  1. I’m sure an improvement from last year, looking more forward to the 2-3 years on a plan full offseason workout and culture change. positive note I’m hearing all the kids are really buying into the program and perfect attendance to everyone showing up for the before and after school workouts.

  6. Hancock had zero people skills always running his players in the ground getting into it with the players parents as well as the fans ! very negative and verbal abusive guy. He won a lot of games because Stewart was in the back ground babysitting even during live games he would give Hancock hand signals on what to do and laugh at him while saying how dumb he was while talking to liltex and me,

  7. Hancok then Nations both incompetent assistant coaches from the Stewart era. Then coach Ware ( buddy of Jeff Nation ,assistant coach New Caney) the best of the three but half assed it his last year since he had another job lined up.

  8. A parent can’t move their child for whatever reason they see fit…my point is because parents decide to do so doesn’t mean the coaches at that particular program recruited the kid, like Cougar is wanting y’all to believe.

  9. The UIL: "Former North Shore offensive coordinator Andrew Cameron recruited players from area schools, and is suspended for 3 years." Andrew Cameron: "I did in fact recruit players from area schools." Coach Izzy: "Listen guys, that didn't actually happen. Trust me."

I’m familiar with that story and the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. I don’t trust any of them and we have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. But this is as ugly as I can recall.

  19. Simple question, for which you don't have to answer. Are you on Medicare or Medicaid? I'm going to guess "yes," because the situation as it currently is benefits you. My coworker purchases insurance through our company for her and her entire family. The premium that she pays is roughly $1000/month. In the last two months both her and her husband have had an annual wellness visit (free) and the provider wanted bloodwork which is fairly routine with an annual wellness visit. The provider billed THOUSANDS for each of their visit(s), then the insurance company scored the bills down to a "manageable" $400 for him and $500 for her... the entire $900 of which came out of her pocket. When one of her kids needed tubes in his ears last year, it was out of pocket close to $4k.... after an insurance company markdown of the provider pricing. The birth of her last kid cost however much her annual deductible is... something like $6k, after markdowns and contribution by the insurance company. Comparing socialized medicine to communism doesn't change the fact that the current system is broken. But some people like yourself don't care, so long as it works to your benefit. IF you made an average of $50k per year for 45 years and contributed 3.3% towards Medicare, there would have been $74,500 paid in by you and your employers over your lifetime to cover your healthcare after you turned 65. The average cost of a knee replacement is $30k, btw. Every single retiree is receiving more benefits (Medicare) than what they ever paid in. What do you call it when every single old dude takes in more than he ever contributed? I'll give you a hint... it's socialized medicine, lol. You're just happy to be enjoying the benefits of others' labors and the capitalist in you doesn't want to share. When somebody says "I don't care! I paid for it! It's MINE!" what they are really saying is "I'm a socialist, I just don't want to admit it."

  22. Well you don’t because it was stated that several of those 20 kids were at the feeder middle schools but went to different HS. Also mentioned how several of those 20 played JV the whole year and got moved up for the playoffs. So I think your math a little off bud, yall want to throw the recruiting/transfer talk around on NS so much yall ignore the facts. GPISD just proved to all the dumb asses on here that’s been saying they recruit for years, that they’ve been winning with homegrown talent from the feeder schools. As I’ve stated on here on numerous occasions. Do they get transfers? OF COURSE you do especially when you’re at a school with a high mobility rate surrounded by a bunch of apartments. They also did the numbers on the mobility rate at the freshman campus: The school in total had 177 transfers only 8 of those were football players. Stop the hating people it’s a bad look.

  24. I’m just another dumb Crosby graduate, but another way of saying 60 of the 80 varsity players were from feeder schools is: 25% of Northshore’s varsity players came from other districts.

