Mungi and Smart are definitely difference makers, and great young men, but Bush, Sylveria, Dennison, and several of their support players were all there. Keep in mind, we are missing two starters as well; Thomas & Sims. (Thomas should return mid December) It was a great game, but Orangefield is just different this year. The players are all working together for the win. BC faceguarded/denied Scales from the start and all of the Bobcats worked hard by screening or chipping the defender every chance they got to really disrupt BC's defensive game plan. This year's Bobcat Team is just that a TEAM, which is very refreshing from the nonsense we saw last year. Last week they gave 5A Nederland all they could handle without our football guys and the two starters we are still missing. Coach Whitmire and his staff have really set the bar with discipline this offseason, and that reality check has aligned this group! The message has been sent, "either get onboard or get out" and us parents love it! Couldn't be more proud of this group and looking forward to a great season!

My biggest question mark on Hardin going into the playoff is whether the bigger stages would cause them to get sh*t in their necks and fold. Last week, at a premier stadium, against a team full of great athletes, in a closely contested game, Hardin answered those questions for me. Now, the stadium gets bigger, the athletes get better, and the stage lights get brighter. Playing after Thanksgiving for the first time in maybe ever, they will get a chance to prove it again. The old adage goes, "There ain't any turkeys left after Thanksgiving", and Hardin has proven they ain't no turkey.

Kilgore by 3 TDs. BC is a good team, but Kilgore is a whole different level. If BC can hang in the game with them, I would be very surprised. Watched Kilgore's last 2 playoff games. They are very impressive on both sides of the ball and are very likely to be in the championship game. Good Luck BC. Rep SETX best you can.

The fact that NDN press said Conroe, TX as opposed to Shenandoah is enough to cast some doubt. Not to mention the Dave Campbell site is inoperable and MaxPreps showed us playing Texas High for a few days, there's just some muddy water out there. Everybody wants to be sure before they start making arrangements.

He's talking about Coldspring

I, and others, have referred to this judge as radical. First, he's a Clinton appointee and second he knows, or should know, that Halligan's appointment was valid. Therefore he made this false ruling anyway. Now, I understand about him saying without prejudice. Two things: He's either a radical with a conscious OR he's afraid of being put through the ringer of possibly being impeached. That's my opinion anyway!

To me, BH has a chance because of a fairly well balanced O. Maybe they can keep Weiss a little off balance on D. At the least, Weiss will have to respect the BH pass game, and won’t be able to just load the box. BH’s issue will be if Weiss plays up tempo all game, and doesn’t give the BH D a chance to sub or rest. Their tempo can be a killer. They snap the ball with less than 10 seconds gone on the play clock, and catch your D with poor matchups and a tired secondary. I see the winner needing to score in the 40’s at a minimum. Both teams may be in the 40’s! Should be a fun game to watch. Which team gets more possessions may be the key. These are just my observations from watching both teams. I will say Simper knows how to play a shoot out coming from the Cy district. So, the BH staff won’t be caught flat-footed. I’m still going with Weiss. But—barring TO’s—I don’t see it being easy. Weiss is still a young team though. I keep waiting for them to make some youthful mistakes. So far, they really haven’t.

Why being a first year coach would you change everything? To do it his way right? Well why is things going back now since his way didn’t work? He’s realizing his way didn’t work or does he believe his days are numbered and he better do something?

If you are going to compare, then you have to compare the first 4 years for each and not the entire body of work. Otherwise it's not a fair comparison. Not sure why Hickman wasn't qualified. Also, debating that he should or should not have been hired is kind of irrelevant now. I said all along that following two HOF's would be a very difficult job for a first year head coach. I think H and the Mustangs are headed in the right direction. It just wasn't fast enough for some.

Thompson and Hooks are both hall of fame coaches,Hickman is at best a mediocre coach..that may change and when it does I’ll be the first to congratulate him…until then stop comparing them because there is no comparison.You do know he wasn’t even qualified for the job,the crooked superintendent had to change some stuff up to get him in..that’s politics that shouldn’t be in schools but it is and it’s disgusting for taxpayers and that would be me,do you still live here and involved in some of this mess?

Pretty good win for OF with only having one practice with the football kids. Really wish they could have talked Gonzo into playing, but even without him OF’s depth is going to be its biggest weapon. Second half they really pulled away even with Willis being in foul trouble.

The good thing about it is that the players don't care what people think or say about them for gaslighting or districting because, some WO-S people just don't get that outsiders need to have negativity to stay full. Let's Go Mustangs, Happy Thanksgiving, be thankful we are still playing and, ignore the B.S stay focused.

Don’t look past heritage

In 2011 BC lost in the Bi-District round to Coldspring 7-0. Coldspring would go on to lose in the semi finals by 7 to the eventual state champ. That 2011 roster was very talented on both sides of the ball.

Transitive comparisons do matter, to a degree. In schedule order, BH beat Lufkin by 28. Then PAM won by 30. Then Weiss won by 38. Who took their foot off the gas, or didn't? Who had what injuries then, or didn't? Was Lufkin equally motivated in all three of these losses? Was anyone looking ahead to the next week? Too many factors here to say much definitively. Now if Lufkin had lost by 50 to team A, then lost by just 1 to team B in the final seconds of the game, then I easily see A >>> B. Here I just don't see much. JMO.

There have been comments all year that some think this 2025 team may be Coach Joseph's best yet. There are a lot of numbers to statistically support that too. I don't care who we are playing this week or in the upcoming weeks, the Indians have what it takes to win another state championship. They have one in 2023 and were very close to one in 2022. The Coach Jeff Joseph career so far at PN-G is a real story still in the making with school records falling all over the place.
