I thought he made it. As for #2, he put the team on his shoulders after #5 & #23 fouled out and #4 quit (as simple as I can put it). I agree, there were lot's of offensive fouls but for the most part, they were legit calls. It was Houston Chapter who officiated the game. I thought they did fine. Glad I went. Game was very entertaining.

Navasota was 28-10. They’re not a bad team at all. #1 Argyle beat 25-10 Stephensville 56-41 tonight, for comparison purposes.

And did it with all of this type of nonsense surrounding the team. He could go 11-23 next year and it’ll probably feel like a win to him after dealing with this stuff all year.

He’d make a fine democrat.

Barrett is one of the best around. The HF coach is going to be a good one, he’s had a rocky season but it’s not from lack of knowledge about the game

I completely agree with this. The debate over who is the best player is entertaining, but I don’t think anyone can deny the job that McDonald has done this year. I think the key is the teamwork that happened when #5 was out for those games. The defense and ball movement was great. You had other players that took on larger roles, such as #14. 3A better watch out next year. But enough about next year, take care of HF on Tuesday.

I'll admit - I've only watched maybe 2-3 guys games since I graduated so my top picks would be Ford, Catt, Farias.

A better discussion of this year’s Bobcats would be Coach McDonald. We talk a lot about good coaches in that district, but AT BEST he had the 4th most talented team in that district and finished solo second behind Silsbee. All this while missing either his best or second best player for much of the district season. Tremendous job coaching.

Austin graduated in 2004 Best team - 2005, but I may be biased We had ZERO stand outs that year, we were all average. Chris Ford was REALLY REALLY good.

Why are you so upset? I don't even know who you are nor am I the one who brought up the young man leaving the game. I never saw him leave and didn't know until the game was in the 4th that he was gone. We all are accountable for our own actions and decisions life. These are young men who 8 will enter the real world in 3 months. Whatever the kid is going through I hope and pray he finds some resolution and peace. If criticism or the critiquing of play and actions in a basketball game gets a kid and whoever you are upset then there's a long road ahead of you because that's life in general. But do remember it's just a game. Have a bless night, hope you and the young man find peace.

At this point I don't think its up to Coach K. His teammates were pissed off and under no circumstances do you walk off the bench and out the gym with a whole quarter to play because your coach didn't put you in the game. You can be upset at the coach and the staff, but you don't abandon your team.

I think we've been scrimmage png. Now we get them in predistrict. So replacing that scrimmage with Woodville seems like a step down for sure. This is what I've seen so far. Woodville scrimmage 1- Nederland 2- lcm 3- png 4- newton 5- 6- 7- 8- 9- 10- 11-

I agree but I wouldn’t be surprised to see somebody at regional tournament.. Good good teams in region 3.. but I don’t see no great teams.. region up for grabs.. whoever can play the best ball at the right time.

To quote Coach Norman Dale on the movie Hoosiers, " In tournament play, focus on the game at hand, not the game down the line." In tournament play, all that needs to be done is win and advance. Doesn't matter if it's 40 point wins or 1 point buzzer beater wins. Just win and advance. I'll take seven 1 point wins please.

Surratt is a great coach but let's not act like most years he doesn't have the most talent in his class. He's not going to Deer Park where he'll be three deep at every position due to them have 4k students and beating Jon Kay at North Shore. Rick Rhoades won three titles in his first six seasons at Cameron Yoe and lost in the title game in his 7th. I'm sure the folks in Cameron thought he was on a similar path and the best thing since sliced bread. He moved up a couple classes to Gregory Portland, had a deeper roster and never even made the playoffs in his five year stint because his talent comparable to the class had dropped so much.

Just an outsider asking a question, Is the administration not capable of making a decision on their own? AFAIK, no one else in Texas hires outside help for $20K just to help them think and decide. I still believe this is $20K the PNG powers spent just to deflect and insulate themselves from responsibility incase a new coach does not pan out as expected. "Hey don't blame us, we just did what TD told us!"
