Had a hell of tailgate today. I smoked a pork butt and 3 racks of spare ribs. Started on that butt at 11pm last night. Ribs at 6am. Was awesome along with that Lamar win.

The jury is still out. DC is the basics here. With the talent we have we should've had the game sealed when we held up 4 fingers. Never should've been a game winning FG with 44 secs left. The decisions we see them make tell us we will not reach that mountain top again. And #4 won that DC and gave all the glory to god. I know its a team game and all that. But u cant deny his impact.

Hope it goes like the Dayton game, good to see second team getting some reps and developing their skills, never know when someone is going to have to step up. It also preserves the starters. I'm impressed with #18 he looks like another option in running situations and his throws have looked good. I've said it before, but deep runs mean so much for sustaining a winning tradition. I'll just use #2 as an example, he already has around 25 games at the varsity level and he may not even have his Texas DL yet. It's also great fun to see the Seniors who don't play much get to go have some fun. I appreciate Coach Joseph letting them play. They paid a great price in commitment by enduring long hours and tough workouts to be out there. I also gotta give some props to the Band,etc for their part. Lastly, thanks to the coaches and their families who make many sacrifices during this season so we can enjoy this time. HIgh School football in Texas is the best deal in sports. And High school football in our area is special. PNG fans be thankful, grateful and humble.

Playoffs time! I love it and going watch many game during the playoffs as much as I can. Please post and who do you plan to watch. Couldn't agree more with your analysis. LP's secondary has given me grey hair this year. As much as I hate to see corners playing 10 yards off the receivers I can understand why. Even with the large cushion the corners and safetys still get beat deep and are out of position more times than not. Weiss QB will be licking his chops watching game film. Ok done with my rant. Pulling for LP. Optimistic prediction is LP doing just enough again 49 - 42.

The new norm at WOS is celebrating a district championship like it was a state championship. Wos avoids La Vega in rd 2 so hopefully they can go 4 rounds this year.

I’m glad they won the DC but as stated above that’s just the basics here. Very happy for the kids that’s been putting forth the effort. But somehow something still seems off. They may be winning but not in the Mustang fashion we’ve been used to the last 40 years. Speaking to folks associated with various schools across the triangle, they don’t have the fear or respect for WO-S that they used too. When they see u on the schedule they don’t automatically think well that’s a loss that week anymore . But having said all that, Go Mustangs! Congrats on the district championship.

Wow way to go Lamar. I missed this one and glad they won. I just didn’t think they could beat SELa after getting beat by UIW. Glad they proved me wrong. They should beat McNeese and I hope they can win at SFA this week. It is going to be tough. 8-2 now is very good

Doesn’t help that nobody in that district could finish better than 3rd (quite possibly 4th) in the local 4A-D2 district that 3 of them ran from competing against.

So with CT the last 4 years gave up 32 points to Fannett with a 4-0 wins. Hickman gave up 95 points and is 1-3 against them. Let me guess you’re going to use the cop out and say it was the drop in the talent at WOS.. The point is CT is a better defensive coach.

I’m not looking for anything. Community/parent support trickles down into player mentality. Perhaps what was needed from the start was to just be supportive.. and realize that changes that happen overnight take a little time. I'm just calling out the ridiculousness of what is often seen in the coaching world. Win - Hero.. Lose - Idiot.. Never taking into account the vast number of things that influence the outcome of a season. CT made it to the state championship in 2017. Then didn’t get back (or close) in 18.. 19.. 20.. 21.. what happened? Was he a worse coach at the end of his career? Or were there other factors? Bottom line.. the WOS community as a whole was absolutely ridiculous towards this coach at first .. and obviously still (“He overall hasn’t been good enough…is that what you’re looking for?”).. so I’m going to bring this up with every success. And I might be old, but my memory is still strong.

Always a big fan of the purple Indians - well coached and talented team. Sophomore backup is not a QB he will be back at WR next season. Coaches son will be back at the helm along with #.33 freshmen RB . I wasn't completely disappointed in the loss I thought our coach did a great job of game management with a brand new back field. I don't support some of his sideline antics but that's above my paygrade. GO INDIANS !

!!:0/57/F The game was essentially called with 3 minutes left due to frustrations running over on both sides. At that point, the officials decided to run out the clock with no more plays being run. When I turned off the radio call, the Jasper announcers were saying that no one (including the head coaches) was even shaking hands. Based on everything I've heard about our guys this year, this is not surprising at all. We've got to conduct ourselves a lot better than this going forward.

Terrible situation for the program. Poor decisions were made. However the degree that they are being called terriblecheaters may be a bit much. It’s not like they orchestrated a cheating scheme. If you’re a coach and it’s game time and the opponents plays fall in your lap, how many would actually take the high road? I’m not defending their actions or justifying anything. Just saying. The ruling was just.

Just looked at scores from this season and last, you are accurate about improvement. Buna was averaging less than 7 points a game through the first 9 games last year and with a 22 point "explosion" in the final game bumped the average up to 8 points. That's a rough offensive season. This year the offense outscored the previous season's average in all but the final game. Definitely some improvement and a few very close games. If the team is young like you state your optimism could be sound.

Some of you guys are delusional. We have played with basically a JV team for the last 2 years. The cougs have been in shotgun all year running slot t and spread concepts. Every team has played press man and loaded the box. Youth is the issue, not the offense. The record this year was the same but there was a vast improvement from the previous year. Games were very competitive for the most part with a ton of soph starters. I would not be surprised to see them be over .500 next year and even better the next.

I have the Bucs & Cats splitting this year in the regular season this year. I am curious to see how everybody else in the district looks.
