I’m not so sure that it happened the way she described. She post everything on FB. If it was true, I’m sure it would have included pictures. The way she acted before, during, and after the game was pretty disgusting though.

Some of those teams you listed are in districts that this site currently covers. Franklin has been playing teams we cover, as has Wortham, Palmer, Bremond and Teague. That is why they were in game threads on this site. Lufkin and Longview are not in districts that we cover. Maybe this will help: My point, there are other sites that cover those teams and probably would get more feedback there.

I’m going to attend this game in person one day… I used to love when both teams were in the other district and their would be 23 pages on why BH sucks or Crosby sucks… then we were all one district and it ended up being 35 pages with every team in the district mentioned and dragged in… best of luck to both teams!

I think people were saying WB would competitive in 5A D1, but still struggle for playoffs Ain’t nobody on this board dumb enough to say their school would hang in that 6A district.

It is very potential that this judge may have done a great service to the pro 2A community. She has now started the ball rolling and it may end up badly for a future anti-2A tactics. The main question is, can a governor in a declared emergency, overcome a person’s constitutional rights and/or, is safety or seriousness of an issue a valid reason to do the same. This is my non-lawyer opinion about how this might play out. NM will not go quietly into the night and will appeal this to the 10th Circuit Court which covers NM, OK, UT, WY, CO and KS. The 10th Circuit will hear the oral arguments to agree with the district judge or overturn the injunction and allow the governor’s order to suspend the 2A to stand. This will not be hearing the full case but just an issue on the temporary injunction. My belief that if this is appealed to the circuit court, they will uphold the judge and the injunction. The next step would be to appeal the actual authority of the governor to the 10th Circuit. That would be to argue, a governor, when declaring emergency can lawfully issue such orders suspending a constitutional right. If it goes that far, the 10th Circuit will set precedent in those 6 states that a governor has no such authority to ban guns in public. That precedent will technically only have legal bearing in those 6 states. The next and final step would be for losing side to appeal to the United States. Again, I suspect that the 10th Circuit will find the governor’s actions unconstitutional. If that happens to be the outcome, the US Supreme Court will deny review (certiorari or cert.) and allow the 10th Circuit ruling to stand, setting precedent. If the 10th Circuit sides with the governor’s authority to issue such an edict, the Supreme Court will accept the case for review and overturn it, again setting precedent.

I hope that LB for BH plays, I like the way he attacks the football. That son of a gun has mean nasty mentality that I love. I don’t see it being close, but when teams don’t like each other, you never know.

The kid is a great athlete! I enjoyed watching him play last season. PNG is going to miss him.

To me, especially when the UIL has cateract issues when reading a map, the board should include teams from the 1st round district matchup. Nothing wrong with a cursory glance at Dist 7 5A Div1 for example

He had Lisfranc surgery yesterday, he is out for the season, that’s six weeks of no weight on the surgically repaired foot. Hate that for him, hopefully the offers that he had in the off-season will not be pulled and he will be able to play next year in college.

Despite having an absolutely awful stretch, the rangers keep fighting. This has been a massive win streak, and a huge series win. Rangers have locked up the tie breaker against the jays on the off chance they end up with the same record. They’ve also clawed their way back into a wild card spot. A sweep tomorrow would be huge
