There are a lot more open enrollment ISDs than you think that are out there as well....Dallas ISD is far from unique in that regard I do believe TX should consider doing like Louisiana and creating classifications and seperating out open enrollment ISD's vs non-open enrollment ISD's

Because thats an ISD decision, PNG could tomorrow go open enrollment if they choose to.

I am out on this discussion. I will say one thing He was a coach at NS. That is a fact. Not sure Coach Izzy if you are still coaching so thats why I said was. What you all are talking about I am staying out of. Izzy I will say this... Walking out of Jerry World yesterday an elderly gentleman wearing that exact same style ring just walks up to me and gives me a hug. Out of the blue. He said congrats PNG and he said TY PNG for bringing it back to Houston. I know we arent Houston, but this man warmed my heart. By the way the ring was from his grandson who was a freshman on the 2021 team and let his grandfather wear his ring to the game. He was such a gracious and sweet man. He was very proud of his grandson who was starting in the game. I was heartbroken for him when I heard the score. He was so kind. He was so proud that a team from our area won and his words "way to represent". NS is a great school.

Quinn ewers stays in HS his senior year instead going off to Ohio State I believe he wins the ship that year..

They couldn't get it scheduled. Coach Davis didn't want to schedule Silsbee while Silsbee was in the football playoffs. Wanted to play them later in the season. I agree with that. It should be when the two teams are at full strength. The problem arose when HJ's district added a school to the district schedule. West Fork decided to play a varsity schedule this season instead of waiting till next year in the new realignment. West Fork only has freshmen and sophomores. Because of the addition, it added two more district games for HJ and the window was closed on when those two teams could play each other. Originally they wanted to play last Friday or sometime this week but with the additional district games along with Silsbee still having to play two tournaments, it took that out of the equation. I talked to both coaches about it. They will be back on schedule next year.

However, he has a very big opportunity to build something right here. He’s played in 2 SC games in 2 years and won one!! Is that for lack of talent??? You tell me.. Nobody, other than WOS can say they did this… If he gets a few kids, like the Nederland RB, PNG, can make a run again. It’s not impractical to have this happen in our area. PNG has all the support in the world. So he may leave one day, he may not. I don’t see it this year, he has a shot at doing something really special. Lots of talent coming back. Including a QB, WR, and RB..

Even though PNG is like 90 miles or so from Houston realizing this or not but not only yall played for SETX but yall played for the Houston area as well and not too many people will get that but the way yall represented yalls team like yall did and especially the fans they had no choice but to group yall with the Houston area so it was pretty obvious from the start but once I'm so proud of what you guys did yesterday and I hope this will be the start of a run here. (Except when you guys do play Huntsville again I have to roll with them since I work for the school district 😆)

PNG O Line was not outmatched. Gave QB Bailey (also not outmatched) time to throw and opened enough holes for Nguyen to get down field. SOC big goal line package was stout. SOC DBs were fast, but we exploited that D over the middle with their LBs playing so close to the line. PNG D Line and LBs adjusted in second half and stopped the run. Forced the pass and you were right, we put pressure on QB and changed the game. Green was great but Bears staff were stupid not to throw some swing passes or screens to him. One on one he was trouble but they never worked to get him one on one. PNG Indians 2023 5A DII State Champions LEGENDARY

He would have had a defense that probably would have won one or two State Titles!

Let's make something perfectly clear. Miller is great, but he is not Silsbee's best basketball player and he will tell you that himself. Harris is da man

They do have the talent to take 2nd in district but will they have the discipline? They play their best if they keep their mouths shut, head down and just play the game. Last night, I saw what I assume was a parent on the front row literally heckling players for Silsbee. BC doesn't need that garbage and the cop had to go talk to him. BC has some talented kids and the shifty little point guard can handle the ball well but someone needs to go take it from him when he starts playing selfish, ball-hogging and throwing up forced shots and that seems to be the pattern in every game I've been able to catch this season. Outside looking in, that ruined the entire mojo of that BC team last night. Robertson seems like a good coach but he will need to get ahold of his players before they end up losing out on a possible playoff run due to selfishness.

Seems like the district is interested in hearing the opinion of the Orangefield community
