What else are we supposed to say honestly? You guys (I love your stuff, no kidding) but you promote and glorify teams along with the UIL who gain advantages. Everyone knows what's coming and it's extremely difficult to compete with it. And somehow it's "racist" to bring up recruiting? Still haven't figured that one out. It is what it is man. The rules are there that allow it currently but it doesn't impress me. They have the most transfers in the state. That should not be allowed OR the school should be able to do it if they move up to a much higher classification. It's common sense to most but not all for some reason. Crown them. We are still coming, and we are bringing hell with us.

I don't know. According to the peanut gallery, MH has inside info that will provide them the win. 😉

While I would have liked to see them score a TD and make it a closer game, what a great and fun season for those boys. They brought some life and Cardinal spirit the likes of which Larry Ward stadium hasn’t seen in years! What a fun ride it’s been! It’s a great day to be a Cardinal!

It has truly been a pleasure officiating for Coach Sigler over the years. His professionalism and integrity in the game of high school basketball were evident every time his team stepped on the court. What set him apart was not just his knowledge of the game, but the respect he consistently showed to officials—even in moments where a call was questionable, he never tried to embarrass or demean. He addressed concerns with composure and always maintained the standard of respect. Coach Sigler also went above and beyond by allowing me to come speak to his team on multiple occasions, giving insight on officiating and teaching the do’s and don’ts from a referee’s perspective. That openness to educate and bridge the gap between coaches, players, and officials is a rare and appreciated quality. Wishing Coach Sigler a happy and well-deserved retirement. Your legacy of leadership, character, and respect will continue to influence the game and those who play it for years to come.

My money is apparently on whoever will suck up & play the Super’s kid.

Congratulations to Coach HH and the entire staff for representing SETX and 9-4AD2. Coaches have stuck to their process and now that they have better talent they have achieved higher results. Coaches have produced high level game plans and made strategic in game adjustments as they have since they took over at WOS. Now, all roads lead to Carthage who have a better player at nearly every position other than MLB and possibly a DL spot. Friday's outcome will not be the result of incompetent coaching, and it will most definitely not be because WOS ran a "50 defense" instead of a "50 defense". Regardless of the final result Coaches and WOS players have done a great job and even more so given the poison from segments of the fan base.

Do we still want to fire the coach? Or.. not yet? Or.. never mind? Just making sure I’m keeping up.

Word I received is that Bailey will not play against Ennis but is hopeful to play in 3rd round. I have been told the extent of his injuries but that doesn't need to be publicized here. That's for his family and school to announce.

I don't think anyone here is arguing that the school district is bad. Just not handling AD/HC's very well of late. That is on the school admins.

They are and for that reason I hope UIL moves PNG and Nederland back to Reg 3… no reason to be playing DFW schools in bidistrict or this early in the playoffs…

There's still 2 chances for bragging rights with both playoffs and overall season winners to be determined. A few other interesting points about these preseason rankings: Atascocita could be pretty special this season. They are playing in several national tourneys and one day events. They will be battle tested come district time. Some say this is the year for Baytown Sterling to replace Barbers Hill in the playoffs. If that happens, then United would go DII and that could provide an opportunity for both Beaumont schools to make it to San Antonio. Will be interesting to see. Looks like Orangefield and East Chambers will again battle for district supremacy. If Kountze fails to make playoffs and Anahuac does, that would send East Chambers to DII. My money is still on Kountze getting in the post season. San Augustine could make some noise in the region. They have a new coach as well. Big Sandy is back in the rankings after a "un Big Sandy" type season last year. Brookeland again head and shoulders above the local 1A's but the district that 28-1A faces in the 1st round is loaded. 27-1A has #10 Wells, #11 Kennard and #12 Groveton Centerville along with an always tough Broaddus team. Getting close to that time of year. Looking forward to another great basketball season.

But the hype is stating that Tylenol causes Autism. That simply isn't the case. How do I know this? Because my wife never took Tylenol while pregnant yet my youngest son has Autism. The rise in Autism is because now we are able to diagnose it much better and sooner than we have ever have. Back in the day, folks didn't know what it was and simply misdiagnosed. My son was diagnosed as a 2 year old. We were first alerted by a school developmental specialist based on his behavior and skill set. She recommended us to a developmental psychologist and through some testing was then diagnosed. I just think this is being blown out of proportion and Trump needs to be able to point a finger. There are several drugs that women shouldn't take while pregnant. This just seems like a witch hunt. If we are going to reach for causes of Autism, then the first thing to look at is the amounts of mercury in vaccinations. I believe there is more substance to that claim than Tylenol. My wife and I never really got into the "what caused this" thing. Yes we asked questions but that was just briefly. After coming to grips with the diagnose (and that took some time) we then went into how do we manage this and what can we do to help our son. Took a lot of growing pains, some setbacks and personal struggles. But in the end, we believe we did the best we could and our son is striving as a 30 year old adult with Autism. Best thing we were ever told when we were dealing with all this was something a friend said to us at a grocery store. We were talking to her about our son and how we were struggling with all that comes with Autism. She said to us and I quote. "You guys will do just fine. God chose you two to be Reid's parents. He knows that you guys are the perfect parents for him. It is not a curse, it's a blessing to be his parents." That stuck with us till this day. IMO, there is no real root cause to Autism.

