Short memories on this board forget, it wasn't too long ago that Dayton dominated those golden triangle teams year in and year out. Dayton isn't the new kid on the block, they're the kid that has been down on his luck recently. The culture and expectation is there, now the play and coaching is starting to match what the community requires. Watch them become a power again....it's starting as we speak.

Who cares its just a bunch of high school kids playing football and having fun. Some grown ups take it to serious . life will still go.on if they end up 1-9 and i will still be a bulldog fan this will only help us for next year more experience for sure!

First and foremost, is an education then comes sports. I'd expect a coach to be competitive, teach leadership, discipline, and how to function as a team. I'm not one who lives and dies by the outcome of a high school game. Does is suck to lose, of course but a high school game will not define the life and career of most student athletes. All I ask for is for mine to give 100%, leave it all out on the field, and to walk away with a little knowledge that he can take with him through life.

I am going to reserve judgement on Nederland until this group has a chance to be refined...they are very young and I am still very confident that their best football is ahead of them (if they can avoid listening to people like the one's on here)...this year saw the program lose a number of players and key contributors for various reasons that, from what I know of, are very abnormal and unusual circumstances...it left the team with more holes to fill than usual; they are filling them as best they can, and will be stronger for it down the line...tough times don't build character, they reveal it...some of the naysayers on here are showing theirs, but hey, it's an opinion board and everybody is entitled to theirs...I said it on another thread and I'll repeat it here, to blame coaching during a bad season, to me, is just too easy, lazy, and low hanging fruit...let's see what happens over the long haul...these same coaches had a group of kids in the 3rd round just 2 seasons ago that frankly, not many thought would be there...are they worse coaches now or maybe, just maybe, are the circumstances different this season? Just a little something to think about

Officials are picked and agreed upon by coaches before the season? If anything WOS has the upper hand with officials because those guys want WOS coaches to pick them for playoff games

I have heard that it is likely all 3 of those will miss this week as well. Along with 2 major contributing defensive players.

We’ll honestly…. I got tired of hearing that 4 water girls,3 band members and 2 concession stand workers are having to suit up due to injuries on the team. All schools have to deal with injuries, it’s part of the game. As the ole Sayin goes “Next Man Up”.

If head coaches are watching these boards daily for info on the teams they will play each week then their focus is not in the right place.

Big Ned needs to play with a chip on their shoulder. Quit allowing teams to disrespect them like they have. It’s time to go out there and play Bulldog football. Play with testicular fortitude. I understand we are young but that wasn’t the excuse in the 90’s and 00’s when sophomores and Juniors lead those team along with outstanding RBs and Big OLines. Even some of those teams were under sized but fought like hell. Every ex player of Neumann’s can still hear him say theirs only one way to do it and that’s kick ass. Then they would go run through a brick wall for him. I don’t think the same thing could be said now. I’m praying the bulldogs turn it around and show the haters that they are wrong

I do not think any setsports.com coverage area coaching staffs wait each week to read setxsports posts to get info to help game planning.

One thing that wasn't really mentioned after the PAM game was the play of Eudy. He played well enough to give Crosby a chance at the end. If he gets the start tonight, I don't think it hurts the Crosby all that much. He looks pretty capable of running the offense. Should be a good game.

Let me know when you decide to start going to NISD school board meetings to express the issue that Nederland varsity football is being coached by a junior high level head coach, I would like to witness who & how many don't respect his varsity head coaching abilities. If the Anti Monte Barrow people do not come together, get out in public to spread this mess. to the community there will never be pressure on ole Kieschnick or the school board to make a change you think is needed to better Nederland football.

There is a extremely good chance they don’t lose to Bellville… I feel like Bellville being 4A and Orangefield being 3A will play a huge role in that matchup…

Stud Sophomores are already on varsity in most situations. That renders JV results worthless to everyone except the kids and parents who are involved in the game.

I can't see where anybody from Dayton has an inflated ego ? Might be a little excited about winning and think we can hang with PNG if anything you might have an inflated ego with the way your always slighting Dayton after they win a game. Like I said be patient when the Broncos roll into town you might be surprised. Good luck and we hope to play a healthy PNG.

This game is pretty much predetermined. I don't think it will be an easy game for either but Newton should win handily. What excites me is the fact that this district has been looked down on by our neighbors to the north year after year with Newton being the only team that they took seriously. This year may be different with Newton, Hemphill, and New Waverly. We all could go past the first round with Newton having a chance to win it all!!!!!!

You may be right on LCM getting the win but through 6 games this season 3A Franklin is averaging 51 points a game and 5A Liberty Hill is averaging 53 points a game running the Slot T with a combined record of 11 and 1. The one loss by Liberty Hill was by 7 points. This offense can still be effective even with your cut block excuse. Doesn’t seem to be bothering the 2 schools above that I named that’s running the Slot T. Your excuse is null and void.
