Ok SETX family Leaving for Dallas. I say thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I truly hope someday that each and every one of your communties get a chance to play for State. Teams like WOS, BWB, Nederland, Crosby, Dayton, Newton, San Augustine, Bridge City, and other communities that have made it to State have the chace to do it again. I make this promise if at all possible I will be there to support you. WOS please continue to lead the way. SILSBEE you are so close. Keep plugging away you will be there soon. Dayton our purple brothers and sisters its past time you returned back to the Dayton of old. Beaumont and Port Arthur you are both loaded and capable of making state. I look forward to the day it all clicks and you are there as proud communities. The one thing I have learned is it takes a lot to make it to the SC but one important factor our coaching staff has taught me is that you have to believe that you came make it to state. Another thing WOS has taught me is that to make it ti State you have to have a good defense. I wish, hope and pray that each and every SETX schools has this opportunity some day. Know that the support from our big community has been noticed by the PNG community. You all have been amazing. Thank you again. Lastly I would like to say thank you to the Nederland community. No. Great coaches don't change their scheme based on 1 player. You put that player in the right spot within the scheme in place...

I will say I don’t think Glenn Rose was that great… that region in general was super weak IMO… I think Bellville, Jasper, Silsbee, Cuero, Gilmer, Carthage, PG, Wimberley, and maybe others all would’ve won that region. From a lot of things I’ve read I think several Gilmer fans are underestimating Bellville still… I’m still seeing “Bellville hasn’t played anyone” which is baffling lol either way I wanna wish good luck and safe travels to the Gilmer fans and team @lostaussie

Carthage also has the special talent many other schools don’t. Athletic talent. A great coaching job at HJ or Liberty would be the 3rd or 4th round. Reggie Samples, Claude Mathis, or Gary Joseph could come to Beaumont United and a great coaching job would be to get 2nd or 3rd in that district. Some people live in reality, others fantasy.

If a young guy can't taking orders from a basketball coach he is not going to make it anywhere. Nobody will give you a job. The military won't take you. You can try and live dirty but they will unlike you very fast.

Smalley became the all time winningest coach at OF but you seem to think BC was crazy for hiring him. And your definition of “elite” is a bit nuts buddy. And I mean that in the kindest possible way. If you don’t think Kevin Foster at Big Sandy is “elite” because he doesn’t have a state title, you’ve lost your mind. I could take anyone with an above average basketball IQ to watch BS play and they would agree they are about as well coached as is possible in that sport. He’s better than the majority of college coaches I’ve seen.

Can't do what Vidor and BC did????? Can't speak for BC but I can speak on Vidor. They hired someone that is more than just about wins and losses, but about building character, teamwork, and sportsman ship. Those attributes will take someone much further in life than high school wins and losses. Again, it's sad that your simple mind only cares about wins and losses for young men that range in age of 14-18 yrs old.... and sometimes those young men will go to war and give everything they have for a coach that is 0-50 but lay down and think the sky is falling when a coach is 50-0 and loses a game.

Reagan got picked last for kicked ball in elementary and has held a grudge ever since. Then one day he picked up a coaching for dummies book and all the sudden became a guru on "elite" coaches.

Surratt's talent pool isn't everywhere either, (a dozen 300lb.'ers each year and D1's everywhere is pretty special) I understand the point you are making and I agree... but to be fair, Deweyville would have to beat Mart to make it to State. We just absolutely do not match talent. Mart (although they lost to Albany) just made their 7th straight State appearance...not many schools compete with Mart. But I know what you mean. Coaching (IMO) means you get everything out of what you have...build some success and talent will come or it won't and you go somewhere with more talent and get the best out of them! 🤣

The two year run with Coach P was from remnants of Coach Rio attracting talent to Crosby HS. The outside talent mixed with the local talent created a good tenure while Rio was here. Coach P didn't spend enough time here to establish the program which will attract (not recruit) talent. I would go on to say Coach Rio was probably the best coach in Crosby history. Proof in the pudding, that why he is playing for a State title this week. #Make Coaches Great Again

SETX Football is a family! Like any family we have our individual disputes. However, rivals or not, we support any team going to the playoffs to do their best. Thank everyone for your support in the Indians run to state. God bless everyone through this Christmas season, in their travels & that it may be a blessed time for all this year! God made us all.

Not true…if PAM didn’t have athletes it wouldn’t matter who the coach was. Same with PNG, they have talent. Also I’m not biased at all I’ve just been around many great coaches & the recipe to any successful coach is the same TALENT.

Hate to bust your bubble but this not true at all Bud! You need talent to win at any & all levels, talent is 90% of the ingredient you need to have sustainable success in football. Crosby had a two year run & now look….