I’m hoping they actually have the right guy this time. I was leaning with some of you that it looked more and more like a professional job. Hopefully we know the truth. I am going to post one thing here though in general. Reading this thread is almost as depressing as social media, on both sides. At least no one is celebrating a man’s murder here that I’ve seen. But those of you who are proclaiming it’s only the liberals or the Dems who do this need to expand your source of information or remove your head from the sand or your nether regions, as applicable. Specifically, I would direct your attention to the murder of Melissa Hortman, the speaker of Minnesota’s House of Representatives and her husband, both democrats (oh and their dog). The man indicted for their murder, is a self proclaimed evangelical Christian. He allegedly targeted them and other prominent democrats in Minnesota because of their politics. I didn’t read every single post in this thread so I apologize if this has already been mentioned. But these murders occurred less than 90 days ago. I did go back through this page and couldn’t find a thread dedicated to these senseless killings. I am very glad that I didn’t find one blaming Republicans and/or evangelical Christians for their deaths. Because that would be as dumb and/or unfair as blaming an entire party or segment of a part for Charlie’s death. We know next to nothing at this point other than a good man, husband and father was senselessly executed. And while I think a lot of many of you who post here, whether I agree or disagree with you, if you are one of those who rushes to get to a keyboard and politicize these tragedies, I hate to break it to you but YOU are part of the problem.

I worked in inner city Beaumont for 15 years, exclusively with families below the poverty line. Lots of them do things right, but lots of them abuse the system. To pretend the abuse isn’t rampant is silly. As someone who devoted what will end up being around half of my professional career to helping and working with the impoverished, I have no issue with more restrictions on what government handouts are used for. Nobody should starve, but other people’s tax money shouldn’t be spent on luxuries.

I don't like to get involved in any hiring process or campaign for anyone. But if it was up to me, I would promote Ira Brooks to the head coach position and make his son Jacob 1st assistant and be HC in waiting for a few more years till Ira retires. I do realize that neither are certified but I personally would make this exception and would be able to give time for Jacob to get certified. I believe Ira has earned it.

Some of this stuff has implications way past what these kids probably realize. I know a 6’7” kid from the Houston area that at one time held an A&M offer. Big kid, wide shoulders, can hit the three and was one of the better back to the basket players I have seen at his age. Kind of an Adrian Dantley/Alex English type game for some of you old heads. Anyway, I’m not sure he has any committable offers at this point. Even lost some Southland offers for jawing at his coach, refs, etc. And this is a 6’7” kid who would be more talented than most of the rosters in the Southland. Point being, college coaches are very attune to red flags in this day and age. And when you can recruit kids out of the portal, you better be squeaky clean as a high school kid, on and off the court.

This is what I do know. There are certain people in this fan base that don’t have any knowledge of football and no school spirit but just show up to cause confusion. This may be the case here, however, there seem to be belligerent people like this In all of our local fan bases.

Im backkkk… just for a post or two. SOC, Randle, and IC, to me, are the top tier teams in the classification. I think we fall into tier 2. Does that mean we can’t win, no…. But it will take a perfect game and pull it out in the end type of situation. I will say this. And I’m a life long PNG fan. I have never seen more ignorance, racism, and utter negativity in my life from the PNG fans. From the crying about open enrollment, gloves, region, coaching, etc…. Suit up and play the game and see what happens. But speak with some football IQ folks. We are in the quarters. A undefeated season so far, great coaching staff, and good little team. Have a QB, RB, and 2 WR, coming back next year. Versus all the negativity, shoot out some positive thoughts.

no probably to it, and the tigers absolutely deserved that hardware. It's one thing to run into a team that's better than you, another thing entirely to be a town of less than 7,000 people and run into an AAU team recruiting from 13 districts and millions of people.

Always a big fan of the purple Indians - well coached and talented team. Sophomore backup is not a QB he will be back at WR next season. Coaches son will be back at the helm along with #.33 freshmen RB . I wasn't completely disappointed in the loss I thought our coach did a great job of game management with a brand new back field. I don't support some of his sideline antics but that's above my paygrade. GO INDIANS !

