I know I've only seen one game of Lp, but man... if PAM doesn't win this by a hefty margin, they really shouldn't be ranked at all (surely that's not really a big factor on their minds as was suggest earlier in the thread). Regardless, Titans are the better team all over the board. If they come to play, should be an easy win.

A couple of issues have led to this start: 1. This years SR class was pretty thin to begin with. Then 5 of them headed to Dayton to make it the thinnest I can ever remember. 2. The injury bug has been RIDICULOUS this year. They had 9 defensive players out against Columbus. They get all but 1 back this week so hopefully they stay healthy. 3. Replacing the back to back district MVP is tough (especially at QB). I wouldn't expect this to continue past this year. This team is loaded with young talent. And I do mean YOUNG. They will suit up 7 freshmen this week. 4 will start. Both the freshmen and sophomore teams were undefeated all the way through middle school and halfway through their freshmen year before being broken up to supplement the Varsity. The future is bright, just got to survive this year.

Not sure what the exact injury was because the QB was suited last week he just didn't play. You could see him giving signs and trying to help the offense, he had pads on. I would assume if he was the replacement in case of injury last week that he might be good to go this week. Then again I have no information other than what my eyes tell me.

PAM should win this game. From what I have seen the short passing attack of LP isn't going to be as effective against the speed of PAM's secondary and backers. This should allow PAM to stack up on the running game. Also saw a couple of trick plays and a lot of misdirection in the backfield. I got PAM in this one.

Any update on any of Crosby's injured starters coming back for this game?

There are several games that we cover that's not on the list. The pickems have always been just 25 games. Some games get left off. It's just the way it has always been. I appreciate @WOSdrummer99 for taking over the pickems. I think he is doing a great job.

Probably the best best team the eagles have left on the schedule. I'd like to see a defensive shutout and to cut out all the turnovers offensively. Gotta expect Coldspring will probably come out with high energy and try to match that energy from start to finish.

As the #7 team in the state, Lumberton should blow out every team in their district. A top 10 team should have no problem beating Vidor and Huffman by 28+ points. I can assure you the other teams in the top-10 would not struggle to do so. They should also be able to beat LCM by 2+ scores. That's just the reality of things. The other teams in the top-10 in 4A-D1 would beat Tatum by 30 points. That's also the reality of things. If Lumberton goes through the district and finishes 9-1 with blowout wins over Vidor and HH, and a convincing win over LCM, I'll agree that they're deserving of their ranking. In 5 games Lumberton has played 2 teams that are awful, 2 teams that are pretty solid, and 1 team that is actually good. The one good team they played beat them by three scores, and they beat the two decent teams by one score each. One of those pretty good teams is 4A-D2, and will finish the year at 6-4, best case. The other is 3A-D1 and will finish the year 6-4 best case as well. 1-score wins against pretty good teams in lower divisions don't scream out "Top Ten Ranking" to me. So all that said, my point is not that Lumberton is a bad team, it's that they're not deserving of their ranking, and really haven't done anything this year for me to understand how they've gotten it. In our local 4A-D2 district they'd be in a tight race for 4th place.

Having played for the Cougars and been a die hard Cougar fan my entire life. Expectations were good for Buna we returned several starters and were solid with both offensive and defensive lines. I felt we were good enough with our talent for 2nd or 3rd in district. The brand of football that Buna put out last year and the beginning of this year was not Buna football under Kinne. Undisciplined, lack of emotion, reckless, and completely out of sorts. Terrier is starting to get this team back to what Buna does playing with passion and emotion, disciplined, playing with controlled aggression. Coach T will go to war with these boys he bleeds for the blue and they will follow him into any battle and not quit. We lost our 1st 3 games by a combined 11 points. The Bridge City game and Crockett game came down to last plays deep in their territory for the outcome. Kinne took a 5 yard delay of gain against Crockett when we could have kicked the extra point to tie. He decided to run the ball up the middle for a two point conversion that failed. Orangefield had two big plays that hurt us that Dischler boy is a fantastic back and hurt us on two big long touchdown runs. That game was close through out. I'm not saying we beat EC but can guarantee the brand of football that is being produced now under Terrier is different. The team is rebounding from adversity and playing with heart on the field. If we continue to run hard with Jacob Johnson and mix the pass off play action as the last couple games it should be a great game come Friday night. As always go Cougars

I think Dayton has a legitimate shot at winning the district. Their O-line is huge. They have a legit QB. They have a legit RB. They have a couple of good WR. Their defense is tenacious.

Ha! That was quick. You hardly had time to leave the stadium.🤣🤣 By this time of the year, teams are known and are either improving, or staying somewhat stagnant. The KWP game--which the Panthers were CLEARLY the better team Thursday night--notwithstanding, LP has been steadily improving with a much higher ceiling available. KWP's senior laden leadership at key positions, execution, and gameplan made the young LP squad look pretty inept. LP is a better squad than they showed. That being said, with youth comes inconsistency. I feel sure the coaching staff have already had the young men move on and focus on this game. We'll see if they can rebound from the KWP disaster. If they can, that will show me a great deal about the boys, and the approach of the staff. Now that that's out of the way, this game will be won/lost in a very cliche' way for LP. Fundamental execution with minimal/no penalties. Win the TO battle. Control the clock/slow the game down. Stop the big play. I think you'll see a much different LP squad Friday night at Bulldog. But, that's because I think their upside is still pretty high, and the coaches will have them mentally ready. We'll find out if my faith is warranted on Friday.

Old rivals meet again. Expect the unexpected always in this one. LP leads the series 8-4 with 3 of those dubs coming via playoffs in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