  25. After watching them in person last night I didn’t think they were as good as advertised as a whole. We were supposed to get blown out and sure we lost by 21 but we had our absolute worst game of the year from a shooting stand point and you might say it was because of the defense but really it wasn’t. We missed wide open 3’s time and time again. And just like I suspected they shot 12 more free throws than we did thanks to one particular ref. All that being said, as long as #5 came from Kountze the rest of the kids really don’t matter. Sure some kids had a few rebounds and put backs and made a few buckets here and there. But that’s stuff any halfway talented big can do. #5 was by far the best player on the court for either team and they will go as far as he can take them. Very impressed with how savvy he was with the basketball. That kid is the catalyst for that team and much props to him. Congrats to Kountze and good luck!

  30. Yeah, I’ve know him for over 25 years. I was hoping you wouldn’t actually mention his name but as sure as my father is buried in Evergreen cemetery I assure you we’ve discussed NS’ talent acquisition process and also my sons playing there. I ain’t on here selling woof tickets but what else would you expect from a guy disputing what came out of someone’s own mouth. I’m going to the driving range, you can have it from here on out ✌🏾

  31. Now you just said NS “came got” this sound like a parents decision & had nothing to do with none of NS coaches coming get him. Furthermore ‘PARENTS’ have the right to send their kids to whatever school they want to. If they decided to send their son to a certain school cause they want him to be coached by a certain coach or because they want their kids in a better athletic program that isn’t a recruiting violation like you’ve been trying to allude to. They discussed the report on the meeting & it was submitted to the UIL, I’ve provided the link to the meeting for you. [Hidden Content]

  32. You’re right, there’s no cake walks for Republicans, it’s a silly argument that folks know they’ll never have to back up. John McCain was the moderate darling, until he ran for President. Mitt Romney was the moderate darling, until he ran for President. The dopes that would consider voting biden after the last three years aren’t going to wise up just because there’s a “cake-walk” option available.

  37. Kid ended up at North Shore after Coach P left, you can talk to his dad like I did about who got him there. He's eligible now and that's all that matters. Didn't speak to a coach at the track meet, I spoke to a GPISD administrator You said the DM wasn't meant to be taken as a recruitment, he admitted it was. You can ask him why YOU think he lied to the UIL, I can send you his contact information. He drove my son and one of NS' o-linemen to a visit. A couple of staffs ago our guy was Coach Mann, partially the reason we ended up with a D1 offensive lineman from North Shore. Lots of kids were "familiar" with Coach Price at NS prior to him taking the UTSA job, you can ask Tre Dixon's mom about it if you want more information. My cousin was an All-American at NS under Aymond and currently coaches at Desoto, the whole I-20 corridor has "talent acquisition" guys on the staff literally all the way west to Arlington ISD where another one of my cousins coaches at Bowie. My co-worker's son was the starting QB at CE King before he transferred to New Caney, I could tell you who the coach is that acquired the QB who led to my co-worker's son transferring but he's still on staff at King.

  42. FYI this had nothing to do with any type of recruiting violation from the NS program. This had everything to do with a disgruntled coach who has recruited kids from NS in the past & got in his feelings when he THOUGHT a coach from NS was trying to return the favor. There won’t be any penalties handed to NS from this situation.

  44. I will vote for Covey but I really don’t think that Phelan, as an incumbent and with name recognition, is in any trouble. I would venture that in a normal year an incumbent being challenged in a primary would win by about 85%-15%. With this race and Phelan getting so much attention and much of it negative, it might go to Phelan 60/40 or maybe a little less than 40 for Covey. I would love to be wrong but…..
    1 point
  45. Because Phelan is doing most of the mud slinging that tells me he is trying to get out in front of somethings of his own. Trying to throw shade from the shade, so to speak. Covey seems like the right choice.

  46. I personally don’t think he’s in trouble. I think he’s done the best he can and generally put forth a very conservative platform. The cries about cooperation with the democrats confuse me; shouldn’t politicians from both sides attempt to work together? Shouldn’t politicians from both sides be at least congenial and vote for what is best for the state / country? What happened to common sense? Close the border, cut back on taxes - across the board. City tax, county tax, water board tax, port tax, sales tax, income tax, school district tax - Jiminy crickets - enough is enough.
