It's easy. He doesn't have a family to worry about. Why would he pass up higher pay, arguably better talent pool, and succeed his father at his Alma matter he played in a state championship for..... hes on borrowed time no doubt. Plus katy is alot more nicer area than setx most of us would say...

There are a lot more open enrollment ISDs than you think that are out there as well....Dallas ISD is far from unique in that regard I do believe TX should consider doing like Louisiana and creating classifications and seperating out open enrollment ISD's vs non-open enrollment ISD's

I am out on this discussion. I will say one thing He was a coach at NS. That is a fact. Not sure Coach Izzy if you are still coaching so thats why I said was. What you all are talking about I am staying out of. Izzy I will say this... Walking out of Jerry World yesterday an elderly gentleman wearing that exact same style ring just walks up to me and gives me a hug. Out of the blue. He said congrats PNG and he said TY PNG for bringing it back to Houston. I know we arent Houston, but this man warmed my heart. By the way the ring was from his grandson who was a freshman on the 2021 team and let his grandfather wear his ring to the game. He was such a gracious and sweet man. He was very proud of his grandson who was starting in the game. I was heartbroken for him when I heard the score. He was so kind. He was so proud that a team from our area won and his words "way to represent". NS is a great school.

Quinn ewers stays in HS his senior year instead going off to Ohio State I believe he wins the ship that year..

I'm not the world's biggest fan of open enrollment myself, but we can thank the Texas legislature for that along with charter schools et al..it is what it is and the UIL does the best they can with the resources alloted. The kids that play for SOC are all eligible under UIL rules, the open enrollment/recruiting conversation to me is just as moot IMO as SOC people complaining about some close calls that didnt go their way

It was a Fort Worth crew, SOC uses Dallas, it wasn't SOC's home chapter. Coach Todd said he agreed to the crew and he owned that, he admitted if he knew there was an official who worked in Port Neches he likely wouldn't have agreed to the crew (I wouldn't have either) thats not to say it automatically makes them a bad crew or a bad official but there's optics and its probably not fair to put him in that spot. Coach Todd did say he didnt agree w/the PI call and I wouldn't expect him to, its a close call that went against his team, no coach will be happy about it, its just the nature of the game

Joke is on them. Depending on the caliber of woman they set him up with, he's liable to end up with someone trying to find a way out of setx and into the big city

Freshman class this year isn't good (besides Payton obviously) and the 8th graders aren't much better from what I've seen. It's a combo of some lackluster classes coming up and some kids just choosing not to play. Silsbee has some exceptional looking groups at the junior levels, so that little dry spell won't last, but people are gonna need to hang in there and be patient. Payton will get to do his thing, but I'm a little concerned about what they're gonna surround him with starting in 26. I'm just basing this on what I've seen up to right now. A lot can change from year to year, so you never know. May need to borrow a few more from Marshall Middle School though 🤷‍♂️

last year a DFW crew did the PN-g game.

IMO, Silsbee top players are very good. Lets get that out of the way. But from what I have seen the last few years including this year, one player is great with the recruits and all. He puts up great numbers in normal games, but the big game with the brightest lights, he disappears. The other player gives it to you even in the big games. The best player in my opinion is the one that shows up in the big games. I'm talking about games against BU, WB, PA, big tournament games, or highly ranked opponents.

As far as I know he never has. I watched him lose to his dad a couple years ago. He might have won one as a coordinator somewhere else.

SMH I really like this BC team. I predict them to make the playoffs. Coach Robertson is doing a great job there. But if we are being honest, not sure any Silsbee team is overly proud of beating Bridge City in basketball. Beating BC by 30 is a common thing for Silsbee basketball.

Not the first time that particular parent had to be "talked to" at a game this season.

WOS has a real good group of players that never quit! Their press is lethal and they hustle at all times. They have taken some tough losses but they can get in and surprise anybody at any time. Their team is a high revving motor that can turn the game into a race if teams arent careful. To me, all they lack is some consistency shooting the ball from outside to help them spread the floor, and they'd be a REAL problem for everyone. Great group of young men too! Our boys cheered them on against Jasper in our Tournament, so they all stayed for Championship and even joined our student section keeping our Orangefield crowd hype. Great group of young men that we are for sure all fans of! Hats off to all of them for showing us all how sports should be!

@Coach_Izzy How does Jim and Joe explain my Mustang downfall? DCTF had us ranked #2 in the state based on the returning players. Even after our HOF coach retired and handed the keys to an assistant. Did CT take the kids with him to the pasture? Or did the new coaches not have the same ability to produce champions? Or the wisdom to call plays instead of timeouts and delay of game penalties? (This isn't about coach bashing. Just a really good example) I know there's always an exception to the rule. But I've seen rookie coaches win the championship the past 2 seasons. And maybe further back if I go look. This is about admitting there is a correlation to Jim and Joe being coached up by someone who is an elite coach. Not just a good or great coach. MY Levels of Coaching BAD 0-10 but everyone plays AVERAGE 5-6 1st round exit GOOD 7-5 makes playoffs most years GREAT 10-3 battles for a DC and makes playoffs every year ELITE 13-1 expects to play in the region final every year, with a chance to play for the championship Now another thing I'd like to add to the conversation. All these different things that have been said about what makes a coach great... Leading and molding young men, making sure they stay in class and school, all the things that coaches do for their students off the field. That's the basic job description that we expect for every one of them. All coaches at all schools should be held to that minimum standard. But like @Reagan has said... we hire them with the expectation to win on top of that. Did anyone listen to any of the post game interviews? Nobody thanked the superintendents. All glory given to God. I saw much made on some of the sporting and gun forms where the (rightfully imo) complained about Trump pushing for the bump stock ban as part of the definition of a machinegun. The Fifth Circuit I believe has thrown out that ban saying that the ATF did not apply with the actual law on the definition of a machinegun. I agree but that’s not the point. Many people complained that Trump backed up the ban, expanding the definition of a machinegun, so maybe…. they look to the other party??? Okay, you disagree with Trump on that issue. But let’s look at the score for like minded conservatives. Border wall and heavy enforcement of the current laws: Trump - Yes Biden - No Cutting taxes by signing tax cut legislation: Trump - Yes Biden - No Opening up oil exploration: Trump - Yes Biden - No Backing Second Amendment and written definition of machinegun: Trump - No Biden - No So where do like thinking people turn because we don’t agree with Trump on one issue however, the other guy would do the same on the same issue? Trump vs. Biden on strong conservative beliefs: Trump: Yes-Yes-Yes-No Biden; No-No-No-No Any questions on the lesser of evils? Do you cut off your nose to spite your face? Let’s replace Trump’s name with Haley. Does it really change your beliefs, assuming you agree with the above? Whether a person likes Trump, Haley, DeSantis, etc., is Biden ever the answer if your conservative leaning candidate didn’t get the nomination?
