Call me crazy, but QB1 from Huffman should be mentioned in any conversation regarding the best athlete in the district. I've seen that dude play multiple times, and he is legit!3 points -
Comfortable would describe me also. No need for me to brag. Who is there to impress? I believe that everyone receiving SNAP, welfare, and Section 8 housing should reapply and be reevaluated every 2 years. I’m sure lots of these claims are for children who have out grown the benefits. The cradle to grave industry has to stop. This shutdown has shown just how many people the government controls. Sad, ain’t it? I raised my family. No one else did.2 points

West Orange Stark vs Hamshire-Fannett
Reagan reacted to WOSdrummer99 for a topic
I see the point of intangibles that most recruiters look for. But just cuz a kid can run fast or weighs 300 lbs doesnt exactly mean they dont need instruction. 4.1 speed that cant catch, who teaches him? Or they dont and they just hand him the ball. Or put him at QB and say make a play. Thats what bad coaching does. Good coaching will make sure he's able to be a productive member of the team. Society too1 point -

Which came 1st? Chicken or egg? I tend to think the athletes have to be coached to achieve D1 or 5 stars. Look at the recruiting here at WOS before and after the coaching change. Night and day difference. Sophomore all district then nothing the next 2. WRS nominees? Jefferson should get there this year.1 point -

Crazy what a couple footballs games can do… last year everyone was singing what a great hire because the PNG win, doing well and very close to a Home playoff game and top of the district… this year people are questioning it all…. If next year Nederland gets back to the old ways there needs to be a lot of I’m sorry letters written… but until then support the athletic program..1 point -
Of course no one on this post has said that, but if you were to look back at posts during the playoffs for the last 3 years, especially when they played PNG, there was several people on this site and others saying disparaging things, and insinuating that SOC coaches weren't good coaches and they were only winning because of " All of them D1 players"1 point

Barbers Hill at Beaumont West Brook Predictions
Separation Scientist reacted to Eagle82 for a topic
Well, I have made mention in past posts dating back to the beginning of the year about the QB situation and my concern about the speed of the game regarding Barrier. I feel Wells is just a 1/2 beat faster in his decisions and release and from 3a to 5a is huge, imho. I mean no ill toward Barrier because he's doing all he is able, I just feel Wells operates at a different level. My biggest concern is his size, though. Anytime he breaks the line of scrimmage or is sacked, I cringe hoping he can just pop-up. But, that kid is a gamer and I have not once seen him shy away from a hit. That said, I hope and think BH will beat WB.1 point -

He’s the left-hander from last year’s PO game against LP? If so, I thought he had a live arm. Wondered why BH didn’t start him & let him develop instead of going the other route. Then, they’d have had an experienced QB for next year. Instead, they got a rented free agent.1 point -

Hopefully this coaching staff will get the Bulldogs going in the right direction I have noticed much fewer personal foul penalties under the new staff. That is a plus The only post or part of the post I disagree with is the one about being competitive in most games. The Dayton game is the only loss where they were competitive The other 5 losses were blowouts minus the West Fork game and West Fork had no business winning that game1 point -

I can speak on this because I've been on both sides of this. Lcm is going on their 5th straight winning season. Producing many first(s) in school history since 1956. Are the kids any different? NOPE. Guess what the difference is and it took place almost immediately. Groups either buy in or they don't. And I KNOW nederland doesn't have a lack of athletes.1 point -

BIG Week 11 Games/Playoff spots and seeds on the line
kirkwood29 reacted to AggiesAreWe for a topic
Last week of the regular season is upon us. One last chance to grab a playoff spot, a district title or higher seed. Here are some of the important games for Week 11: 9-5A DI Beaumont United at Baytown Sterling (Thursday) Loser of this game is out; winner is in with a West Brook loss Barbers Hill at Beaumont West Brook Barbers Hill in with a win; WB has to win to have any chance at playoffs. A loss by Bruins ends their season. 11-5A DI Crosby at Angleton for the #2 seed 8-5A DII Dayton at PN-G Dayton in with a win and Lake Creek loss; Dayton loss & LC loss, three way tie for final spot with West Fork Lake Creek at West Fork LC in with a win; WF has to win along with a Dayton loss to force three way tie for 4th. 10-4A DI Bridge City at Huffman winner is #1 or #2 seed, loser is #3 or #4 seed. BC is #1 with a win and Lumberton win. Huffman is #1 with a win and an LC-M win LC-M at Lumberton winner is #1 or #2 seed, loser is #3 or #4 seed. LC-M is #1 with a win and a BC win. Lumberton is #1 with a win and a Huffman win. 9-4A DII Hamshire-Fannett at WO-S WO-S clinches out right DC with win; HF win by 10 or more, #2 seed, win by 9 or less, #3 seed. HF can get #1 seed with a win and a Silsbee loss. Silsbee at Shepherd Silsbee win along with an HF win of any amount, #1 seed. Shepherd has to win by 16 or more along with an HF loss to have any shot of a higher seed of 4th. 9-3A DI Crockett at Fairfield Crockett in with a win or a Teague loss. If Crockett beats Fairfield and Teague wins, then Crockett is the 3 seed. If Crockett beats Fairfield and Diboll beats Teague. Crockett is the 4 seed. Three easiest places to coach from... the couch, the bleachers, and the internet.1 point -
There should be a $500 dollar limit per month on “food” benefits. The kids get two meals per day at school, so there would only be a need for one meal per day plus weekends. Some places even have summer feedings for kids. The benefits are meant to keep people from starvation, not enjoy snow crab legs. If there wasn’t so much abuse, these programs would work. I personally believe it is a joke to think some of these people are employable. They have no job skills and they could possibly break a nail. Entitlement attitudes would surely be grounds for early dismissals.1 point

It doesnt help when you are in a district trying to buuld a program with (last year) the defending state champs. The quarterfinalist in huntsville, and a couple of tough programs in Montgomery and MLC. Then this year with a solid PNG team, Montgomery team and then a couple of teams that are right there similar to you. Then you have injuries and lack depth.1 point -

Some teams look to Todd Dodge to hire coaches. Vidor lets Mathews with a career record of 117-124 hire his best friend DuBois so he can build up his retirement, Ugh. Now the Buna coach with a great record of 2-16 is set to take the reigns after DuBois leaves. 👍👍 two thumbs up VISD and Jay Kilgo. Great job guys1 point -
