Obvious these Dist 9 teams don’t play much defense. I hope the hard hitting Pirate D might unsettle them somewhat. My biggest fear is the big play. The off tackle run with a missed tackle & the RB takes it to the house. The short pass for 5 yards that ends up being a 65 yard TD. Pirates need to wrap up and hold on. If Vidor can make a few long, time consuming drives for points, the CH offense is going to feel the pressure to do something. Our biggest advantage will be if the CH defense is undisciplined. If they go for the first or second fake, the third guy with the ball will eat up some serious yards. Vidor should win this but CH will be pumped up to knockoff the Dist 10 #1 seed. Go Pirates. You can win this game even with a peg leg.

Our snapshot number was only 6 above the current cutoff which usually moves substantially every realignment. Throw in the opt-ups which will push the number even higher and I think there's very little chance Crosby moves up to D1.

They do have some good size on JV. I went to couple of JV games an when I first saw them on the field I thought it was our Varsity team. Lol

I’d heard Ned & PNG groups had offered money to students to transfer over to Crosby (temporarily) to get their numbers up. Guess it didn’t work well enough. Another two years of being stepchildren. No doubt you are correct about their running backs, We need to protect the middle that has been a problem all year. Yes we need to change how we think about tacking running backs, tackling high won't work. LaMargue is coming in a few days let's hope that the players are listening to their coaches. Teams will also have to give Mr. Gayles a lot of respect also. Mr. owner of the most running yardage in WOS history, and he did it against a lot of good teams.

OK, I just looked up Wisconsin firearm law and it does require a license from Wisconsin or a reciprocal state to carry concealed. If the guy that Rittenhouse shot does not have a concealed carry license, he committed a crime. I believe in his testimony he said he accidentally pointed at Rittenhouse. That leads me to 3 conclusions. 1. he probably admitted to a crime while on the witness stand. 2. he lied under oath (which can’t be proven 3. I am sure he intentionally pointed at Rittenhouse meaning that he likely committed aggravated assault and a felony which is why he said that he accidentally did so while under oath. Let’s see, you were chasing a guy with a rifle and you see him fall down, you know that you have a pistol in your hand and you run up to this guy who is now laying on his back and you pointed at him… But it was an accident. If that is true, why did you run up on Rittenhouse with a pistol in your hand while Rittenhouse is holding a rifle? That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

it's actually farther than I care to go for a first round game.. lol about 2-2 1/2 hour drive. it's sure gonna make 5 am wake up arrive quicker Friday morning. I hope you do get the chance to see 'em play next week. most likely will be against our long time friends who don the silver&blue.

Yes I graduated in 08' and yes I know what's going on with the past 10 seasons or so between the 2 schools and it has nothing to do with whos bigger or smaller it has everything to do with the athletes... Most of the students that goes to Coldspring right now or for the past decade (expect for our state run seaaons) they have been more focus on basketball than anything or the lack of participation of football. It was going towards that even during my years there.

Never been to Whitehouse that I can recall for anything. Since I go to every Varsity Jasper BullDAWG game I will be there to watch/support the DAWGS while they play the Cadets of Waco Connally.

I’ve mentioned several times about Dist 9’s lack of defense. Here’s some info on both Districts Points Against. Vidor 170 Chapel Hill 252 LCM 184 Palestine 320 Ltown 195 Lindale 317 Huffman 118 Kilgore 233 Not sure what their approach is to defense, but it’s certainly not high up on their priorities. It should be noted that they score a lot more points than Dist 10, but with defenses like they have, they have too.

La Marque will play hard football come Thursday night. I hope that we will have neutral referees and, they will focus on players who are playing dirty. Mustangs’ players need to REALIZE that teams will come after certain players to get them thrown out of the game. DON’T get caught up in the scheme of things on the field. Play like CHAMPIONS!!!!

As of last week Bellville has only given up 72 points.Compare that with WOS defense that only gave up 69 when they were making their state run.Pretty salty stats for Bellville. On another note last night WOS/BC game there was a lot of personal fouls going on.Coach T called time with minutes left to talk to the BC coach.They decided not to shake hands at the end to keep any confrontations from happing and maybe causing some to being disqualified for the playoffs.Coach T's grandson plays for BC and he said he will be shaking his hand.

Silsbee's defense & offense is predicated on running, pressing and trapping. They flip turnovers into points. If a team gets thru that they can drive the middle of the paint. Nothing says I'm a good athlete like being good at football and basketball. But the big guy for Silsbee doesn't see it that way. Hopefully I am wrong about that this season.

Gotta be a full time job doing damage control for old Joe and easy.
