  1. According to someone I know who called PayK12…there’s not enough tickets left to fill the duplicates that were sold and the solution with agreement from NISD was to contact those affected in order by timestamp on original purchase and when they run out of tickets, all others will get a refund…not acceptable! Sorry, I just think NISD has some fault in this and should’ve figured out a way to accommodate everyone who purchased tickets because there were TONS of issues with PayK12 last time the game was at Nederland so they had TWO years to prepare or switch to a service that could handle the traffic but THEY chose not to!!

It starts at the top. Lamar athletics is where it is, first because Jaime Taylor is a University President who believes in the value of athletics. And he went out and found an ELITE AD in Jeff O’Malley. Rossomando was not sitting under our noses and at the time was a “who’s that?” hire. O’Malley went across the country and found a program changer. Hopefully we can keep all of them for a while.

  5. Does it matter if we agree? It's funny we all of a sudden care about Government spending but when DOGE came in and started cutting waste and silly projects the left (and YOU if I recall) lost their minds..... Here is a comment from the cattle association. Farmers are a HUGE part of the MAGA base and I have no doubt Trump will take care of them. Trumps tariffs just this year have collected 165 BILLION in custom duties..... HE will make sure this does not hurt farmers. “USCA supports affordable food prices for American families. But we do oppose policies or loopholes that manipulate the market to address a solution that will be solved through natural market behavior. This approach weakens our industry’s foundation and undermines rural America. “We have appreciated President Trump’s ‘America First’ priorities, which have consistently highlighted the importance of supporting U.S. producers and reinforcing national food security. This moment presents an excellent opportunity to show genuine American-first leadership by prioritizing strong domestic production, and fair, transparent markets for both ranchers and consumers.”

I should know by tomorrow and then post my pregame meal schedule. I do know what I'll be eating Saturday. Ribeyes and boiled shrimp at the tailgate party in Baton Rouge!!

I have not really heard any details. It is a complicated issue. I think expanding Medicaid to people below a certain income could work. At the same time, in my job, I see people that make $250K a year or more, but according to their tax returns they make 12,000/year. Like I said, complicated. I don't see a bipartisan agreement on a single payer system ever....

I just looked it up - the penalty for not having insurance ended in 2019. I always thought it was a little unconstitutional to force you to buy something or penalize you.

  23. I understand the frustration, although I don't have a so-called dog in the fight this year, neither with trying to buy tickets, nor a grandchild or other relative involved in the game. But I wouldn't think that NISD can really do anything. They hired a 3rd party, and I wouldn't expect them to have hold the 3rd party's hand. Reportedly PNG previously used the same 3rd party, but apparently either learned their lesson, or else got a better deal with another outfit. Apparently information about any bad experience(s) weren't shared with NISD folks. NISD I'm sure wants to bring in as much $ as possible, that's reportedly the reason this game isn't played at Lamar. But surely there are codes that must be followed, for fire and emergency, and a maximum capacity for the stadium. It's not like the old standing room only days I guess. Otherwise, then take everyone's money and let them stand behind the end zones, just as you say.

[Hidden Content] Need to read the details. There’s a clearer explanation in The Wall Street Journal today. But, it’s behind a paywall. Note: My wife and I are on ACA & have been since 2018. We’re very familiar with the positives and negatives.

  28. Nederland should do more to fix the problem with the tickets. You’ve got people who paid for tickets only to find out they were double-sold. I say open up seating for everyone who thought in good faith that they had tickets. The more people the merrier, especially for something as important to our community as this one. And, this was a massive screw up by the administration. It’s not as if they were unaware of the amount of volume the website would get for this game, and blaming it on payK12 isn’t good enough — They should have made sure they were ready to host a game of this size, and that includes picking a ticketing provider that can handle it. The best way to make it right is to open up expanded seating. A refund is a slap in the face - People want to see the game, not get their money back.

We actually agree with this. I have no issue expanding Medicare or Medicaid. Let them handle everyone with pre-existing conditions or folks that can't afford private insurance. That is what drove up the cost of private insurances. Then folks WITHOUT pre-existing conditions could apply with private insurance companies that won't accept pre-existing conditions and have much lower rates. Now, what do you do with the folks not responsible enough to pay for insurance or simply don't want insurance?

  43. We love him and the rest of the staff! They are pouring into our kids and we are thankful for that. The amount of senior leadership we lost last season is proving to be the difference. A lot of lessons are being learned by our young team but they fight until the very end. Better make the most of your opportunity now because Nederland is going to be loaded for the next several years with a coaching staff that is more than capable of getting the most out of them, both on and off the field.

There is absolutely no reason for anyone to complain or be negative about the state of Lamar football. But the ultimate site "realist"(pessimist) will most definitely find something to whine and complain about. Coach Rossomando is doing a great job.
