Then y’all got your behinds whipped 41-13 the rest of the game. I agree, Crosby definitely has some stuff to clean up because we could’ve beat y’all worse had we made more of the plays that were there. If you think one lineman being out is the reason PAM lost then you probably can’t figure out why y’all are losing to 4th place teams in bi-district either.

What is the old saying about a prevent defense? It prevents you from winning.

Crazy part is that Crosby’s staff would probably beat us by with 20 with PAM’s players. I think what you saw tonight is the difference between Crosby getting to play/schedule a bunch of teams like PAM and knowing how to win when you’re outmanned vs PAM who doesn’t schedule a bunch of teams like Crosby and has trouble finding a second act when you can’t purely out-athlete the other team. PAM isn’t that far behind Manvel talent wise but they’re a ways off on the sideline.

Silsbee. They looked like a REAL team for 3 and 7/8 quarters. Silsbee dominated. I think if they keep playing like this they will win district and make a good run in the playoffs.

I talked to some of the players after the game and even some of the players didn’t understand why they were put into basically a prevent the whole 4th qtr and the offense settled on 1 receiver they have 2 other talented receivers that could have easily made life even harder for Nederland but they were not on the field the entire 4th Silsbee coaching staff balled this game up and threw it in the trash no disrespect to Nederland but Silsbee had numerous chances to put this game away coaching was very questionable during the entire 4th qtr.

Dayton out here whipping people like Crosby needs two weeks to prepare for them. Glad we got it and congrats to a fan base that really deserves one to go their way.

Coach English is hosting a big fall tournament today in Nederland. Lots of the big schools in the area will be playing like Nederland, Bridge City, Port Arthur, and Hamshire Fannett. I will try to post updates throughout the day.

It’s likely just going to add complexity to a snapper/center, and even if you practice game time execution versus practice execution. it’s a choice do you spend time on QB/C snapping the ball in a corner for 10 minutes a practice for one play or do you have the QB throw 20 more routes, or the center get 20 more shotgun snaps. everything is an opportunity cost because you have practice time limits.

I am a little lost on the QB/WR play. These guys thrived in 7 on 7. Yeah pads and all that but teams are loading up the box and daring us to beat them in one on ones. That is no different than 7 on 7 for the most part.

You say it was coaching but the coach did put Silsbee special teams in the best position to recover the onside kick. Had Silsbee fielded this kick, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation.

Man come on, you sound like a kid. Trying to prove your right on something that had zero impact on the game. Silsbee was up 34-13 after that. A lot more happened after that is what really impacted the game. No one else is supporting you on this so why beat a dead horse? Silsbee was playing decent and collapsed. Should be a learning moment for a young team.

Lol you’re a man of many excuses. Weren’t you the same person that said PAM in a blowout?? That humble pie isn’t sitting well on your stomach I see. Point blank PAM was outcoached in this 1. Not to take away anything from Crosby kids who played a hell of a game but PAM clearly had the better athletes w/ a lackluster scheme on both sides. Crosby went at PAM’s best player and had success on multiple occasions. Imagine the score if Crosby coaches had PAM kids. I saw PAM fans kept saying this isn’t last season and they were right because Crosby would’ve hung 80 on PAM. All in all this was a great game to watch. PAM is a good team who should have some postseason success this year because the talent is def there. coaching staff just needs to step it up a little. Hats off to Crosby, the tough non-district schedule def paid off in this one.

Silsbee coaches made several bad play calls for sure. 1. Playing Prevent Defense?? 2. Going for it on 4th down and not punt in the 4th. 3. Fake punt giving Nederland good field position. 4. Encourage your QB to run. He has speed and is good outside the pocket 5. Players play and Coaches coach. Coach to win not hold the lead.

Now this is what Pdawg said to me on the before game thread- It could also be that although both teams are 2-0, both of Lumberton's wins were against smaller 3A teams (31-19 over Columbus, and 42-6 over Buna,) while Lee's wins were against a 5A playoff team (56-7 over Galena Park) and a 6A team (58-17 over Houston Chavez.)

the definition of "bad coaching" would be to put a kid under center if he had never practiced that...not sure if this is the case at BU, but sounds like it may be...you cannot, especially in a critical moment, call on players to do things that they have not worked on

Something I believe that many Crosby fans do not understand. This area is very good at backing each other as we advance through the playoffs. I may give em hell when we play them, but I was a Crosby fan all the wat through the playoffs last year. I agree with you. I give Crosby the respect they deserve. First they should be picked to win district they played for the SC last year. This little corner of Texas backs each other with the exception of a few who hate the other schools for the wrong reasons. I give my respect to Crosby for their accomplishments.
