  1. The writing was on the wall when the LLCA group in Woodville ran off the coach who took them to the state title game because he 'didn't use his athletes" like they wanted.
  2. Any update from the Hardin folks about where Trevor Jones is going to play college football? I heard he was taking some visits to D3 schools and I'd like to keep up with him as he works through the college ranks.
  3. It's a bit unfair to scrutinize Toby about this hire and not do the same to each of the other HC/AD who have hired him over the past several years while these same issues were present. Bass hired him a year ago at HJ, and several other districts in the years before. Clearly, it's a systemic problem that has permeated all of these districts in the area so trying to paint Foreman as the primary bad guy just because of the most recent issue seems a bit like recency bias. If social media is to be believed, the issue with Peveto and the young girl was a pretty well-known secret around HJ and Peveto's wife was the athletic secretary and Bass was in charge.
  4. This is the bigger question. I've heard everything from other issues of the kind he was arrested for, all the way to multiple DWIs, the last of which cost a young girl her life. If all of that is true, several districts in SETX need to be looked at sideways. We gotta do better, man. Our kids are worth the extra effort.
  5. I hear ya, but surely the big bad 6A schools aren't concerned about lil ol BH moving up to 6A and bringing a former 3A QB with them....lol
  6. Babins + BH vs Woodville? My money is on Babin'sHill.
  7. Yes they had good players, but their success this year was a product of that class running Chad Taylor's offense. If Barrier coach and Barrier son had stayed at Hardin, this team would've been in a battle for a playoff spot in their district, not a battle for a potential state championship.
  8. Hardin had success because they were big up front, ran a wing T, and ran the fire out of the clock. If you truly think they had the horses to run a wide-open offense and sling it around like Barrier did at BH, then I am not sure this conversation is worth continuing to have.
  9. This is an ignorant take. Do you think Barrier would've had the individual success he has had if he had been playing in Chad Taylors offense? On the flip side, do you think Hardin would've had the team success they had this past year had they stayed in Barrier's offense? On another note, Woodville is a dumpster fire. Two years removed from a state championship appearance, and now staring down the barrel of low level mediocrity for the foreseeable future, all because daddies can't keep their mouth shut. Great job guys!
  10. My apologies. I totally misunderstood your original post on the topic. That's on me.
  11. Damn, coming on kind of strong. Nunan was a hell of a lineman at Hardin and I will root for him at the next level, but there is no denying who was the heart and soul of that Hardin team last year. Jones was a leader on both sides of the ball, was a hell of a good football player, and probably gave his OL and DL all the credit for his achievements. No need to come on the back end and diminish his accomplishments just because your son/cousin/brother/friend's name wasn't printed in the headlines.
  12. Where did Babin move to?
  13. The loss of Trevor Jones will be the issue. Best player, both sides of the ball, man amongst boys, leadership. Somebody has to fill that void.
  14. The Hardin QB transferred?
  15. Gotta ask, but mean no disrespect, why would a high caliber candidate be interested in the Tarkington job? Seems more likely to be a spot for someone needing a chance.
