Today’s defensive performance was embarrassing. Can’t cover and can’t stop the run. The offense did enough to win but the last drive was awful. 3 screens for negative yards and never got the ball back. 2-3-1 after 6 games is not good!!!

My thoughts are PAM wins this, still believe they are head and shoulders above everyone else in district this year. The only one who can stand in the way of the Titans are themselves, at least in district play. Playing at home gives them even more of an edge. BWB has grown and become a better team than last season, they won't lay down and they have the athletes to match PAM. Two opposing QBs who have great WRs, can throw the ball and are dynamic runners. This has all the markings of a big rival match up. PAM by +14

Defensives Starters Graduating (Woodville cannot replace this production in a year) Tavion Hunter (All-State, Willy Ray Smith Award), Jaython Hyder (All-State), Jaython Traylor (All-State), Ashton Daily (All State), Wyatt Walsh, Dwayne Koenig, Caleb Johnson I am missing one.

That 3A QB thru for 320 against deer park and 380 against Manvel. And maybe their protection wasn’t as good against PAM and Sterling. But who knows.

I was asked to have input on these preseason rankings. For the preseason rankings, they try to have every region covered. They like to see at least 4-5 teams from each region in the rankings to start the season. I stated that I thought Memorial could be one of the top 6-7 in the region but would not have issue with them not being ranked. Same went for Silsbee. That situation was a little harder since there was many more teams in the region that should be ranked over them.

It was said that he was leaving to explore collegiate opportunities, but then he ended up at Copperas Cove. Was he looking to leave Huntsville for some other reason? Don’t know.

Looking at their stats, the QB from last year (Dellinger) who was 2nd on the team in rushing last season with 900 yards (leading rusher with 1622 graduated) is again 2nd on the team in rushing with 592 yards. They have a RB (Davis) with 622 yards and another RB (Coyle) with 398. The QB has the most carries on the season with 72. White leads them in receiving with 7 receptions for 118 yards on the year. Last year it was the RB Stephens with the 1700 yards in offense and 18 TD's. Now it's a combination of 2-3. But the QB seems to be the man on most occasions. I understand you having a little bias with this particular Shepherd team with having family on the team, including yourself. It's understandable.

Silsbee in the trenches remind you of bigger classification OL. They will win a ton of games with their two fronts.

They owe him $49mil. I think the super contracts may be a thing of the past. Move to more incentive based.

He was never "all world". Poor kid was hyped to the skies as an 8th grader at 3A Hardin mostly by his family. I saw his mom literally scurry up to Todd Dodge at AT&T and gush about him while he was a freshman at Anahuac, while Todd nodded kindly and almost missed the elevator he was waiting on to let her finish talking. Some poster here said back then he could start at North Shore QB as a Freshman... and the hype never ended. As a FR at Anahuac he did OK, but they won only one playoff game. Soph at 4A Rusk he did nothing, 4th place and blown out first round. As a JR at Anahuac he was injured but gamely played on, and Anahuac ended up 5th. If you can't elevate a 3A or 4A team, no one in their right mind would expect he was going to excel in 5A-I, except those closest to him. NONE of this is his fault. He is just a good kid wanting to play ball, put in unfortunate situations by others. I feel bad for him. Its now too late in some respects. I hope the public will not vent on him. Let him finish out HS career in peace. NONE of this is his fault. JM2C.

You've been cos playing as a memorial fan for years now. Sad thing is, you can't see that several of the sacks/qb pressures were coverage sacks. But if I needed a high chair to see the game, I would miss alignments, plays, adjustments too. Are year long it was BH this and Lufkin that. Mostly BH so just put your BH shirt on and eat all those wrong ass opinions about football. You don't know the game and you can't see. Full credit to the tigers, they came out and punched us in the mouth and we could never recover. Excellent on both sides of the ball, especially running the ball and getting pressure on our qb. I’ll give the horns a little credit as well. They came out and competed in the 2nd half and played much better. Good adjustments on both sides of the ball made things a lot closer. Congrats to the tigers, and good luck the rest of the way!

The bonds are the big issue. Yes PNG has more money, but they also spend it wisely and the community is behind them. Nederland is spending $32 mil more than PNG on the last bond. PNG got rid of 2 schools (which cut overhead) and built 4 brand new state of the art schools. Nederland wouldn’t get rid of 100 yr old “historic” buildings because someone’s great grandma went to school there. Instead they piece milled 4 old schools together and it looks awful. They did get a new HS and 3 connex boxes for a press box though for $32 mil over what PNG paid.
