Had a hell of tailgate today. I smoked a pork butt and 3 racks of spare ribs. Started on that butt at 11pm last night. Ribs at 6am. Was awesome along with that Lamar win.

The jury is still out. DC is the basics here. With the talent we have we should've had the game sealed when we held up 4 fingers. Never should've been a game winning FG with 44 secs left. The decisions we see them make tell us we will not reach that mountain top again. And #4 won that DC and gave all the glory to god. I know its a team game and all that. But u cant deny his impact.

I saw video of this team. I got BU by a lot.

Hope it goes like the Dayton game, good to see second team getting some reps and developing their skills, never know when someone is going to have to step up. It also preserves the starters. I'm impressed with #18 he looks like another option in running situations and his throws have looked good. I've said it before, but deep runs mean so much for sustaining a winning tradition. I'll just use #2 as an example, he already has around 25 games at the varsity level and he may not even have his Texas DL yet. It's also great fun to see the Seniors who don't play much get to go have some fun. I appreciate Coach Joseph letting them play. They paid a great price in commitment by enduring long hours and tough workouts to be out there. I also gotta give some props to the Band,etc for their part. Lastly, thanks to the coaches and their families who make many sacrifices during this season so we can enjoy this time. HIgh School football in Texas is the best deal in sports. And High school football in our area is special. PNG fans be thankful, grateful and humble.

Playoffs time! I love it and going watch many game during the playoffs as much as I can. Please post and who do you plan to watch. AggieAreWe, please let me know if any game good game on Thursday game. For me... Thursday: WOS vs. Wharton unless find good game the switch since I know this game will be boring. Friday: Atascocita vs. Dickinson Saturday: Houston Westbury vs. Lufkin at 2 pm and The Woodland vs. Alpine Davis at 6 pm I could change if someone let me know about good match up. Thanks for the info. Good luck to both teams this friday. Hopefully an injury free game with LP coming out with the first PO win in the new stadium. Im hoping I can make this one. Haven't been to a game since PNG came to town. Thank God they stream the games on YouTube. Go Dawgs!

Couldn't agree more with your analysis. LP's secondary has given me grey hair this year. As much as I hate to see corners playing 10 yards off the receivers I can understand why. Even with the large cushion the corners and safetys still get beat deep and are out of position more times than not. Weiss QB will be licking his chops watching game film. Ok done with my rant. Pulling for LP. Optimistic prediction is LP doing just enough again 49 - 42.

I'm sure the schedule will be much better since coach can make it now. He walked into a brutal schedule and a jr / Sr class that was low on numbers and never won a game in jr high. You're right, other teams are young also but usually have some jr/sr leadership. Anahuac has 9 freshman on the roster but also has 15 seniors for example. I'll bump this thread next year and we will see how it turns out.

The new norm at WOS is celebrating a district championship like it was a state championship. Wos avoids La Vega in rd 2 so hopefully they can go 4 rounds this year.

I’m glad they won the DC but as stated above that’s just the basics here. Very happy for the kids that’s been putting forth the effort. But somehow something still seems off. They may be winning but not in the Mustang fashion we’ve been used to the last 40 years. Speaking to folks associated with various schools across the triangle, they don’t have the fear or respect for WO-S that they used too. When they see u on the schedule they don’t automatically think well that’s a loss that week anymore . But having said all that, Go Mustangs! Congrats on the district championship.

@SmashMouth Lumberton changed their offensive scheme i believe before the huffman game and made a run?? I always thought under center runs were better for them than the spread was. At least the past 2 years such could be said congrats on the win and resilience

Doesn’t help that nobody in that district could finish better than 3rd (quite possibly 4th) in the local 4A-D2 district that 3 of them ran from competing against.

Always a big fan of the purple Indians - well coached and talented team. Sophomore backup is not a QB he will be back at WR next season. Coaches son will be back at the helm along with #.33 freshmen RB . I wasn't completely disappointed in the loss I thought our coach did a great job of game management with a brand new back field. I don't support some of his sideline antics but that's above my paygrade. GO INDIANS !

They truly don't understand it's still not the mustangs way.the kids are fighting but with better coaching it's sky's the limit with this team.even on the goal line lastnite.bf the fg.HF had all 11 guys in the box and if they would've ran wide the back walks in.its simple things that they call.that will come back to bite them.

Silsbee had the benefit of several short fields or they probably have more offensive yards than the 297. Defense shut down that Wing T. Will help since Sweeny runs a similar offense.

Someone needs to revive the program, where's the live stream? Why are we always behind? Sheffield productions was stuck in 1985 and needed the boot. Where the student involvement? It all comes together to bring the program to the highest level, can you imagine if we were still in the old 4A district? The dogs today would be fighting it out with LCM for the bottom. Surely someone can fix this?

Some of you guys are delusional. We have played with basically a JV team for the last 2 years. The cougs have been in shotgun all year running slot t and spread concepts. Every team has played press man and loaded the box. Youth is the issue, not the offense. The record this year was the same but there was a vast improvement from the previous year. Games were very competitive for the most part with a ton of soph starters. I would not be surprised to see them be over .500 next year and even better the next.

I must have missed all this speed you speak of when I watched them earlier in the season.

Cordell Lowe at HJ. Will be fun to watch this year. He is looking good, grew some more, more explosive.
