You just have to understand that there are people who always look for the missed spot on a freshly painted door. No one is stating anyone should revere a coach, but nothing wrong with giving them a day of praise. National Coaches Day is not just for high school football coaches.

Wowwwww… so this topic flew right over your head. You do realize that nearly all coaches make far less than six figures. For every head coach who makes $100k there are a dozen assistants who make teacher pay with a stipend. This is football thread but the day is in honor of all coaches across all sports. Hate that you found away to take what was meant to be a positive post for coaches and spun it to the negative about coaches… congratulations

Today is National Coaches Day… here’s to all those who are called to the profession. They could make more money in countless industries, but they chose a path that really makes a difference… maybe the keyboard warriors will take a break from beating up on them today!

Nobody "found something negative" in your words. Your entire posts were made with a tone of negativity, discounting the points that both posters ahead of you made in their effort to praise coaches. If that's your belief, then whatever, but quit acting like people are finding stuff in your post that isn't there.

True. I know it looked like Dayton was playing against a JR High coach. But, regardless -- I could tell that Dayton was well coached. BTW -- did anyone notice when the Nederland player got hurt, the Dayton cheerleaders and all the players took a knee?! I looked at Nederland and they did nothing! Could show Dayton!

I can't see where anybody from Dayton has an inflated ego ? Might be a little excited about winning and think we can hang with PNG if anything you might have an inflated ego with the way your always slighting Dayton after they win a game. Like I said be patient when the Broncos roll into town you might be surprised. Good luck and we hope to play a healthy PNG.

Yes. Re-read and comprehend: A six figure salary is not unheard of. "not unheard of" is an accurate statement, and in NO WAY infers most make that. Coaching salaries and teaching salaries have definitely been trending UP. Why? Teaching shortages today demand higher compensation. I went to lengths to say teachers salaries have rose significantly. None of that is "negative" its accurate and part of an open discussion. Its actually positive. Sorry everyone "found something negative" in my words. Well we shall see next week, seems like Dayton is rolling under their new coaching staff. But playing the bottom feeders will inflate the ego. But I have seen stranger things happen. We have alot of injuries right now beat up pretty good but battle tested and ready to go. Hopefully after we beat Willoridge we will have no injuries and our players coming back healthy, if not the backups will just have to continue what they started and play hard nosed football. I am eager to see Dayton come next week. Hope the weather continues to stay perfect.

Head to head would be first. Sterling owns the head to head versus Nederland. Lets say Crosby, Nederland, and Sterling all end up tied... Depending on what is in the district minutes it could go a couple of ways for tie breakers... 1. Head to head 2. 3 way tournament (play in type game) 3. coin flip for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Once again I do not know what is the minutes for 17-5a. But I have seen all the above situations take place.

I don’t know about top 10 in the country. You should be dominating at this level even as a freshman if that were true. Quite frankly, I will be surprised if he is top 10 in the state at his position. However, I do know that the best player on the field was easily Cam Dischler from Orangefield. The do-it-all athlete for the Bobcats recently picked up a Lamar offer. He and a certain WR from Silsbee are the leaders in the clubhouse for the WRS award imo.
