There isn't a doubt in my mind. I'm saying that those who bash high school coaches and even beyond are likely peewee coaches that "know more" than the varsity/college/pro coaches that actually get paid to do so. To clarify.. I'm not saying that coaches are mistake free. There are definitely coaches that are better or worse than others. I'm implying that there's often a lot more that goes into winning games than simply strategy/preparation. One being talent. And parents/fans often refuse to believe that their little babies just aren't any good. So coaches catch the blame. People need to realize that Bill Belichick is 71-80 withOUT Tom Brady. So.. is he a worse coach? Or.. did he have one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever take a snap? It wasn't very long ago that he was considered the best football coach to have ever lived. And I have no doubt that he knows more than I ever will. But.. know what I mean? Kind of like Phil Jackson. Who coincidentally has zero championships without MJ or Kobe/Shaq.

The despicable moniker should be placed directly on you (and Big Girl). You have fallen for one of the oldest and very obvious political tricks. That is: Name a bill and provide as the purpose of the bill some noble help for citizens, then insert all of your pork projects that can't pass on their own. My point is that's ALL he comments on here. I understand that Nederland is having a down year, but constantly bashing them gets old. I'm not advocating that he always post "rainbows and sunshine" but lighten up a bit. Just seems personal, bitter with always an axe to grind. This game is pretty much predetermined. I don't think it will be an easy game for either but Newton should win handily. What excites me is the fact that this district has been looked down on by our neighbors to the north year after year with Newton being the only team that they took seriously. This year may be different with Newton, Hemphill, and New Waverly. We all could go past the first round with Newton having a chance to win it all!!!!!!

Don’t let unrealistic expectations from others on message boards lead you to disparaging a 15 year old kid. Kid is good, he didn’t call himself top 10 in the nation. He just shows up and works and is a very very good prospect. Even in a loss last night, you could see that. Dischler is also quite the player. No need to step on one in order to elevate the other.

It’s there, they are young and haven’t learned how to play at the varsity level yet. Some of that is on them some on the coaches. Hopefully they can make that next step sometime this season or in the offseason and next year.

What is ridiculous is that it took an almost 300 page ruling to say that if everyone is equal, there is no constitutional violation. If only minorities had to show proof of citizenship or an ID, it would go against the 14th Amendment. If only white male Christians (preferably with ties to white supremacy movements) were the only people sitting at the polls and making such decisions, it would go against the 14th Amendment. Without reading the actual law, I feel fairly confident that I could make a wager with 100% certainty of winning that those things do not exist. It is like the ridiculous racist claim by white liberals that Blacks do not possess IDs or they are too stupid to find the DMV in order to obtain one. Another claim is that they do not have the knowledge to go online on a cell phone to do most of it online.

I agree completely about student athletes NOT being called out. They’re kids. I’ll abide by the rule about coaches, but it’s dumb. If a man wants to take on the role of coaching with all of its financial rewards, prestige, power, etc… and expects to bask in the glory and praise after wins, he/she should have to face the criticism when it comes. There’s a big difference between criticizing a kid who threw a pick versus criticizing a highly paid professional who made a questionable play call, or is even having problems after deciding to install a new philosophy despite the old one being pretty doggone effective. Should people stick “for sale” signs in his yard? Absolutely not. But should that man be spared from any form of criticism, too? I don’t think so.
