  1. I’m sorry Mr. Pride. I’m not being smug or condescending. To keep this on topic, I think the district shakes out like this: 1. Vidor, 2. Huffman or Lumberton, 3. Lumberton or Huffman, 4. LC-M I think Huffman lost some street credit due to the virus’s affect on their schedule. I talked to over 1/2 a dozen of coaches who claim that the detrimental loss of play potentially outweighs the gain from a more rested and healthy team. Now, on that note, football is a violent sport. It just is. Our kids, and I say “our” because I have a son that plays, are more at risk of serious injury due to the game than they are of becoming gravely sick from the virus. If a coach isn’t healthy, maybe he should sideline himself for the season, so he doesn’t become seriously ill. If Mee Maw and Pee Paw are scared for their safety, maybe they should stay distanced from their family players. They should be anyway. Not playing football does not mean these kids won’t be socially exposed. Most importantly, Science (from all sides) tells us the kids simply aren’t at risk. Instead of shutting it all down, remove the major threats (elderly, sickly) from the equation and let everyone else decide for themselves. Don’t punish the many for the very few. That’s all I’m saying. No disrespect. I just think that “the sky is falling” mentality is hurting everyone. I really like Vidor in this district, but GO RAIDERS!

  2. I'd have no problem with them playing. Year in and year out, Franklin has shown itself to be a quality 3A-I program who would give WO-S the test it needs. I just hope it gets done as I don't want either team to be on the sidelines for week 1.

  3. Being that I was close to the team, I knew we had lost a ton of talent and experience. I just wasn't going to say anything despite Dave Campbell picking us 2nd. Next man up. My moto in my bass fishing tournaments is "5x3, No Excuses". For United football it simply will be "No Excuses"...

  6. Locally, the biggest change would be in Huffman, which, if they decide to, would be able to report next Monday as opposed to Sept. 8 and hopefully reclaim those first four games. The HISD 4A schools won't be helped by this as the order currently delaying them IS an HISD ordered closure. Up north it should have some impact and in McClennan County it could have a big impact as schools like La Vega and Mart could climb from under that county's order.

  11. I agree i want us to be tested early and adding WOS with the likes of Cameron Yoe and a loaded #9 Troy in 3ad1 could help us make another run at state even more so with us dropping back down to 3ad2... Plus i think we could make WOS better we bring back 9/8 and skill position could be some of the best we have ever had... #3 WOS vs #8 Franklin make it happen

  12. I am a constituent, I am not a member of the RNC (Republican National Committee) The RNC (committee members) did not want Trump to be the candidate because he was an "outsider". In the primaries, the constituents (everyday voters) spoke with their vote and said we don't care what the RNC wants, we're ready for something new, Donald Trump. All this is thanks to 8 years of Obama/Biden.

  18. Look the nfl is rich powerful and business wise smart. The NFL might lose a few fans. The first wave of protest was shot down strongly by nfl. Hitting players with fines black balling kap. The NFL now realizes that the majority will still watch. And it’s not worth pissing off TV sponsors and and big sponsors trying to please a small group. The NFL doesn’t hold a viewpoint. They simply follow the money. I’m sure they talked with there financial people who ensured them this is the best route.

  21. That is an absolutely horrible definition of conservatism, I am glad I finally got it out of you. By the way, the Republicans are not conservative, not by a long shot. There may be a few, but not many. Try as hard as you may to rewrite history, but it was your democrats that beat down MLK and his followers on the bridge, it was your democrats that blocked children from attending school and it was your democrats that turned out the dogs on peaceful protesters. Conservative democrats...no such thing.

  25. It will only get worse. The current crop of sports management majors are being slammed with an extreme liberal agenda. We already have sports journalist with agendas and now we have sports franchises with day to day operations employees that have been indoctrinated as well.

  28. Some of the stuff y’all fans were wanting your coach’s head on a plate. Most of the comments they used are too graphic to type here. 😁😁 lot of changes this year but rest assured the results will be pretty much the same. It’ll just be a longer bus ride for the team to wrap their head around it. Not PA vs everybody but Beaumont > Port Arthur. 🤷🏾‍♂️

    Austin protest

I don’t know if the shooting was justified or not but looking at a comment in another forum..… A person was defending the now deceased by saying he needed to protect his quadruple amputee fiancé. That was why he was carrying a rifle. My question is, if you are so worried about the safety of a quadruple amputee, why would you bring her to a protest where you had to carry a rifle in order to feel safe? If I am the caretaker of a person who is absolutely restricted to a wheelchair and almost cannot take care of herself, why would I bring her to such an event that in my opinion was so dangerous that I had to carry an AK 47 for protection? Then look at the statements Foster made on camera. He was looking for trouble pretty much in his own words. That does not mean he was wrong, that does not mean that he should have died and hopefully the investigation will find some good answers. I believe that Foster is at least partly to blame for his own death.
