Yes but also Houston area traditional rich schools making state championships and having to travel hours away vs DFW taking a yellow dog 5 mins. Rotate the state championship game around between DFW, Houston, SA. UIL caters to DFW can’t change my mind on it.3 points -

Nah. Just y'alls turn in the barrel. WB did it for 2 years after being lumped in with The Woodlands et al. PA's D1 district did it for 2 years plus for the last 4 years, had a 'district of death' in the 1st round in either region. It wouldn't surprise me if the local 4A D2 district was moved to region 2. It would be stretch but I wouldn't be surprised The Bubble schools could have opted up. With WB and United dropping, that would have been a nice 6-8 team local district in Reg 3 D1. Too much like right What we east of the Trinity and south of, say US 190, have to understand is this is NOT an area of growth. The UIL wants 250 or so schools and y'all(coaches and AD's) wanted pre determined divisons for all of the lower classes. So, with the facts laid out, there are several 'dead' areas east of the Trinity. Several ISD's in no man lands so you will see more cooky alignments as long as the current paradigm is in place It's the new reality as long as the growth here is slow/stagnant2 points -

I think about those kids crying mommy while going under water. She heard their screams then concocted a crazy story to cover it up. They should play those screams for her to hear till the devil comes for her.1 point

Well we can now move past that trolling nomination (and for the record, no one appreciates a good troll more than me). A lot of speculation that this was an elite chess move by Trump to get Gaetz to resign since he basically doesn’t get along with anyone in Congress and he knew he had zero chance in getting him and his joker-esque eyebrows confirmed anyway. If so, well played Mr. President, well played. Makes a lot more sense from that perspective.1 point -

I know math and geography is hard for the UIL. Move District 10 to District 6. Longest travel for 1st round possible is 174 miles Move District 6 to District 8. Longest travel for 1st round possible is 206 miles Move District 8 to District 10. Longest travel for 1st round possible is 101 miles. Instead we get as it is now District 7 and 8 with 292 miles District 10 with 233 miles It is very obvious they cater to the Dallas area teams.1 point

They don't win on a consistent basis. In the 6A district West Brook just got out of, the middle schools had better weight rooms! Every team also had turf practice fields, which are a helluva better to practice on when it rains. Also, teams that have indoor facilities have a major advantage. When it rains, they can have a regular practice. They don' have to use a gym, where you have a quarter of the space and you can't hit. Yeah, facilities matter!1 point -
Not that I am aware of, but I am sure there are athletes in Livingston who just need to be set up to succeed.1 point

I would respectfully disagree. Btw, both my parents were United States Marines - my Dad was a lifer... 30 years. First, we need to address the deficit. I would say that the administration needs to come up with (and adhere to) a budget for ALL programs while making sure there are ample funds for veteran's programs. I wouldn't just start throwing money at ANY program without a realistic budget. Additionally, as relates to veterans, I would hope for a revamped VA before I just poured money into that cesspool of inefficiency. Let's get the deficit addressed first which is only going to happen with unpopular and difficult cuts and doing away with frivolous uncontrolled spending. I'm not saying to kick veterans to the curb. I'm saying that we need to get our house in order before we keep spending additional monies that we don't really have.1 point

Got, >20 years ago it was less of a factor. It is overwhelmingly a factor now. Parents have easy transportation to anywhere within 50 miles. They move to locations where their kids will have better resources. I am assuming you could not come with any example of winning programs that have poor facilities?1 point -

There is TDS and there is TWS and they are equally dangerous in my opinion. Gaetz getting that appointment was nothing more than payback for his unwavering support. You could probably poll the members of the bar of this country and that appointment would get less approval than Biden leaving office. Much like Thomas was used as an example above, maybe the biggest DEI appointment failure in the history of this country. He will almost certainly go down as the WOAT on the high court. Don’t believe me, ask Scalia when you get to heaven.1 point

College Station (41) vs Crosby (10) - FINAL
Cougar14.2 reacted to Cougtalk for a topic
It's really confusing because it's a systems that have been proven to work are the opposite of this system, Crosby is at its best when it puts all its athletes into space and lets them be athletes, Running downhill has never been the culture of Crosby teams and does not exemplify the advantages Crosby typically has on the field which are superior athlete's and positional play. I think these kids could thrive is a mode spread out system, and the Sophomore QB showed signs of being pretty good throughout it's just a shame that #2 and #0 go out without having a winning season as top contributors when we saw how great they were as sophomores. Feels like a bunch of wasted potential, but I'm sure those two kids will go on to be undervalued prospects in college and will have great college careers. This team underachieved and that's honestly on the coach at the end of the day 7-16 is not a Crosby Coach. The only thing this coach is gonna do is reinvigorate the two HS talk because go to 6a completely unprepared is going to be bad for the school and community.1 point -
As far as the experience, what I’d needed? Leon Panetta was a Secretary of Defense under Obama. He sure much had great qualifications! But did he or was he just an insider and trusted ally of the president? According to Wikipedia, Panetta went into the Army in 1964 as a Second Lieutenant and left the service in 1966 as a First Lieutenant. Then he went into private practice as a lawyer and over a decade later entered Congress. Apparently his big breakthrough was chief of staff to Bill Clinton. Fast-forward to Morocco Obama’s presidency, Panetta was named CIA director because…… oh, well connected as a White House chief of staff. And hey, he did two years in the Army. As director of the CIA, Wikipedia says that he supported Barack Obama’s use of drones to strike terrorist. Well, since he supported Obama for using drones, he was picked for Secretary of Defense. So a guy who spent two years in the Army 40 years earlier was picked because he was an insider and chief of staff for Bill Clinton and supported Barack Obama all drone strikes (I did too). I’m not criticizing his pick as Secretary of Defense make compare hair service to a man who spent 20 years in a military, so I have three tours in combat and we’re retired as a Major. He apparently is not qualified but a two year once promoted officer because he was chief of staff for a former president, is qualified. If it’s good for the goose, is it good for the gander? If they have some serious issues, that can be proven with Trump‘s pick, great throw it out there, but when talking about experience, how is that even an issue?1 point

pakronos reacted to purple reign for a topic
That's the point! It's supposed to be confusing to the opponent. They have a multiple offense and one of them is the T-formation with 3 backs which you don't see hardly anybody using. RBs should all be ready to go and they will probably use 4 of them, at least. They also feature the shotgun and sometimes use the I formation. On defense they run an aggresive 4-2-5 with speed. This game will be on Texan Live or via NFHS.1 point -
I'm not going to say too much about this game. We all know College Station's playoff pedigree, they are coming into this game as the favorite by +3 according to DCTF. Lufkin's the underdog again. I know too what Lufkin has this year, know those kids determination and what they have had to overcome injury wise to get to the second round. They have had people stepping up all over in big ways. Panther starting QB and LB have been out most all year, starting Safety out for last 5 games. None will be back. A couple others may be out too. Those Lufkin kids know who they are at this point, they will give a good account of themselves this Friday and there will be no excuses. A Storm is coming!.1 point
