  3. Even the situational use is more than we did under the last coach. Reid Richard barely came off the field in the playoffs during the 2023 season. And, when there is situational use, it’s clear the player has been trained well even in their temporary role.

I’m going to assume he is school aged. Tell your son that evil exists. Stay away from it. Tell him to do what he knows is right, to stay away from bad kids and listen to his mama. Tell him to seek knowledge and read a lot. Tell him hurting ANYONE over things they say is never OK no matter what. Most importantly, tell him if he drapes himself with the love of Jesus Christ, he will have eternal life in Heaven.

  6. Video is poor but it just makes sense that what he has is the rifle, to me, anyway. What would have made more sense was to acquire a rifle not connected to the shooter and leave it, but it’s been confirmed we’re not dealing with a pro here.

Looks like he put something in a ledge/gutter with one hand, climbed on edge of ledge, dropped whatever it was, jumped down, and then retrieved and ran. Since the authorities found the rifle in the woods, I’d make the assumption that was it. I said it wasn’t in his pants leg first thing.

  8. Leaning towards attending this one. Either this one, United at Jasper or Buna at Kountze. If I go to this one, definitely will be eating at Papadeaux's and sitting in press box and not standing on sidelines. BISD always has me my reserved spot in press box. But Buna at Kountze can have me at Mama Jack's and all you can eat seafood buffet.

Houston has to go at minimum 4-2 this week. Take both series. This is the biggest week of the season.

Yepp, even a secondary full of Ed Reed and Darrelle Revis clones wouldn't do very well in coverage if the opposing QB could sit in the pocket unbothered all game.

I said it appeared to be wrapped in something. a loose bag (not a gun case) or something like a blanket. I just read for the first time that the gun was found wrapped in a towel in the woods. The video would very much appear to me to be something long and rigid wrapped loosely in something that is flapping around it. Previously watching the video I can honestly say I thought it was a blanket or maybe even a towel. This is more than enough to confirm it for me. As for the question about the first :28 seconds of the video: I'd say it's a very good chance that he had the gun either already in place on the roof or stashed near by. It wouldn't make much sense to risk getting caught bringing the gun the day of the event, especially when he couldn't be sure what security would look like. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me a bit if he had the gun wrapped in a towel when he stashed it to keep it from getting wet or being spotted...

  18. LRSW has athletes, size, talent and speed, they are either poorly coached or not buying into what they are taught. It's a clear waste to watch such athletes with poor fundamentals and timing. Hard to watch, they have no mantra for winning, just go through the motions. That was a last minute fill in game for last season on the two year contract. Thankfully after realignment Lufkin will have new non district opponents, of course depending on where the Panthers end up. I don't count this game much, not sure what Lufkin got out of playing the game except everybody but the trainers got to play.

I think it probably would, if you weren’t used to that sort of thing. Which might account for why he missed where he was shooting. It’s a very safe bet he was aiming for the head or the chest and made a bad shot and got lucky. And it’s 100% that if it were a pro taking the shot they would’ve never aimed where Kirk was hit. Why aim for a low % target when center mass is a guaranteed hit, and the head is a guaranteed kill (and bigger target than the neck)?

Like others have mentioned, 200 yds is a relatively easy shot for a lot of people. With the right scope it’s reaaaaallly easy. Awhile back I hit a plate at 200 yds 3 shots in a row with a Thompson Center Contender PISTOL that I’d never shot that had a good scope on it. Also, at the distance he was shooting a 5 mph crosswind isn’t a factor at all.

Absolutely. Awhile back I had my wife in the red at 200 yds in half a box of shells, and she’d fired exactly one bullet from a rifle before that time in her whole life. This kidad’s dad is a cop. Good chance he grew up hinting, great chance he grew up shooting.

If you hunt, there’s a thing called buck fever. I’m 58 and I still get it. My heart starts beating through my ears. My hands shake, and I can barely think. But if I take just a few seconds, relax my breathing and focus, I can shoot a deer every time right where I’m aiming.

  28. No disrespect to the Hornets as an Onalaksa guy, I’ve just always adopted Tarkington as my football team. I think this week they will take a huge step. But man, the Hornets under the direction of Coach Taylor are doing a fantastic job.

It’s not a very difficult shot. If he was aiming for the head (which makes sense), it was only a fair shot. Nothing spectacular. I had my son grouping within 1-1/2” of a bullseye at about 150 yards before he turned 12. Deer Hunters shoot 150 to 200 yard shots all the time. Sometimes a lot further.

I see what you are saying. Please watch especially close when he picks the bag up off the ground after jumping off the roof. The rifle is 3 1/2 feet long. The bag flexes quite a bit to have a rigid rifle in it. I’m sure the grainy video doesn’t help. I’ve been wrong before. Just what my eyes and brain are seeing.

Very true. The power of suggestion is real. I also think the reverse is true. I’m not so proud that I can’t admit to being fooled, mistaken, or flat out wrong. It’s always been my nature to question everything, especially something like this. I will be that way till I die. I posted that they caught the suspect and soon after, they said it wasn’t him, it was the old guy. I thought s was wasted time and the real suspect had more time to escape. Then I thought….distraction. I simply can’t help how I feel about things. It all has to make sense.

  35. It speaks to the quality of coach Neumann was. When Joseph started playing guys both ways, it was immediately clear what a difference it made. Seemed almost too obvious. We should have been doing it all these years. Few, if any, high school teams have the depth to have exclusive specialists. It’s arrogance to assume you’re so good you only need to use your best tools some of the time.

  36. Blake Broussard was 29/33 for 356 yds and 3 TDs, and added another on the ground. Through three games he’s completing 82.2% of his passes with 6 TDs and 0 INTs. Also averaging over 60 yds a game on the ground

I will make this one comment on the “both sides are guilty” argument. Big girl says that we celebrated Trayvon Martin and George Floyd’s deaths. That’s the biggest racist lie in the world, but if she repeats it and spreads it around enough, people will believe it. The Minnesota senator was also mentioned. Yes, she was killed by a so-called right leaning Christian. Am I proud? No. Did I celebrate? No. Charlie Kirk’s killer was raised in a conservative family, but no matter how much we try and raise our kids the right way, they can be indoctrinated. So “both sides” can have some kooks. This will be the point I am trying to make. When the Minnesota Senator and husband were killed, how many people in congress and Fox News made snide remarks about their murders…..NONE. How many people in congress and MSM, and even teachers have made snide remarks about Charlie Kirk’s murder? How many people have rejoiced in Kirk’s murder on social media. It’s really sickening the numbers. True, both sides have their black sheep, but for me, the left is more easily triggered (wrong pronouns) and are simply very callous in their feelings for those of us on the right. Let a man wear a MAGA hat while walking down a street in a liberal town. Now, let a man wear a Biden or Kamala shirt while walking down the street in a conservative neighborhood and you tell me who is safer. Last post on the subject. Not interested in the back and forth. I hate no one.
