I mean, can you blame him? The community painted him as a racist and sent him off in shame… now they’re destroying his legacy. I don’t think I’d want to sit with people that did me that way, either.

This may take a minute but here is another view... Most of this thread is centered around the Mustang Community. Lets include both for a minute. Football by nature is decided by the fear of losing and how it is overcome thru talent and execution. Discipline is a HUGE part of execution in football. The mood of this game was so obvious before the first play of the game, which I could be wrong, there were so many, had offsetting personal fouls called due to the competitive nature of these squads. Im a Silsbee fan, so I am biased to a degree, but even I recognize the importance of what is happening. In the past, the teams that play WOS regularly were mentally beaten, in most cases before even stepping on the field. That is a reputation and mystique that is well earned and has been displayed for decades. That mystique is under attack and it has created a fear that is hard to accept. For this game: From my view it was undisciplined for both squads at times, which was displayed by both teams throughout the game but I dont think it was a dirty game by any means. Both teams were super aggressive from the first kick and I think the attempt to control the game through personal fouls affected every referee on that field, and they missed a ton of the penalties in the interior line that was showing the real battle between the teams. Not the "swagger", "look at me" attitudes I was seeing. WOS is a good team that is having to adapt, it may take some time to "right the ship" or it could go the way of LaMarque. Can you even imagine if/when Carthage has to go thru the same thing? It will be a mood I can assure you. Do not let that happen as our area, region and state would not be the same. Silsbee is a very good team right now and they are not just growing more confident each year but it is starting to show in the results. Silsbee would lose this game almost every time a few years ago. Crumbling under the intensity and magnitude of this game. The last thing I will say is the mystique is not gone from WOS Mustang Football... Silsbee took this very serious because it was a test in many ways... Can they be the next power football program in this area or not? Can they handle the pressure and high expectation that comes from their community with it? Time will tell and for me, 30+ years of witnessing football in the 409 will always be the same. Tough and emotional. Keep the mystique Stangs'. Fight back as you always have and lets keep at it. See ya in the playoffs. #Respect #Represent Wig

Crazy to think, just a couple years ago, PNG and defense didn't belong in the same sentence lol. They've certainly come a long way for sure.

It's a lot more than poor coaching that had a team with 10+ D1 players roll out of Port Neches with a goose egg. Good coaching with 1 D1 player did that. Beat them once maybe a fluke, beat them twice.....

Don’t play that - You directly mentioned PNG when you tried to take credit for victory away from them. And, it’s time to put up or shut up about your illustrious coaching experience - You keep hinting at it without specificity. What school? What coach? What years? Why, with your vast knowledge, did the school allow you to leave without bags of gold and a coaching contract? The fact you remain intentionally vague after weeks of crowing tells us either (1) you’re lying, (2) you’re embarrassed by the level of your true coaching experience, or (3) you’re an alien who kidnapped a real human and is trying to learn how football people talk. I think it’s the second one. Regardless, it doesn’t for one second matter who, where, or what you coached, no matter how many times you appeal to your own authority. I don’t care if you’re the flesh-in-blood Bill Belichik with Nick Saban looking over your shoulder. It does nothing to cure how incredibly weak your arguments are.

Hiawatha Hickman showed his true character after Silsbee handed him his butt. In true bad loser fashion he sent WOS to the field house with 24 seconds left and did not send them to shake Silsbee's hand. Then, several players, having more integrity than their loser coach, returned to the field to shake hands with Silsbee, but, here comes Hickman's Lackeys, to collect them and send them to the field house. What a jerk. I told the school board last year, that this was going to happen. Hickman needs to go and Rickie Harris needs to go with him

Has nothing to do with PNG! They have D1 talent at almost every position on the field…that staff simply can’t coach period this not the first time they’ve lost to a team they were drastically more talented than.

The sophomore QB can pass. Several right in the hands of receivers and dropped. But shut out FBM in the 1st district game. Defense!

Naw went straight to the navy right out of hs for 12 years. Never coached a football team nor never wanted to. I’ll stick to my day job, but at that day job my coworkers at my day job told me about you and your hs bruh. You always come on here thinking you the best HS coach that ever walked the earth when you was on freshman squad 😂😂 no one coming on here to come bat for you bruh. They know you was a freshman coach and on Friday’s holding the footballs, or scouting for the next week…

My opinion is that he will have some success on designed QB runs (if they complete a few short routes) although Diboll is very stout defending the run. I think he will struggle in the pocket unless Westwood has a stellar pass block on the Oline. To me his success in this game will depend on his run pass decision making when he rolls out to the left of right. Diboll has a decent pass rush and has speed in the secondary, so rolling out to one side makes things interesting. This shortens the field which creates the opportunity for big offensive or defensive plays since both offense and defense is flowing in the same direction. Personally I think Diboll will do fine because I do not believe their QB has seen too many quality defenses based off their pre-district schedule.

I need @OleMoe to come explain why WO-S did not win this game. He all but guaranteed a Mustang win over the Tigers. Heard it there first or something like that. I picked Silsbee to win by 14 and they did just that. Missed on the total score (38-24) but still a 14 point win.

They went back out to shake hands because our alumni went down there and made it happen. We show respect when we win and when we lose. The Mustang Way.

SMH. Good game LP. 28 unanswered points and 2 interceptions tonight. LP Half time adjustments just completely Shutdown the Eagles. BH also had some dropped passes they usually don't drop. LP just has our number and Absecks number too. LP's secondary played very well tonight, and their run defense was fantastic.
