  1. I actually provided facts to back my statements but you didn't want to hear them. You are tone deaf. No one will convince you otherwise that your opinion is just biased based on personal feelings and experience. Also, you seem to ignore that the original suggestions weren't to "close the door on them" but rather ask them to play up a level or two to make it more fair throughout the entire field of teams. no. what you want is for them to stack teams every year and win state. then sit there and beat your chest that the coaches "built something" You know who built something? Woodville. PNG. etc. That is building something.

  2. Fine.. just make every single transfer sit a year for varsity competition. Regardless of the reason. That should show who's actually changing schools for academic reasons.

  3. Why are you going all out your way to support schools getting a large amount of transfers being able to compete against schools mostly consisting of homegrown talent? It wouldn't make sense to you for those schools to compete against other schools who are doing the same? Seems like you don't have a good sense of fairness.

  4. @CardinalBacker You can't have a conversation with @Coach_Izzy its his word only. He's the only person on the entire site that is knowledgeable about anything to do with high school football.

  5. My research reveals that he received a "multi-year" UIL ban. Did he receive the "UIL" ban for private endeavors not related to high school athletes and "not" under UIL jurisdiction?

  8. unfortunate for those kids but would still benefit texas high school sports as a whole. I think there could be some very cut and dry requirements (a divorce or death certificate, for example) that would allow for a transfer without sitting out. Moving apartments across town to be closer to the better football team and saying you moved because the apt was cheaper just wouldn't be one.

  9. There are reasons other than academic and athletic that kids switch schools. Most moves are not related to either of those but are the result of changing family situations.

  10. That’s my solution - It would solve 90 percent of the problems and wouldn’t require policing the reasons.

  11. Always fun to look back at these… glad woodville hung with him even though his 7 year window to make it to state had already came and gone as some would say… lol

  12. His definition of “fact” is: “whatever thought arrives in his mind”. Anything he doesn’t like is called: “not a fact”. Example: The UIL issuing a multi year ban to a NS coach is not considered a fact, even though it happened and is settled record.

  13. Being that you are an arbiter of facts, Is it a “fact” that the coach received a “multi year UIL ban”? Did UIL issue the ban for non-UIL infractions?

  16. There might be members of this forum who are carrying weapons in schools. You are correct in going around guards. In Columbine, which seems to have set the trend on such incidents, there was an officer on campus. Klebold and Harris had plans deal with him. In fact, they had planned to take him out where he normally goes to lunch at that time. He messed them up by brown bagging that day, which was unusual. What many people may not know is that the on campus police officer engaged them in gunfire almost immediately and although tragic, they could’ve killed several dozen students but were unable due to the police officer on scene. Twelve students is horrible but it’s better than 50.

  20. Again, everyone save yourself the time... you can't have a convo, back-n-forth with this guy cause his word is the end all be all. He's coached at every high-profile school in the state and knows how each and every program and district operates. You say night he's going to say day. You say white he's going to say black.

  23. I never implied Livingston could be 3A. I was commenting on something I said earlier RE 3A, that also applies to 4A Livingston: There are low bars to step over. Point is, it does not take too much to turn around a 3A or 4A program in SETX. Any real improvement will show up quickly. It contrasts with, for example, trying to grow a 6A program. Its hard to step over a North Shore, Atascocita, Summer Creek and Kingwood.

  29. Ours tonight that got us points in an attempted comeback in the 4th quarter, if we could only shoot the ball tonight though. 🤷🏾‍♂️ On to BU Friday night at the crib. I will say this: it gets annoying losing the 1st district game to the same team. 🙄

  32. Son, let me help you out. We know all about the communities that fail these kids. The problem is that those communities don’t understand how the world actually works. If I’d been failing at life for generations, I might start trying to emulate what successful communities do to raise productive young people instead of continuing to bet it all on lottery tickets. Your wounds are self-inflicted.

Not many 4AD1 districts that are weaker. If they get the right coach they will be more than able to compete.

  41. If you really want to see for yourself, go look at the roster for SOC last year, and then look at this year. Look at the kids and where they went to Middle School or Freshman year and then where they suddenly end up there Junior or Senior year. You cannot for one second believe anyone would ever transfer to SOC for educational purposes- as stated a few times, it is literally ranked at the bottom of Texas schools for education. Transferring for athletic purposes is not permitted. It's not hard to understand but somehow you're making it extremely difficult.

  42. Nederland exceed my expectations. New Coaches and offense and defense scheme kids bought in. Had a chance to win district came just short. Won against PNG and everyone wrote them off saying they didn’t stand a chance… brought a new excitement to the town and school. Kids are buying in… safe to say the future is bright and Coach Rich and company are doing a heck of a job on and off the field in the community. Excited to see what the next few seasons hold
