Are we complaining about officials in a scrimmage? SMH4 points -
I think this first game is "sort of like" a 2nd scrimmage for PNG, figuratively speaking, but saying that Coach J. considers this game a scrimmage is taking it way too far. ALL first games, for all teams, regardless how many scrimmages there were, reveal things that need work, or changes that may need to be made. In PNG's scrimmages it's not uncommon for C. Joseph to run the exact same running play 5 or 6, or more, times in a row, with the same players, for whatever reason. But I'll venture to say that you won't see that happen next Friday night.3 points

I had a conversation with one of the Oline coaches at Memorial. He's confident so I will have to lean on his expertise. Knowing what PA lost on offense, I was concerned about the Oline...... All I will say is, this is the perfect year to get PA. This will tell if the Titans have evolved into an re-load situation or waiting on a class. Cuz if they have anything close to what happened last year, they will be a force to deal with the next 2 years after this one2 points -
Dugas looked good last night. I've been pleasantly surprised with the mix of run and pass for reasons you mentioned. I think Dugas will have a big year if that mix continues. Dugas threw for a TD last week and 2 last night. I'm also impressed with the back up RB. He had a 20 yd run for a TD last night. He's built much like Jefferson and runs a lot like him. He scored in both scrimmages. Jefferson gonna Jefferson.2 points

Nederland is going to be heavily dependent on the run game again this year the passing game while an improvement from last year is still not good I think defense will be the biggest improvement I like what I've seen so far...the real season starts next Thursday2 points -
People always talking about winners and losers in scrimmages, but I gotta go with AAW on this one. controlled HF 1, OF 0 two live quarters: HF 1, OF 1, but OF had an INT that would’ve most likely been a pick-6, or at the very least returned very deep. I think they score it, but the refs blew it dead when he was at the 25 or so and HF had some speed guys running that general direction to try and stop him, so who knows. Both defenses played well. OF only had maybe 4 first downs in 4 possessions, and 2 of those on penalties. HF moved the ball, but OF came up with 4 turnovers. HF has to shore things up on the offensive side of the ball. I was talking throughout the game, so if I got any details slightly wrong, please forgive me, OF.2 points

For sure. I left around 7:30. Didnt see any of the “live” stuff. But heard vidor played well during them. Im surprised the defense was as good as i have been hearing. Offense will get to clicking, slot t teams always take a couple weeks to get in sync. Live contact is alot different then simulated looks in practice. I think kirbyville will surprise some teams. They had some talent on O.1 point -

On the Bobcats side, the team looks total different in a better way from last week’s game. Not sure if Shepherds DE was the reason (they were wreaking havoc) but the OL held up much better. Still a couple of drop passes (some would say “where’s the flag”) on a few. Run game had a few good runs. The QB situation (for both sides) was hard to determine since the whistle was being blown early…. Probably very early for Orangefield but still early for both which took the scramble off the table. Now on to HJ.1 point

This is what I was told by a reporter at Lumberton/Silsbee scrimmage: Had a short controlled session. Lumberton did not score. Silsbee scored 3 TD's Live 2 quarters: Lumberton did not score. Missed a 64 yard FG attempt. Silsbee scored 4 TD's. 6 of the 7 Silsbee's TD's were via the pass. Had 1 rushing TD (McKinney 60 yarder) Was told Breeden looked very good. He had 4 passing TD's. Mathews had 2 passing TD's. Wide receiver Williams was the main target and had 4 TD's.1 point -

Eight runs over this game and the previous 3 not counting what they may do in a meaningless 9th inning. Not a good time for the offense to fizzle. Early in the game the booth was discussing Lambert's workload and then he struggled, if he has hit a wall it's going to get tough to hang on to the West and a series loss to the Angels at home is not helpful. It's baseball though and who knows what will happen at the end.1 point -

You are not likely winning this game. No point in using up arms. After it got to 14-2, I would have had no problem leaving King in for another inning. Game was over at that point.1 point -

Dawgs JV had no trouble moving the ball on Kv d. Still sloppy and theyll correct that. Old school coaches may have lost a step but no loss in intensity. Great to see TF on the sideline again. I've always rooted for Jasper except 1 week per year. Sometimes 2. That playoff game at Lamar was amazing with Barbay coaching across the field. Need to get that back. Js UP 🧢1 point -
Hard to forecast a State Championship but that is on the agenda. Basketball as well. Doesn’t take much of a hiccup to fall short on State Championships. As for the player in discussion, Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian, Ryan Day, Mike Elko and others believe him to be valuable for their programs. I doubt he has many equivalents in Texas and definitely not in 2A. He is currently the 54 ranked player in the nation for 2028.1 point

Also, to clear up the Silsbee QB situation. Beau Breeden, transfer QB from Lumberton who played JV last year, has not played a live snap yet. The QB that started the scrimmage was Morris, who also starts at LB on defense. Mathews, the soph., was the other QB that came in to play. Breeden is not cleared for contact just yet. This came straight from Coach Smith. @WOSdrummer99 @Tiger33 @Boogy10001 point -

You know as well as I do that scrimmages are run mostly not like real games. In controlled scrimmages there's no kicking game involved, there is no returning of interceptions or fumbles, no tackling of the QB (so no sacks that would put the down and distance different), plays are limited to a certain number therefore a team could be driving but reach their limit of plays, since no kickoffs ball always starts on the 30, 2nd and 3rd teams play (which in most cases they never see the field in games as an entire unit), the play clock is not used so therefore there are no delay of game penalties, etc. etc. Most importantly, there are no won/loss records that include scrimmages. Now, if all high school scrimmages were run just like NFL preseason games, then I could see where one could claim a win or a loss. Even the NFL doesn't keep up with scrimmages between two teams which happens a lot. Most times two teams that play a preseason game will scrimmage each other a day or so beforehand. There are no scores or wins or losses accounted for in those. Even when high school scrimmages are "game like" they are never 100% game like. Most times there is a running clock and the play clock is not used accurately. Let's be honest, there are just too many variables that come into play or not come into play in controlled scrimmages where a win or loss can be claimed. I think it's find to state that one team "dominated, had the upper hand, put a hurting on, etc." on the other team. Particularly when it's obvious that one team is much better than the other or in some cases the team is much worse than the other. To put a win or a loss in a scrimmage is just not an accurate way to assess a scrimmage in my opinion.1 point
