  1. I would imagine the Soph had won the job anyway , regardless of injury . Tigers problem is injury of linebackers.
  2. Toss up at this point, leaning toward Jasper
  3. with Neds 5a Roster size, the fact Tigers are missing Def starters , and this team is still trying to find its rythem on offense, I'm going with Ned by two T D' s. JMO But, I could be wrong
  4. As soon as they get in an hour of practice in the rain
  5. I watched scrimmage, either Lumberton is not very good, or Silsbee is really good ? One could say! lol
  6. no, I was told he had an on going injury that was fixed after first of the year, hopefully be ready for the season.
  7. I'm no expert in Warren , but there are factors at Warren that currently would prevent Surratt from winning a state title in 7 years. Now if He could have well paid assistant coaches in abundance, lavish facilities , unlimited funding, full Admin support, on everything he does, yes he might have a shot in 7 years. But those are big asks. In my opinion ,he is an Elite coach for sure, but being an Elite coach does not guarantee a State championship in 7 years. I think there are several Elite coaches around the state that never win a title or even play for one.
  8. Interesting thread, but something that hasn't been mentioned, is money. Not just the AD/HC salary, but base pay for teachers and assistant coaches, and Stipends. What is spent on Weight room, Facilities, indoor practice fields ? Some schools have advertising set up through their privately donated electronic scoreboard ,that generates money for the Athletic programs , while some Admins take that money and put in the regular school budget. All of the above weighs a lot toward the difference between a good coach and becoming an elite coach and winning a Title. jmo
  9. Receivers not great at this point, slants and screens are not easy. If he had the kids from last three years, he would have over 2000 yards passing already. This also affects his confidence as a passer, why sometimes he slow to release the ball. I can think of 4 interceptions caused by ball bouncing out of receivers hands and into defender for Int. Some young kids out there, future looks good , as far as receivers though
  10. Morris has to be leading in the district, or close anyway if that is true
  11. #19, was by far leading tackler, but decided to leave the team, before the Tarkenton game. Would have helped against WOS
  12. Running the clock
