Oh, I wasn't referring to back ups, no-name johnny's and such. I meant, transfers that are an impact at one school, then go on to be an impact at another school. Those types of transfers, which are far more commonplace strictly occur due to "athletic purposes".

Has there ever been a transfer in the history of transferring that was NOT for athletic purposes?

Exactly. Newton struggled with Jefferson who was not very good at all. Jefferson got blown out by Commerce. Commerce also wasn't great but had a decent run and lost out to Grandview. We all know what happened to Grandview - got handled by Yoakum in the championship. All in all, the numbers, matchups, and science from the entire season says it all. Yoakum was about even or slightly better than Newton. And Hardin/Yoakum were very similar in strength. Game could have went either way had QB-bishop not got injured.

Remained? When were they spread? They've only been spread for a total of 6 years, in the 4o+ years that I have been around. Ex-Wife taught there in the 80's and it's been pretty much toss left and toss right with the occasional veer and power I for the most part. Hadn't seen any spread days since Haynes left in 2018 or so. But to answer your question, I think the current HFC has them right where he wants them, in this 3-4 year successful campaign.

are there any local 4a school districts outside of HF and tarkington that dont have turf, newer or expanded bleachers, restroom add-ons, consessions, and upgrades to overall athletic facilities? at HF they got a few new amennities on the last go round, but it sure would be nice to have an upgrade to the overall football stadium.

Serious question, when was the last time Tarkington won enough games to be apart of the UIL HS football playoffs for 2-3 years consecutive?

at Ridge Point still or back into retirement?

Just kind of curious, when somebody in media, or in the know hears something that's undoubtedly true, what's the purpose of keeping it quiet? i'm just wondering if there's any benefit to withholding information in 2026. Like, example.....the same people that told you, please dont say anything, also felt it was necessary to tell many others the same thing, KNOWING darn well that those entities would not keep it quiet. you'd think that in todays day and age, if you didnt want somebody to know something, you just wouldnt tell a soul. guess that happens.......well....almost never.

On a different yet more important note - The town of Warren could be SOLD and they still would not have enough money to purchase Scott Surratt

Didn't the great Cornel Thompson say something along the lines of "You can't win the kentucky derby with mules" ?

I often wonder who GA Moore would be had he coached in Warren for 44 years. Also, do you remember GA Moore for all his wins at Celina and Pilot Point, or the fact that he finished his career with two back to back losing seasons at Aubrey HS? I wonder, did he forget how to be great?
