Pannell started as a qb in college. He got hurt and was replaced by Brian Mitchell that played for the redskins his junior season. Pannell could throw the ball 75 yards down the field.

Cazzy Francis played college ball and went to try out with the Tampa Bay Bucs. Richard Pannell went to USL to play qb both of those guys played the next level. They ran the triple I option in high school so it was heavy run but Pannell Could throw the ball anywhere on the field. Kris Omey led is team 4 rounds in the playoffs in the wishbone. Buster Ascol and Kourtney Curtis prob the best qb combination duo and by far the best ground and pound that LCM ever had. Several OL went to play college ball on the OL they were big up front. Ashton Landry was a great runner look what happen this past season when he was not on the field. Hunter went 7-3 and missed the playoffs. He had a great receiver in Sonnier. I would say Hunter was better in Baseball player and just a good high school football player.

I've done my research other than MaxPreps. MaxPreps shows Chilton at 0-19 last season, when in fact they were 0-28. The season before the actual record was 6-23 (MaxPreps says 6-6). During the 6-23 season Chilton had a play in game for the 4th seed which they lost. During those 2 seasons, only one team made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs from that district, the district champion in the 2021-2022 season. Telling me the district as a whole was fairly weak during his time at Chilton. Either way, by the time Kountze had a bad season under Joubert's watch, he had earned a pass. KJ doesn't have a track record of success to have earned that. I'll stand by my statement that if any coach with a 6-51 career record had applied for the boys job he would not have gotten an interview.

If the players do not believe in what you are doing as a Head Coach things do not work. The players have to buy into what your are selling. Hands down they have some of the best athletes in the state. Their down fail now is politics. When you play that the kids suffer.

Details are usually released when the police feel the need to release it. Freedom of information does not cross into active police investigations. A few months ago when students were killed in a home in Idaho, not much, was released in the police a statement it seem like they were looking for clues. In various forums (and maybe this one), people were making comments that the police were incompetent and that there were no clues and this was blah blah blah. On another sport forum I just committed that I have no clue, but I would suspect that the police have a lot of information and we’re just not releasing it. Failure to notify the public does not mean that the investigation is not moving forward. In the Idaho situation, the police were actively already tracking the killer and made an arrest not long afterward. I realize that this is not a police bashing thread and it is not a, “where is the investigation going” thread. I was using those examples as information on how investigations are sometimes run. It has evolved into a “how come people aren’t talking” thread. They might be if there was something to comment on. Just because it is not in the news and just because we haven’t heard about it, does not mean that it is not happening behind the scenes.

I guess if doing "just fine" means finishing 2nd or 3rd in district then out by the 2nd round of playoffs, then yes.

If a kid can't show up for a game then in my opinion they shouldn't have been on the team to begin with.

15-18 years old with massive amounts of free time is scary for coaches. Baby sitting them all day in a field house to keep them from doing something foolish isn't fun either. Lengthening school days and then having later practices on Monday-Wednesday has to stink. Give me a straight teaching job an a 4 day schedule, heck yeah! Coaching duties with it on a 4 day schedule could be a nightmare.

A) He was never a GA at Lamar (student manager) and let us know how that went? Making it to the conference tournament semi finals his last year? Or how he was exceptional at his job? I guess since you guys are experts, you have done more than look at MaxPreps to see what kind of teams he had? B ) The RC Hyden days aren’t likely coming again. I like the Connell family too but it appears that you all are advocating for hiring someone who also has limited experience coaching high school basketball, and not on the girl’s side. THAT would smack of local politics. C) In the end, if he doesn’t work out, you can move on. It’s girl’s Hs basketball. Not like you had to lock him in to a 10 year deal. Let’s wish him well and see what he can do. He’s a bright, energetic young man who knows the game. Give him a chance. If you do, I think you will be pleased.
