Once again like the last year or two, there is the big calls for a qb change. The thing is you have a qb that has been to 2 straight state semi finals. He has proven himself to be a winner. He starts off slow each year but gets better. He just faced a team that has been to 3 straight state championships winning 2 of them. Tuff to replace a guy in a case like that. With that said, his passing game has never been that impressive overall. Accuracy overall has been questionable. His strength has been his receivers honestly. The past couple years he has had a receiver or two that he could throw the ball up and trust to go get it. This year noone appears to be able to step into that position. Several missed opportunities either drops or bad throws. Maybe a returning Gilder can step into that role. I do like what I have seen from Brisbane and would definitely like to see him get his chance. Especially if our passing game is going nowhere. He definitely throw a better ball.

Watching the game tonight really makes me wonder sometimes. Ik everyone wants there team to win every game. But sometimes a loss is just as gud as a win.take Silsbee for instance the last 2 yrs the loss to wo has prepared them for long playoff runs. Me personally ik everyone wants a QB change.i can't see it. Ik the kid isn't making every throw that everyone wants.but sometimes play calling hurts him more than anything.so everyone sees the flaws and not the gud. For instance tonite the score.it wasnt that bad if ppl truly watched the game.first off the biggest difference that really was the determining factor was field position.in the first half the whole half they started drives from inside there 20. And on a couple plays penalties hurt them.but the biggest difference in the game Silsbee didn't catch the ball on the return.they dropped 4 of them. PG didn't dominate them.every team has things to clean up. Im sorry but the QB takes too much heat for play calling at times.why not run a combination route with 2 wr or more quick outs or stop routes. With every team u have to play to each kid strength. And not call a play bcz u think u have a one on one matchup u think u might win. I said it last yr and ima said it again whenever this team season comes to an end it want be bcz the qb blew game it will be bcz another team made one more play than them.

I counted 23 for newton. They came out 2nd half with their heads hanging. They'll be ok once they start playing their division. WOS is for real.

As you know, Victory Parties over a Pirate win are pretty scarce. Really something to have two in a row. I was afraid these kids would “play-down” to 4A instead of taking advantage of it. Guess I was wrong. Our new offense has been very generous in giving the ball back, but despite that, they come back and score, & the D does it’s job. I won’t lead you astray, Jasper, in Jasper, will be the best we play until playoff time. Smart money probably has Jasper, but sounds like this group of Pirates won’t fold. Going to be a good game. I would pick Vidor by an XP, but our kicking not quite there yet. So maybe we hit a close (very close, lol) FG & win by three. Out of heart meds. Might be required to use an old remedy next Friday - Crown Royal. 😂😂😂 PS; in all seriousness, I’ll really be surprised if either team wins by more that a TD.

Incorrect, it hasn't happened often, but this is at least the second time and possibly third, that Tarkington has beaten the Trojans, I believe the last coming in '02. Great win for the Horns, who needed a good showing after the tough loss last week. Coldspring will be just fine and make a playoff run, best of luck the rest of the way.

What @Go-rilla that @TrojanWarrior08 was stating for football 🏈 records or annuals in the school history we HAVE NEVER LOST TO ANY TARKINGTON FOOTBALL 🏈 TEAM. Please keep it classy, we have always had amazing 😉 state caliber teams. With the exception of the past 5-6 years I team has taken a significant drop. There are big athletic kids at Coldspring who just do choose for whatever reason academically, parental influences of all ethnicities, socio-economic status. That simply do not have interest in football. A lot of kids are more interested in FFA, the new programs being afforded as result of the new additions to the school. Also, most of athletes play both ways. Fatigue is always factor when your players have to do that in the money “4th” quarter. We have always shown respect, supported to Tarkington Ladyhorns Volleyball. They are/were the Queens of this region. there are instances when they underdogs in any sports 🏈 beat the favorites. CONGRATS TARKINGTON LONGHORNS FOOTBALL 🏈 GOOD LUCK ON PLAYOFF MARCH

Silsbee's lack of a passing game will be their downfall this season. Foster finished 7-20, 70 yards, 2 INT's Brisbane was 2-5, 43 yards, 1 TD Pleasant Grove defense is just downright nasty!

I feel badly for those WH kids; this is the type of stuff that happens when you have the AD being the head basketball coach...recipe for disaster.

Right now its a struggle for them up front. Kids need time !! Gatson is a beast. Just don't have much help right now. I will assure u. Once they cut down on T/O and the penalty they will win at least 3 playoff games. It happens.at some point when u lose that much talent it takes a lil while to get back. #9 ,4,3. Kids play with alot of heart. So i hope no one think that this will be the last of Newton this yr.

Silsbee will need to practice kickoff fair catching next week. I seen 4 dropped kick offs and one turnover. Can't be scared to just call a fair catch. That's what hurts alot. Also, Silsbee should give the freshman back Miller a few more carries. Silsbee backs are north and south runners. They aren't fast going left and right it seems.

14-6 Woodville. I hate to say this But Woodville must have not played good teams to average 53 points a game. LCM started practice last week. I’d imagine if we would have played the first 3 games we most likely would have won this game.

Halftime. Pleasant Grove - 13 Silsbee - 0 Silsbee defense is the MVP of this first half. If it weren't for them, we'd be down by five or six touchdowns already. If our offense weren't so pitiful, this would be a competitive ballgame. Malik Jones is ballin on defense tonight.

Vidor will get the ball coming out of the half We need to cut down on the mistakes they are hurting us bad. The O is having no problem moving the ball but we are allowing them to stay in the game just like last week. Defense has to stop the big play ability of BC.
