In all fairness, playing the game does give an advantage in some instances, but it's not the end all be all. Go all the way back to Howard Cosell, Bob Costas, all the female sportscasters. None of them necessarily played, but they sure get paid a lot of money to talk about it knowledgeably. I'm sure you're a great guy and an even better coach, but as far as being likable, you're not. And I'm trying to be nice. I'm glad that you're financially secure, and your family is very proud of you. But save it for them please. On that note: PNG is not what I would consider an Elite team, but they're not trash either as you insinuate. They beat a highly ranked, highly successful program in FBM. A proud moment if you're an Indian fan. I'm not necessarily and Indian fan, but I do support all SETX teams & SETX Sports. Do I think PNG is ready for a finals repeat? No. But they're definitely a decent team. And if you're using being "qualified" to be able to speak about high school football on a local forum, then you shouldn't even be able to post on here. This board is comprised of folks from every walk of life that enjoy discussion and some ribbing. You know, social discourse. If you don't know what that means, it's defined as a form of communication that has a social purpose or distinctive social aspect. Well sir, from the looks of things, you're not qualified to speak socially. It seems as your only reason for getting on here is to bash PNG and talk about how great you are. Well, hell, you can do that by yourself in front of a mirror, because that's the only person who really cares. Now, go on over to the Political Forum and get you a dose of all of us screw balls over there. You can complain, and gripe and name call and anything else you wanna do, and you'll fit right in.

UIL Snapshot Day will be Friday, Oct. 27. Enrollment numbers on this day will determine what classifications and divisions (football only) schools will participate in for the realignment for 2024-26.

I think a program that has made the playoffs every year the past 10 years, going 80-36 overall (including this season's 3-1) and 14-9 in playoffs (averaging making 2-3 round every year) with a state title appearance does not qualify as "below average". IMO, "below average" is winning less than 50% of your games overall and only making the playoffs 2, maybe 3 times, in that 10 years span and never ever making a state title game. I know many many coaches that would agree with me. You may have been a coach, but I have spoken to many other coaches who disagree with your assessment of PN-G. But like they say, everyone has their own opinion. I do agree with you in the fact you were speaking about FB Marshall's lack of coaching more so than discrediting PN-G for the win. BTW, that's two consecutive games PN-G has defeated FB Marshall. I don't think a "below average" program accomplishes that.

BH won 25-10, 25-18 25-18 over PNG. Program sweep for the Eagles winning the day 😀 Sterling with the nice upset in sweeping GCM 3-0. Not shocked they won but surprised at the sweep.

Great explanation of things… It’s just appears fishy when a team like Evadale only loses to Hardin 13-14 but Anahuac beats Hardin only 14-0… I’m definitely curious to see what happens Friday night

The score wasn’t an indicator of how well Hardin played. Their offense is a lot like Orangefields from last year. That run attack that chews up the clock. I think Anahuac only had a handful of possessions in the 2nd half, yet gave zero scores up. It was a boxing match. With that, I haven’t seen OF yet but if they have the same offense as they did last year then AP will need to figure out how to stop that run attach so they can control the clock. If OF controls the time of possession, then I’m leaning OF.

I think PNG started getting in FBM head when they had them on the ropes in round one in Bosts Sr. season.

I still worry about LP against any solid passing attack. KWP—with Sims in the Pistol—is more dangerous to me than Fuentes. Sims is a containment threat. Fuentes wasn’t really a running threat. If LP pressures, they better have a spy or two. Get practiced up with it also. Porter’s QB is tough as well. KWP took down LP last year & made them look silly in the process. That’s the game LP lost Lawrence for the season. No way the KWP vs. LP game is a given.

It was a good way to start district play with a win, but Buna hasn’t beaten any team of note this season, and going up against Kirbyville Friday is going to be extremely difficult to come out on top. OF and Anahuac should be a good one. Getting a win against the bobcats at home will be a tall task. I’m looking forward to see how this one plays out. Good Luck to both teams.

Yeah it amazes me some want to throw rocks at LH when they are having a RARE off year. What they do is not for everyone thats for sure but LH has been very, very successful with it. 95% of teams in TX would be envious of LH's program and accomplishments. They owe no one an apology!

I know that high school football is a way of life in Texas but however, I don't understand. Do they need a new stadium when they already have a big one? Prosper used to play their games at some middle school which used to be their high school (which probably middle school/junior high and Sub-varsity games are played there now as well as soccer). Could that money better used toward something else like spending on teachers and students?

Well next Tuesday there are some interesting matchups, GCM vs Sterling and BH vs PNG followed on Friday of BH vs Nederland and Sterling vs PNG. Things may look a little clearer by then. @ExSportMom who you got?

I think the top three will stay the same with maybe a little bit of a fight between Sterling and PNG; Crosby is cooked. All in all, it's just an extremely uncompetitive volleyball district. If BH gets bumped up in the next realignment, then maybe they will actually have some competition in VB because it's been YEARS since they have seen anything here. A district record of 41-1 since 2020 pretty much speaks volumes. My guess is that by the end of this season, their record will be 51-1 in the district since the last realignment.

I think the team that Adams and McCain were on had a lot more exposure, so it seems like we heard about them more than the current team. All three are top tier players with slightly different strengths.
