  1. My family and I have known David Aymond and seen North Shore for as long as he’s been alive, yet his opinion is the gospel.
  2. How many points did NS give up? I don’t care if gave up 800 yards! You gave up fewer points and won the game. Kay’s presence is being missed. I don’t care if you coached there 35 years and were there with Aymond since 94. I’ve seen enough NS football since 1992 to have an opinion, and know what kind of defense they are currently playing.
  3. I bet! Like Belichek don’t have anything to do with defense. Like Saban and Gary Joseph don’t have anything to do with defense. Defensive coaches that turn head coach don’t lose their identity. North Shore don’t give up 35 halfway through the 3rd with him on the sideline. Head coach or DC!
  4. I call BS on that. He was a defensive coach for a long time. And a very successful one. If you can’t connect the dots of him leaving, and them taking a giant step back on defense, that’s on you. I wasn’t born yesterday. I know how it works. They would be a much better defensive team with him there. Period.
  5. The absence of Jon Kay on the defensive side is definitely a major factor in this game. I get Duncanville has more horses in the stable, but this is piss poor defense from North Shore. Kay’s teams never looked like this.
  6. I’m happy PNG won, and not crazy of the cockiness and brashness of the SOC staff, but they are well coached, and disciplined. As much as I wanted PNG to win, your heart hurts for those kids too.
  7. I agree. SOC was handicapped with subpar QB play. Still a talented team, but the talent discrepancy wasn’t what it was last year.
  8. Coaching can be explained at WOS. Aledo is a different answer. They’ve won with 3 different coaches. They have coaching, talent, and community support. A culture of winning. Until they move up, they won’t be pushed. Once they go 6A-D2, see if they win a title within 6 years. Is the new coach at Aledo a big time coach, or is he coaching a big time program? Maybe both. Carthage always had the talent, just like Jasper has got the talent. Surratt was the perfect fit for that community. Surratt would not do the same thing at any of those schools mentioned….. or would have a extremely slim chance. There are as many elite coaches that have won a state title after 7 years, than before. Your logic is flawed and your vision is one of fantasy.
  9. Saw it with Belleville vs Gilmer. PNG is struggling with wrapping up, and tackling that back. He’s not big, but a hard runner. Make SOC throw it. That kid can’t beat PNG with his arm.
  10. The spreads work well with a lot of kids running 4.8’s Didn’t you know.
  11. Zero. Help me out….. where have I ever said he wasn’t a great coach? Also, please tell me if you truly believe HJ, Liberty, Huffman, or many others have that type of talent? They don’t, and never will.
  12. Carthage also has the special talent many other schools don’t. Athletic talent. A great coaching job at HJ or Liberty would be the 3rd or 4th round. Reggie Samples, Claude Mathis, or Gary Joseph could come to Beaumont United and a great coaching job would be to get 2nd or 3rd in that district. Some people live in reality, others fantasy.
  13. Gunter needs to spread Tidehaven out and stop playing with the 2 back and tight end scheme.
  14. Do you think Surratt’s are everywhere? You start gauging coaches off of what he’s done, and no one’s job will be safe. Do you think Deweyville, or Evadale is gonna compete with Mart and make it to state?
  15. The RB from Tidehaven reminds me of Johnathon Brooks a little. Maybe a bigger version.
