Here's the thing about his statement. When Kilgore goes all the way and wins state title, in a sense, his statement would be true. The better way to say it is "I'm predicting Kilgore to win the state championship". I agree with you bullets. Crawford, Pine Tree, teams still left in this region are better than BC. Then you have Celina, Stephenville, Alvarado, Calallen, La Vernia, West Palms and Springtown. BC would definitely be the underdogs in all those match ups.

For anyone going to the game BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse is basically in the parking lot of the stadium. That’s the place I usually stop at several hours before the game and pregame with this stadium. Great food and Cold Beer and literally less than a minute drive to the home side of the stadium. Well… our kids are gonna pile onto a couple of buses and head over to New Caney. When they get there, they’re gonna put on the red and white, bite down on their mouthpieces, and get after Kilgore for 48 minutes. It’s a game that nobody expects BC to win…. Heck, most people are predicting a blowout. But I don’t think so. It’s a chance to see how we stack up against the best- if you ask me, this is the true state championship game. Whoever wins this one should have a cakewalk on through to Jerry World.

BC squeaked by Huffman’s backup QB to secure the only winnable bidistrict matchup, beat a 4-seed by a field goal, then an average Navasota team by a touchdown. Now you’re claiming their third round game against Kilgore is the one that will likely decide the state championship? While I admire the confidence, there are 15 other teams left, and BC would maaaaybe be favored against two of them, and double digit underdogs to almost all of the rest. And no road to the state championship will include either of those two weaker teams. A Bridge City championship will require wins over four teams in succession that are light years ahead of any team bridge city has played this year.

They have several TVs with sports I wanna say over 30 types of beers on tap if you like different beer’s… but with the UT and A&M game I would go to Twin Peaks… BJ’s before the game and Twin Peaks after the PNG game would be a solid plan. Right across the highway from the stadium is a Twin Peaks… last time I went I noticed they have a slightly different menu than the Beaumont location..

Watching those games, it felt like WB should’ve handled those opponents easily. But turnovers—especially the unforced ones—were a major issue. Think about it: the opponents actually won the turnover battle and still couldn’t pull out the win. That’s because against a WB squad, you have to play nearly perfect basketball on a team that hasn’t gelledyet . On paper, this team is more talented than last year, but they haven’t reached that “better” level just yet.

I was told from a RELIABLE and reputable source that the HJ and this game went almost the same. HJ and this game vs Humbe…. Both teams played above their heads and badly missed shots. So I’d assume that teams go all out for the defending state champs. If that’s the case, this WB team will be very prepared come district time and playoffs…

I'll let Daspit handle that. I have not seen the 9th grader play so I can't comment on if he should start or not for BC or any team in the district.

I guess the next question would be will he continue to start for BC once the football guys join the team?

I was hoping some of that had changed with him. I've watched him play about 10 times over the last 3 years and I coached him for a tournament during the summer. Attitude was an issue. Humbleness is not a trait he poses currently. 15 year old Freshman has time to figure it out.

I think you are quite possibly the least qualified person in the entire world to give anyone, anywhere advice on how to foster team chemistry. Bridge City will be just fine.

To you and @Setxhasbeen, I've been reaching out to some of my BC contacts and I was naive in my assessment about Jennings. Though he may be talented offensively, they are struggling to get him to play at both ends and his attitude is very questionable. apparently there is a severe lack of respect for the players in front of him and it is spreading discontent. That is very sad to hear because those BC Seniors have been playing together for a very long time and had all the tools needed to be very special even without Jennings. If I was Daspit, nothing is worth losing the team chemistry those Seniors have and I'd address that situation now. This is the 2025/26 Season. He can have 27,28, & 29. It is his job to fit in with the BC Seniors and not the other way around. At the end of the day, BC is Bush's team and the ones who want to be part of it, will gladly follow him. I am an Orangefield Dad, and I promise I feel the same way about my son's team. He has unselfishly led this group like Bush has since they were young and no one deserves to break up that team chemistry.

I think it’s finna get a little more trickier with United now cause of the guys who coming in for football I believe it’s 4/5 guys ! One who was a starter (king) and Manuel who was getting minutes ! Do you start king and have the smallest backcourt in the state with him and Coleman ?

I was told my a friend of mine from India that they have influencing centers so to speak. They have 1000's of cheap phones in the center, all with different social media accounts and all can be controlled by a few people. They want to get something trending on social media they can make outrageous post, getting real people to respond, and it spreads like wildfire and begins to dominate and trend. Onalaska 103 Wells 24 Wells sadly didn’t have their best player. No pressing after 3 minutes into game and ran clock entire second half.

BC is struggling right now. There isn’t a lack of defense, it’s practically nonexistent. No offensive rebounds, no second shots. Watching loose balls. The chemistry is way off. Too many bad fruits in the bowl if that makes sense. Things will change once we get the football boys back and we have that camaraderie that we’re so badly missing right now. Great win for Orangefield…wish we had another one scheduled where we’re fully staffed. Good luck to OF this season and hope they make a deep run.

Kilgore by 3 TDs. BC is a good team, but Kilgore is a whole different level. If BC can hang in the game with them, I would be very surprised. Watched Kilgore's last 2 playoff games. They are very impressive on both sides of the ball and are very likely to be in the championship game. Good Luck BC. Rep SETX best you can.

There is nothing wrong with wanting the best for the kids. History shows these groups will ALWAYS be capable with the RIGHT leader no matter who it may be..... The standard is the standard. Live up or move on.

Thompson and Hooks are both hall of fame coaches,Hickman is at best a mediocre coach..that may change and when it does I’ll be the first to congratulate him…until then stop comparing them because there is no comparison.You do know he wasn’t even qualified for the job,the crooked superintendent had to change some stuff up to get him in..that’s politics that shouldn’t be in schools but it is and it’s disgusting for taxpayers and that would be me,do you still live here and involved in some of this mess?

There were some drops but AMC didn't consistantly stop us running to the left. Shout out to the Oline who have been consistant all year....... If #3 can't go, I hope #21 gets some run. I don't like my star DB going both ways. He's needed more on defense....
