And to add insult to injury some of the talent that was here always go to the other schools surrounding Coldspring at times (Huntsville, Willis, Conroe, Livingston, Shepherd and sometimes Cleveland).

This is the last home game for our seniors. Hoping for everyone to come out and show their support for these kids. Even if you don't agree with anything else. These seniors have worked hard to be Mustangs. I don't think they deserve what's happened to their season. We need to show them that win or lose, they are and always will be part of Mustang Nation. Let's do this for the kids. Mustangs get another shutout... 50-0

BH gets Porter for the final district game. BH better be ready, Porter soundly beat LaPorte (who beat BH) and only lost by 1 to PAM, who just beat BH by 14. I don't know the official tie breakers but if BH wants a playoff path this is a must win for the Eagles. Essentially its a playoff game for BH.

Mrs G has even contributed to the lack of fans in the stands with her streams. I had a coworker ask her to get the word out to show up this week too. Imo the district should make this game free admission for all. Call it "Fan Appreciation" because they need it too. The faithful that show up every week no matter the record or the weather will continue. Hope to see you all there. Unfortunately we won't have a big following next week in the city like we normally do. Well idk, maybe some of those folks come out to see for themselves. Yes.. absolutely. Forget the positions that these kids have been practicing possibly for weeks or even all season. Just throw seniors out there all over the field because they've "earned it" by staying in the program. 100% better coaching strategy than those currently behind the whistle. (Disclaimer: I actually have no idea how many seniors are even on the team that don't usually play, if any. Maybe none.)

BH did not ask for that. KF89, when a poster simply adds important details, that's not "making excuses". I agree with Avery. In the football forum if a team lost a QB, RB, DE and LB all at once wouldn't that be a very important item and be discussed at length? Of course it would. Simply discussing it and adding pertinent factual details is not "making excuses". Why doesn't BH ever get the benefit of the doubt on SETXSports?

I would hold off on giving them the trophy. There is another defense that held 8 of 10 opponents to minus rushing yards at half time, allowed 2.7 points a game in 10 games. An offense that averages 42 points by half time. The starting defense gave up 27 points in 10 games. The offense and defensive starters have not taken a snap in the fourth quarter. QB has thrown for 2,503, 35 touchdowns, with 3 interceptions and he only played the first series in the third quarter. I can’t wait to see Silsbee and the Gobbler’s, we in the East know how good they are.

I’m going to probably hurt some feelings. Move back here and my first son graduated in 2014. I’ve watched Crosby since about 2010. This is the worst O-line I’ve seen and honestly the least athletic all around. The kids do battle though. I asked last night when I got to the game if they were healthy and I was told yep no more excuses tonight. Then I look and man something is just missing. I’ll drive to Longview to watch, but dang I feel like it’s the worse kind of situation. Those people trashing the defense, remember the D really only gave up 28 last night. The offense turned it over at the 2 and they returned a kickoff for a td. I don’t think they will hold up at all against Longview though(in the first half).

The center is the hardest position to play on the line. You have nose guard and trying to pick up blitzes. Takes a man to play that position.

Springing to the line and snapping quick gives the defense no time to see what backs are in and what the formation is

I hate to tell you but the Trojan's do not have the same type of kids they had back in the 80', 90's and early 2000's. Not bashing but just not the same. We used to think of Coldspring as always reloading. Now it's a game that we think we can win every year. But you are correct the right coach could help change things, if that is what's the biggest problem.

Longview is not any of those 4 teams I listed. No where did I say Longview isn't a good football team. They just aren't Aledo, Manvel, College Station or Denton Ryan and that's pretty obvious.