My two cents re: ArmbandGate. There may not be evidence that stealing the armband (That’s what it was. The instant he intentionally did not return the armband to its rightful owner while knowing it wasn’t his to keep, it became a theft) helped LCM win the game, but it’s evidence that at least one LCM coach (1) stole from another team, (2) lied when he had an obligation to tell the truth, and (3) took steps to cover up his theft even while direct inquiries were being made to him about the armband’s location and what he did with it. That has to be punished. If an attorney did something like this in a trial he might be disbarred. And, the team should have had to forfeit the game. Letting LCM skate on this invites exactly the message people are making here today, that “it must not have been that big of a deal if it didn’t warrant a forfeit.” It’s very much a big deal, an astonishing example of bad faith and dishonesty from a public employee in charge of children. It was a blatant violation of sportsmanship, human decency, and the law. Most of us will remember that in 2018 PNG had to forfeit a game they won against Crosby under less severe circumstances. A coach had an iPad in the press box - Against the rules. So, even though it was agreed by the district members that there had been no effect on the game’s outcome, PNG was forced to forfeit. There was no lying, or hiding evidence by PNG as there was by LCM - it was simply, “You broke a rule and we have to send a message.” LCM broke the rules, and the district should have sent a stronger message.

Still need 25 more. 10-4A DI has all 4 of their playoff spots clinched. Last two weeks of the season will be very interesting.

PN-G at Nederland MCM, nuff said LC-M at Bridge City District championship on the line, winner stays undefeated Silsbee at WO-S Same as LC-M/BC, Shepherd at Jasper Winner gets a playoff spot, loser most likely out Hardin at Anahuac Hardin trying to solidify their district championship hopes, Anahuac trying to improve their playoff position Anderson-Shiro at Kountze Winner gets a playoff spot Deweyville at West Hardin Winner gets 3rd, loser most likely 4th West Sabine at Evadale District championship to the winner San Augustine at Shelbyville SA with a win gets district championship, Shelbyville looking to stay in the DC hunt. My once a year post. Last year I pretty Much laid it out how it ended. Trap game and PNG was super flat. I do think without that win last year, Nederland would not be super happy with their coach. IMO it has given them hope, other than last year’s win, Nederland doesn’t have much to be positive about. This year’s take is the same, but different. Trap game? 100%, but Joesph will have us ready to play this year. I do not predict a blow out, but I do not see Nederland winning this game. They will throw the kitchen sink at us, but in the end, little brother will remain little brother. I’ll take PNG. Closer game than most will predict. In the end, without uncle Larry, Nederland is the old Nederland. The rah rahs will say Nederland is better than they have played. Truth is, maybe, but Nederland fans have always lived on the Uncle Larry era. And that’s simply over. PNG for the win.. But on a positive for the Pups, at least you will get some state wide attention this week because of the rivalry aspect. You heard it here first. And if any have taken this post as negative, I do have a peace offering. We have a trophy case across the tracks if any of you would like to come see what relevance looks like!!! PNG….. Enough said……..

We have been complaining for years about the shadow banning and cancel culture. Many, not all Democrats and Trump haters supported and celebrated it. They did not want to hear things they disagreed with. They even came up with safe spaces....lol There have been so many phobia's made up, dictionary's would need to be re-written (if they were paper now days) Now we have direct proof of a couple things. 1. The Obama administration purposely sabotaged an incoming President. 2. The Biden administration purposely silenced private companies...... Yet, the left's outrage today is about a private company taking a comedian off their network......

In the BISD case, the naming of the stadium was strictly a school board kissing butt. Majority of community wasn't really behind it. (including part of the black community). The school board made the decision without any input from the community. Only a very small portion of the community want the stadium name to go back to Thomas. Might be a loud portion, but definitely not the majority. I can't speak on the Midland community and how the majority of it's community wanted the Lee name back. Sounds like their voices were heard. I think it's different due to what the majority wants from both these communities.

Yea, why wouldn’t he enroll his daughter in that school ? Not everybody believes BH is the only school good enough to put a kid in. This kind of comments just proves why people on this board think BH posters snub their nose at the rest of us.

When a game between two local towns gets shut down for a few years because of a massive brawl, then that is a rivalry. Jasper/Silsbee started it's rivalry in 1922 but put it on hiatus for several years later in the 20's because of a big fight during a game in '24. Didn't start back playing each other till '32 As a child, Jasper was the only rivalry I knew.

Frame it however you want, but for a school who previously lured Westerberg from Allen and Abseck from Cedar Park, this hire smells like a wet fart. Especially with some of the names who wouldn't even consider working there and the pending move to 6A, Poole may have banished BH football to the island of irrelevancy. There isn't a world where going from Abseck to Simper isn't a massive downgrade.

One of the greatest college baseball coaches of all time, Wayne Graham, made a statement some time ago that he always recruited multi sport athletes over straight baseball players. Said their mentality, toughness and all around athletic abilities were more important than being a baseball savant. I have always been about playing as many sports as possible, particularly at a young age. This bull about making an 8 year old play only one sport year round is nothing but selfishness from the coach. Plain and simple.
