BH has gotten better every week, as expected with a new coach it takes time, I think they are big up front and can run the ball which always gives you a chance. Run game travels rain, snow, hot, cold, doesn't matter. 2. Crosby, fast, athletic, playing much better defense. Prieto has them playing good ball, I think BH vs Crosby is for the DC and its at BH so I'm going slight edge to BH. 3. TC - See post 1. They can run the ball and play defense. 4. Ned- Ned vs PNG is for this spot, I'm going with Ned this year with PNG having a little of a down year on offense. 5. PNG- is still a good tough team but defense has historically struggled and will be the difference. 6. Dayton has a good young team they are on the way up, but a little to early to say they are "Back" don't pull a UT. 7. Kingwood park - will have a couple good players in spots but depth is a issue, just not enough in the tank to compete for top 4 spots. 8. Santa Fe- I feel for these kids they work hard, but losing to South Houston 43-0 and being 0-3 may be to much to overcome. Overall this district is really good, as seen last year 3 of the 4 made it out of the first round. Add in COVID possibly taking key players out at wrong times and any team can win on any friday, but that's why you play the games and why crazy people get on message boards and make picks.

1000% agree. I'm not shooting someone at night that is stealing from me just because the law says I can. But like you said, if I feel my family is in danger, I'm shooting and not hesitating to do so.

Pump the brakes a little. "Huffman has not looked all that impressive..." - Huffman has won against 2 teams that they certainly should have beat. And they handled them easily. Bridge City was coming in on a strong win streak scoring some points. And they were dominated. Even against lesser opponents, a defense that pitches 3 shutouts is impressive. Consider that the backups were playing in the 4th quarter for all these games. They aren't Goliath pummeling children but they have dominated these teams. "Vidor has gone 3-0 with impressive wins against tough opponents." - Huh? Episcopal is 0-3 and is averaging 7 points a game while allowing 31. Vidor scored 24. Vidor gave a below average team a very average loss. Silsbee took Nederland to OT. That was a good win. Brazosport was dominated by a good Sealy team and scored 29 points with 200 yards on the ground against Vidor. A win is a win but hardly impressive. Vidor Vs. Huffman - I have always been a fan of Vidor football. I love the scheme and those kids are physical. But lets not act like the "ground and pound" is unstoppable. Lots of teams learn to play sound defense and slow them down. Huffman is tackling well and their secondary is punishing teams that try to throw. This makes their opponents 1 dimensional. That dimension is Vidor's strength so it certainly will be interesting. With 3 games in the books, The top 4 teams in the district are winning games they should and the losses (WOS, Chapel Hill) are against good teams. What stands out? What makes a fan think "Wow, that's pretty good."? The Huffman defense. So far...Navasota awaits.

This thread is about football. Whether this thread is made or not, it's still an elephant in the room to people outside of SETX who arent familiar with the change that's gone on there. Pretending it isn't there won't change anything. That said, many people are talking about this Crosby vs Vidor rivalry which is pretty interesting. I never knew Crosby was afraid of The Slot-T offense.

I actually thought the JV QB looked comfortable out there, it's kind of hard to blame the kid considering the situation he's been put in. I can agree with you on the fact our execution was horrible. If O-Line doesn't get fixed then I wouldn't be expecting a win at all this season. We have great, physical RBs but no one blocking for them. The plays they do block though they bust 40-50 yard plays.

PG may be down, but make no mistake this football program has made it to the state championship game several times in the recent past. I'm pulling for Silsbee to win, but I don't know about the easy part. PG is deep tradition and after two blow out losses will be looking to right the ship. After two heart breaking losses Silsbee needs to not lose focus in the fourth quarter and close games out. TigerNation!!!

I’m that way with the flu. I’ve taught for 15 years, and until last year (when students were masked up and socially distanced, amongst MANY other precautions) there’s never been a school year when at least half of my class didn’t get the flu at one time or another. I haven’t had it in 13 or 14 years, although I’m exposed to it constantly. I personally opted for the Covid shot because I had no immunities to it, but I get the point you’re making. I’ve also heard (and cannot substantiate this with any type of research) that people in professions where they deal with people all the time tend to handle Covid better because of the work that their immune system constantly puts in. It seems plausible.

Interesting subject. Can’t lie as a Crosby fan I hated going to Vidor. For several reasons. The trip was number one followed by the wing T and that terrible field. Never thought about their past being a factor tho.

If you really want to use that site as your reference, that tells me everything I need to know. but I can give you several links to many towns and areas around SETX that shows crimes. But most don’t understand that you’ll have more crimes in the biggest city with the biggest population of people. Anyway, back to Pirate football. I agree with the previous poster. The style of play for Vidor would probably deter most teams from scheduling them. But then again, that does not explain about the Vidor home games. Can’t use poor facilities as an excuse anymore…

Yes I was talking about attendance and atmosphere. Like Patty said, many are RSS graduates from the 90s whose kids attend BH. There is a rivalry between the kids now that wasn't there when I was in school. Back in the mid 90s BH was a 3a and where you went if you couldn't hack it at 5A Sterling or Lee to get to play. That is no longer the case with the boom that has occurred out there with mostly Baytown people. BH puts a lot of effort into making it known that sports are very important where as GCCISD is more about the everyone gets a trophy mentality with the 3 schools. That way they can have 3 bands, 3 qbs etc. I much prefer the one horse town where everyone is an eagle and an administration that wants to win and understands the publicity that comes with it. Now that the schools are roughly the same size, RSS and BH should play every year and I'm ok with mixing in GCM every once in while vs playing an HISD schools or traveling an hour away to play someone. I often drive by stallworth on a friday night and feel terrible for those kids with hardly anyone in the stands. Most of the time its either Lee or GCM that is playing when I see that. Go watch a BH game on a Friday night and the home side stands are full. If I am kid that is where I would want to play, its a great atmosphere.

Crosby BH Ned Texas City PNG Dayton KWP Sante Fe I think the 2,3, 4 could be in any order. Texas City is the most improved team in district this year and everyone should keep an eye on em. Crosby should win district unless they do their annual stumble👍 If so let it be against BH this year.
