Why would you not play a talented team that is 10 minutes down the road? That's how you get better. Dropping this game would be an admission that LCM cannot compete and would be embarrassing. I'm no LCM fan, but they competed with the Mustangs the last two years and should continue to. Dodging them is a pitiful take on things.

Well I will never make a prediction as many of you others will. WOS is the best program in SETX. Period. Everyone else including PNG is trying to emulate what they have done. Stangs you have my respect and I tip my cap to you as a program, to your kids who are always some of the best athletes in Texas, your coaching, and finally some of the best and most knowledgeable fans in this area. You are what we all are aspiring to be. Winners. Win or lose WOS , though a division lower than us, will 100% prepare us for district, expose all of our weaknesses, and make us better for playing you. So again I make no prediction, just knowing that this is the best thing we can do to try and tackle that hill called FBM in 2 weeks. Nederland gave up 54 that's true...how many of those drives that went for Touchdowns started for Memorial in good field position...I know it was alot so I decided to count all the drives that started with good field position.. 1st Memorial TD own 42 Yard Line 2nd Memorial TD 50 yard Line 3rd Memorial TD Nederland 6 yard line 4th Memorial TD Nederland 26 yard Line 5th Memorial TD Nederland 25 yard line We also gave up a safety and left two points off the board due to extra points...when you start drives like these chances are your night isnt going to go well heck if Galena Park North Shore or Katy started drives like this it probably wouldnt go well even for them...our defense isn't the best but putting it into context it wasn't the worst night in the world despite giving up 54 points

Sunday, Thomas, and Tezeno are the bright spots for Nederland this year...our Defense and Special Teams have not looked good through two games. Best of luck to the Titans best Memorial team I've seen in awhile

There is nothing wrong with Woodville. They are a very good team and has played two consistently great programs back-to-back, while barely coming up short in both. The 0-2 record does not reflect a bad team by any means. Woodville will be just fine and will beat a lot of teams this year. Good job, Newton. This is a young team and will only get better.

United has some serious size. But it’s a really, really bad coaching product.

Well, I think we can all agree on one thing. United needs more preparation for 6A.

They definitely would’ve still got the win, but would not have scored as many points. Plus Nederland game only looks closer than it really was because of the two late TDs…all in all..PA dominated that game. See…it has to be understood that we that speak out are not saying the team itself is bad or plays bad. They play to the best of their ability game in game out. We know that. It’s just the play calling that kept Memorial from scoring more points last week. It could be troublesome come playoff time if they divert back to the way they called last weeks game. BUT… As I stated in the other comment…that was much improved last night.

The Stangs got the athletes but, coaching favors the Injuns. I 'm going with the Injuns...

I’d say burning two of your four non-district games playing HJ and BC is a bigger issue than scheduling WOS.

Congrats to PNG for doing what they needed to do and that’s destroying the opponent. They’re trying to be better than last year to prove last year wasn’t a fluke. I can respect that. Good luck on their push forward.

Credit must be given where credit is due. Today’s play calling was a 360 from what we saw most of last game. I applaud the coaches for that. The mix up was what was needed. Not everything worked, but the effort in all the plays was there. You can only get better by working on it…those missed plays will pan out. It was nice to see those boys running those routes too. I think it open up the running game and made the defense honest by backing them up. To think, if they keep this same mentality in play calling, how lethal can the offense be??! We’ve always known the athletes have been there. You know the defense is going to show up. Special teams is looking great. The team as a whole can be really really good. Took the defense a little longer to show up than they should’ve today, but when they showed up they shut the lights out. At the end they gave up those couple TDs…but in a sense. Like I told my bro, they earned that. EVEN THOUGH…you would like to see them finish it out strong. Not complaining on them, but I’m sure the coaches will let them know the same. All in all.. I give the coaches a lot of credit. They showed that they have the potential to really take this team far. The players are gonna ball out…they just can’t be led by the blind. Great all around solid win. They showed that deserve to be #5 in the state. Keep it up PA.. It’s about damn time!!!

I was at the game. First half wasn’t very exciting. Second half was like a track meet.

WOS QB Turner looked really good to me. His passing has improved since last year. His running/athletic ability has always been there. He should have a good season and be able to continue to get better for his senior season next year. RB, Amerson looked like a STUD tonight. Freshman RB Jefferson is going to dangerous his entire career, fun to watch with the ball in his hands. WOS whipped LCM on both sides of the Line of Scrimmage tonight. Just my two cents from the game. The Lines on the visitor side to get into the gate and at the concession stand were absolutely ridiculous. Fans were still getting into the game in the 2nd quarter. Concession Stand waits were over 30 minutes and they were out of a lot of items very early. WOS has to do better in this aspect of hosting games, LCM didn't bring a HUGE crowd just about average road crowd in the Peevey Era. Robo is super loud on the mic but love him and his enthusiasm. Good Luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Both teams fumbled, both teams had penalties, both teams had injuries, both teams took a kickoff to the house and both teams played hard! Great first showing for this young Newton team.

But we hear this every year. Same type of talent is always there. We’ve had 3 different coaches during our existence. Still, we get these same kind of results. Quite frankly, I’m tired of it. Seems like the AD is cool with the state of Beaumont football. SMH

Last night LCM did not look competitive. Its a fact LCM baseball program is near bottom by WOS which is sad to see. Coach Griff won alot games. I lived in LCM many years and graduated from there. LCM imo football hasnt changed. We have good groups of kids come through the program but we still lack the talent year in and year out. A 6-5 season is nothing to be proud of.

I’m confused. With all the kids walking then hallways, many just not interested in band for whatever reason. Apparently we’re not interested in football either…

This is going to be worse than last week. Completely unprepared to play. Trying to be positive about the coaching but when we hired Willis I said his style of offense wasn’t conducive to the type players Crosby produces. Going to be tough to make the playoffs with the kids being coached like this.
