I am being told by some very high up UIL guys that this game will not take place. Bellville will advance to the 4th round. The UIL officials made this decision under the advisement of 89Falcon. Silsbee is appealing the decision.

I definitely agree that Lake Creek is a little overrated with the 1 ranking. They look good and they like to run it up on bad teams. Their toughest opponent this season I’m sure is Richmond Randle. That was a pretty close game until LC erupted for 21 straight points in the 4th Qtr. However, Randle had over 500 yards of offense, and LC won the turnover battle 4-0. Huntsville also had a 17 point 2nd half lead after punching them in the mouth early, but their defense tired and LC got the momentum back for the comeback win. PNG needs to key on bowling ball Byers and keep him in check at the line of scrimmage. Don’t let him get a head of steam or he is hard to bring down. I think when LC meets the physicality of PNG, they won’t stand up. Wouldn’t shock me if PNG runs away with it. Wrong team is #1.

It is a FOOTBALL game NOT a band contest. I guarantee the last thing on the coaches mind when picking the field was the band or drill team. If none of the bands or drill teams showed up this game it would still be played.........

Possibly... But what the heck, Ill provide some substance. You are correct, mostly, on Miller not visually standing out EVERY PLAY of the game. This is what makes him a great player and teammate. Also, why Silsbee is a balanced offensive team. He will rarely catch 10+ receptions, have 200+ receiving yards, multiple TDs, etc. His Junior year will probably be his best statistical year, for obvious reasons. Its no coincidence that Silsbee had 3000+ YDs rushing AND 2800+ Passing YDs as a TEAM. Biggest indicator of his ability to control & change the game is TDs. He makes the play when its in his hands to do so. Silsbee Tigers scored 80+ TDs last year... Dre'Lon Miller had 30% of those TDs. Execution of his ability is why he is the best player on the field and few people see the effectiveness because it is rarely accompanied by bright lights. jmo

I have silsbee stopping Bellville 5 plays of offense. 28 17. Round 4 tigers and Bulldogs. Jasper will beat them chumps from gobbler town 31 28. GET TO THEM AND THROUGH THEM. That's what coach t would tell us right before we take the field. To Coach Rowe and the Brahmans, I suggest: 1. Talk about their mamas. 2. Use that P word that women hate. 3. Use “boy,” not that other word. Its 2023. 4. Flop. Always flop. But honestly, i can see this one being a higher-scoring affair with the last possession telling the tale. Silsbee might have problems with the Slot T, but I don’t expect Bellville to stop that a Silsbee O, either. Extracurriculars in this one have the potential to be devastating for Silsbee in this matchup. I think the Tigers get it done.

I’ve said for years that Lamar would bring a lot of local fans out on Saturdays to see their hometown kids play. And there’s a ton of local talent that would play well in the FCS but hardly ever gets a look outside of the area. Two birds, one stone, but apparently no interest.

Legit should be 2-9 and not 4-7. TCU and Colorado St. had no business losing those games. It's year one, I get it. But it's mostly been hype and not substance.

A tale of two halves…..Guzman (#5) did not play the second half and I think that hurt us. Not that Farmer didn’t play well, but Guzman adds a spark and was making plays for the defense in the first half. I’m told he had the flu. Guess this was a reoccurrence since he was at the volleyball playoff game last weekend since having the flu last week. IDK, it seems our best players could never consistently stay on the field throughout the season. Our best players have to be tough and set the tone and the example for the rest of the team. Other than Gaskamp this didn’t happen all season. This was supposed to be our year, but without our best players the consistency evaded us all season. It’s disappointing….toughness and accountability has to be built during the offseason. We look to have a long way to go in the toughness category…..my opinion.

I think that's an outstanding idea and it's not like the school couldn't afford it based on the triple story press boxes and multi million dollar event centers that are going up on campus. The problem is that Dodge probably wouldn't agree to it if he could only pick a Black man and that's what is behind this whole charade. It's funny, I was talking to one of my closest Mustang buddies (who happens to be a black man) and we never cared what color our coach was when we were playing. Most of our Mustang brothers want the program we bled for back. It's doesn't matter in the least what race the man is. We've never cared about that. It's the outsiders that have infiltrated this community or people who never knew what it was to be a Mustang that have injected this worldly concept into our program. It's like a cancer.
