The right coach can make a difference for sure.. In reference to the "certain" coach... It was superintent not the school board that was the issue, and at the time the board or the district wasnt in a place to get rid of the superintendent but will say that the program needed some major adjustments as far as disipline. Coldspring will rise again, it doesnt happen over night

Their run will probably last as long as that QB is there, guys like that aren't easy to replace. Just look at the downturn from LCM after losing their QB from last season.

QB, RB, 2 of the 4 WR's. 2 of the front 3 DL, 3 of the 4 LBS are all JRs and were starters last year. Hit will be DB's and OL.

LCM dug themselves a hole early with the unforced turnovers. Lumberton is too good to offer those mistakes. Last minute game day change did not benefit LCM either. Hopefully LCM can correct some things before the playoffs. Lumberton has the tools to go far. Good luck on making a run.

I hate to tell you but the Trojan's do not have the same type of kids they had back in the 80', 90's and early 2000's. Not bashing but just not the same. We used to think of Coldspring as always reloading. Now it's a game that we think we can win every year. But you are correct the right coach could help change things, if that is what's the biggest problem.

Teams that I have seen with my own eyes this year, I would rank Lumberton a close 2nd to Silsbee.

LCM is as good as their record this year. Raiders in a so-so district, so it’s easy for them to shine. Lumberton can get better though. Proud of our boys. Good job!

Silsbee's defense at times is my biggest concern. The secondary has given up alot of big plays but they also have made big plays. I believe Silsbee is 8-10pts better than Jasper. Jasper struggled with HF as well in Jasper. Silsbee may have to add Miller to the secondary more the further they advance in the playoffs. IMO, the most dangerous WR group for Silsbee is Miller, Cartwright, and Elder #7. All those kids seem to be tall and very athletic with Miller. Keep Baltrip or Jackson on the field in the slot. Silsbee running backs need to start with Martin and end with Kibbles. I'd use Brown in the passing game as he has solid hands. The secondary can still get better but we have to stop peeping so much in the backfield. I saw that alot vs HF, WOS, and Nederland. My prediction is Silsbee going 4-5 rounds deep. Im hoping for a game here in Katy or Cypress area. I have seen Cuero as well. I think Silsbee is a bit better.

I do not think the schedule is considered "weak" just not very strong. But they dispose of the weaker teams pretty well (minus the Nederland game). I think this team is as good if not better than Cuero. Carthage? Not so much. Carthage is huge in the trenches. Skill wise, Silsbee is as good, but Carthage is much better on the line on both sides of the ball. Their line will give Silsbee fits both offensively and defensively. This Silsbee team is talented and are playing well. Some breaks go their way can mean a historical season for these Tigers.

59n Sports, yes the AD is a very loyal person to the students and his coaching staff, heck of a guy. I have sat and talked with him a bunch nothing but respect for him and his family. He is very good for Shepherd. The 1 coach is the same, and the players love him. The new one, I hear nothing but great things about. My daughter has him in class and says he is a great person and teacher. And for her to say that speaks volumes. Agree on all accounts. I do understand about the hometown politics, everybody has them. Look at WOS this year!!

I agree with you and I have been able to see Corrigan play this year. My choice in this game is merely on points allowed in district play. This will be a game of the week for me

Thia game here could go down in the record books in my opinion as CC will be on the road. Corrigan will play their toughest game of the season at the 2a level and make a big run in the playoffs, If the defense gives up 14 points I will be surprised.
