without discussing specific schools, I believe that any school in the state that opts up for football should have to opt up in all sports. Since "travel" is the issue, that's an issue for all sports, not just one. It would be fun watching the administration then try and explain to the community why opting up for an easier football district is worth the majority of the other sports programs suffering.

Was a great battle, lots of growing up from this one for sure. Credit to EC for being who they are as a program with great coaching they wouldn’t go away no matter how many times we got up 15. 3A is loaded with good teams and D1 will be wide open. Coach Hooks will be missed! I've had the honor and privilege of serving with him! We learned the importance of real sacrifice from him as well as putting others before yourself! RIP!

PNG is a strong team this year. They played great. They’ll make a good playoff run if they keep improving on the court, which I’m sure they will. I think they will give BU and WB a good run this year. What hurt BC was losing Smart to a high ankle sprain right before the game. His defense intensity sets the tone for us. Losing him showed big time but we will adjust. Good luck to PNG this year.

Had him in jr high for either science or health class. Long before he became the HC. A definite legend that impacted many lives. Part of the WO-S Mount Rushmore. Prayers for his family.

Now that’s interesting, would like to hear the thought process on that idea.

I think that all of 9-4A DII should "opt up". Would give us a chance to have a 4A State Champion and cross out the teams who opt up for no reason other than they are scared. Opting up would get our schools away from Carthage in the State Championship. Hopefully UIL will crack down on the "opt up" scam.

Enjoyed the game last night. Both teams fought hard but BH not being able to contain Memorial's QB on the outside was the difference. Congrats to Memorial on the win. I did not enjoy the several Memorial fans who stood up three quarters of the game in the middle of BH side to cheer on their team. When asked to sit by someone who was blocked, the response was no. There was plenty of seats on Memorial's side, but some people show no respect or class.

Man, HH must’ve woken up this year and learned how to coach. They wanted this man run out of town last year and now he’s in the state semifinals? Crazy how quickly things changed. Congrats WOS! Finish the job.
