Are you serious...As a retired Coach i would Never apologize to a Parent for not subbing there kid. If anyone i would apologize to would be the player. I truly understand the heartfelt passion about how a parent feels about there baby but the day i have to talk down on my kids teammate because of what i think i know than i need leave the talking alone. Parents....your being recruited as well as your kid and the only part about a parent a Coach can see is character because they dont need you to play. I must admit ive seen almost every kid in this area play at one time or another and if i knew all parents could handle constructive criticism i would be honest but since i know some cant i just keep my 2 cents to myself and keep it moving. No matter what makes of this you as person are wrong for criticizing your sons teammate for personal belief cause it merits no personal gain. At the end of the day Coach is gonna play who he believes is gonna get it done and all your gonna do is drive a wedge in your son and his teammate's and with #2 being the primary ball handler he may not get the touches he wants or deserves because of your emotions. Please as a parent of an athlete...Stop..your really not making it easier on your child...In the words of KP...Carry On...

Amazing how no one critically thinks anymore. This morning on 97.5 ESPN radio Houston, Lance and John were wondering how the corona was so bad in the NFL and NBA yet not even noticed in college football. And i think that maybe they have to follow the company ESPN line of the sky is falling. But NO colleges are using a PCR test which is a fraud and moneymaker to test for a cold. That is why Baker Mayfield and the rest of the NFL is PISSED. They are not even sick and testing positive. This is the final push before Christmas to put FAKE FEAR into the public for control. College football said to hell with testing we got bowl games to play. The NFL is slowly changing, but the NBA will carry the CCP theme of fear as long as they can. Whew! Sounds like it was a great game that came down to making STOPS. I learned a long time ago that if you score 30 but you give up 40 you gon lose lol. Analytics is good and all but that only applies on the offensive end. I get so tired of hearing "we lost the game but I had 25" lol. Kids that end up playing on the next level find out very quickly that defense gets them on the floor and keeps them there. Just my opinion tho......

I for no means came at you about yours or Analitics or stats...Stats dont show effort or heart and thats something no paper will ever show. And for you asking who i am doesnt matter because i know who i am and i know that your upset about the way things have been going ever since your full team has came back from football. I will tell you this....Not sure of your sons classification but Highschool juniors are whats on deck as far as recruiting goes. Seniors have had there last summer and if not a personal friend of the Coach who may be a college Coach HF will not be visited unless playing against a possible recruit. Enjoy the ride with your son and stop criticizing or get back into Coaching and make a difference. Its funny as well as this thread and im one to keep the blood pumping cause i know every kid at HF as well as HJ....Zebras have opinions 2...

Saw HJ at their absolute best and absolute worst in the same game. I came away from this game believing the two things I believed going into it: 1. Silsbee is the better team 2. If HJ puts a full game together against them they’re good enough to upset them if they meet again

No dunks unless someone got one when I left with about 2 minutes to go. Looking at the score, I'd say it was 0 - 0 in that department. Miller missed one. HJ's coach was pissed at his players. Called a timeout twice just to yell at them in the second half. Just glad Silsbee realized a basketball game was being played after the first quarter.

As a varsity coach myself, I can tell you 100% during close or tough games we do get tunnel vision and sometimes will get caught up only focus on one thing during games. That's why we have assistant coaches. I've made many mistakes in subbing, calling timeouts, play calls, etc....over my career that has cost games. It happens and any good coach will admit to it and apologize to his players and staff for it. Coach Kenebrew is that type of coach and the players and parents respect that about him. No the season isn't going as many imagine, but I knew there was a possibility it wasn't and have said that much to other parents when they criticized Coach Kenebrew. He's a good coach that had certain expectations or ideas of the type of players he had top to bottom and finding out otherwise. I believe he'll make adjustments and get them on track.

LH did much better on defense than I thought they would do. They did not let SOC really get a rhythm most of the game. LH battled and were doing really well. Couple bad breaks down the stretch that made the difference but LH played tough. They did not backdown and took it to SOC.

He started the OT. And the shots I’m talking about came in OT. I don’t want hear about some lame excuse “I got caught up in the game” ….you actually believe that??? if 23 is suppose to be the man….then a coachisn’t gonna sit him for a qtr and a half….especially in a close game down the stretch……..He didn’t sub him in for some reason….. yes the pg did have turnovers…..his effort is what stood out to me especially on def. effort you either have it or you don’t…. notmany championships are won by offense.

In my 20+ years of recruiting...Phone calls = Ive recieved your resume.....Offer means= i want you for the job....And if your holding out because of waitng for the BIG 1 at this point of his career they normally dont come cause his last summer has passed. Thats Nike, Adidas and Under Armour as well as independent circuits.

Ill be there evaluating talent to help try and get a kid an opportunity to receive as much help financially towards his education in the near future. Im just a guy whos well respected with an eye for talent and word of honesty towards talent. Theres on an average of 3 to 5 kids whom have an opportunity to attend 1 of the power 7 conferences in Basketball in the Greater Houston area and im truthful as it gets with a College Coach and i dont go on potential or analitics. I think this post has gone to far. These are kids/ not professional! Looking at analytics… Give me a shot chart.. so I can figure out if #2,4, 23, 5 took good shots/bad. I think I read 5 should have took at least 10 shots. So analysts please tell me where those shots should have came from. Who shot to many? Who took a bad shot? Who looked 5 off just to get a shot up? Who didn’t feed the post? As a coach I need you to be more specific because I wasn’t at the game but I know y’all will continue to discuss this until the next game. So share some film on here for us that just wants to validate your point or the opposition’s. Like HooHead said earlier college’s recruit parents and the kids. If HJ gets into a run and gun versus Silsbee they will get ran out the gym. If they can slow the game down and force half court possessions, they will be in the game. Silsbee wants a track meet and has more sprinters then HJ.

I purposely stuck an IMO in what I tweeted, So it is subjective. It is a bigger game because none of the teams mentioned are 4A teams. Silsbee plays those teams and they beat all but one, they get some self satisfaction and get to stay 2nd in the polls. The Tigers probably won't face those teams again this year on the court. It won't be like that in this game because they may they face them again for bigger stakes in the playoffs. If Silsbee wins the thought is out there 'can I beat em again in the playoffs?' If they lose to HJ the polls may shift a little. A lil doubt rises, maybe. 'Can we figure this team out if we play them again in the playoff?' Last year these teams played early when a lot of Silsbee's players were still playing football. If I remember correctly HJ beat Silsbee by double digits. This year this game happens as both teams are almost peaking. This should be a very good game.

Just before school started back in August SETXSports lost the heart and soul of our online presence. Todd Broussard kept the content fresh and flowing on the website. Todd passed away due to complications from COVID. Todd was a fighter having overcome a heart transplant several years ago and he loved what he did for SETXSports. We are trying to keep up with everything, but we discover every day something else Todd did that we never knew about. For 16 years SETXSports.com has been the only place where you could get information about all sports in Southeast Texas, not just football. The help we need is people posting scores. We are working to get things like standings and records updated, but that takes scores. We have very few people that cant be everywhere all the time so we coaches and parents to send in the scores so we have data to work with. Kinda sounds like to me LCM will become WOS. Coach Peevy will recruit the best WOS players and WOS will be irrelevant going into the future. LCM’’s future looks promising but not so much for WOS.

This weird dimensional world we live in will slowly go back to normal OR it will double down hard and emulate what is currently going on in Australia, Germany, and Canada to a degree. The only difference between here and there is the 2nd amendment and our guns--------pretty awesome defense to have in our back pocket now.
