I agree. In the end Newton imposed their will and won the game, but the final score wasn’t indicative of how competitive the game was. Anahuac freshman QB is legit and then some throwing the ball! Anahuac will make some noise this year and will only get better.

After watching WOS tonight LCM might have to double team 3 dudes on WOS defense. WOS has 5 or 6 weapons on offense equal or better then any lcm weapon, imo. Even the WOS back ups come in & make plays .Then the return teams can put you in a bind. If LCM wins give Coach Peevey a key to the city, raise & life time contract that night after the game because it will be a great accomplishment.

I agree with Boneyard. That was a great analysis. We don't run the slot t like we used to. There's no misdirection and no deception. Our offense is way too predictable. In the past you never knew who had the ball. Now, you know who is getting the ball and where it's going when they break the huddle.....which leads to my next question. If we are a ground and pound, control the clock team why do we sprint to the line and go hurry up every play. We don't let everybody get set and we have several false starts every week. We probably had 8 last night. And why, when we do try to pass, we roll the qb left against his body to the short side of the field and then try to throw to a kid who is a lineman and has never caught a pass in his life. We aren't fooling anybody and we don't give ourselves any chance to be successful. Rant over

My take on LCM. There oline and Dline are good and will be tested by WOS. Honestly HJ was not good and years back LCM would have struggled with them during the Crouch years and id complained everyone would say its not the coaches fault😂. LCM threw the ball decent but the qb has to make better decisions and that comes with time. From my understanding Nederland was bad too. Im hearing there is not much of a passing game with WoS but they have some good running backs. The only two times that LCM beat WOS was when LCM was stronger, bigger and faster. So i do believe WOS has the all around speed in this match up. This isnt a district game so with that said this game does not determine LCM or WOS season. Its good work for both teams. I hope both teams make deep runs in the playoffs

Both teams went to the state quarter finals last year only to be bit by the injury bug, so let's squash the "they can't carry our jock strap" trash talk. Both programs have great athletes, dedicated coaching staffs and fanatics for fans. Lots of strengths on both sides of the ball with only a few areas to improve on. It's going to come down to who makes the least mistakes and if the other team can capitalize when they have the chance. For the Bears, Dean with Morris and crew will need to have a stellar night and the O-line must keep the "chain gain" in check. WOS will be forced to double/triple team #90 as they lack some size at the tackle position. This will only leave one-on-one assignments against the other trenchmen. LCM's secondary has been in question with loss of Pete from last year but I've be pleasantly surprised at how they can shutdown the passing game. In the end, this game will only help identify those gaps before heading into district and hopefully long playoff runs for both team. Iron sharpens Iron? LCM 28 WOS 27 with a missed PAT GO BEARS P.S. Guaranteed that this one sells out early so gettem' while they're HOT!!!

Crosby has played like this in a bunch of opening games the last 7 or 8 years. We’ve just never played anybody with the level of personnel King has. We’ll be alright once we get the players back who aren’t done for the season.

I know it’s just the first game but that Vidor offense doesn’t look very crisp so many flags and no explosive plays. The defense looks like they don’t want to tackle anybody not just Miller I mean anybody. They just look defeated already, like they don’t want it. Big step back from last years scrappy little team but we lost some key players to graduation so who knows maybe they figure it out later in the season. I’m out of here boys, good luck to Silsbee y’all look pretty good this year, we got a lot of work to do in Pirate Land.

I am not surprised. I tried to tell some influential (SB) folks that bringing in a coach would NOT morph BH into Allen. It sure didn't. Although I was hopeful for PNG I thought the same here, but its way, WAY early. Give him a chance.

King is a 6A school that has jumped in enrollment about 700 students in the last five years. They are on the North Shore schedule of going from afterthought to power house. They are even in the same area over there, same caliber of athletes. Think about the trouble Crosby had with Ridge Point and that was when Ridge Point had barely crossed the threshold to highest classification. Imagine them playing Ridge Point now. That's the same as playing King. There will never be a scenario moving forward where Crosby will be able to compete with CE King. They are a few years away from being like North Shore, Westfield, etc. Entrenched as favorites in the region in the highest classification.
