    Woodville vs Columbus

How is Woodville more seasoned? And you say all they have played is Madisonville? Is Hitchcock a no one? Just because they were upset in round one? Columbus handled both of those teams. Madisonville beat Diboll who Woodville lost to… Columbus has a D1 commit at QB… a really good RB. Their O line is damn good. Could Woodville win? Of course it’s high school football but Columbus is #1 and well deserved. It will be very tough for Woodville to get the W… I’ve been wrong before but I don’t think I .. Columbus wins by 3 scores

It would be good for FBM, TC and Santa Fe too as far as traveling if they moved back to a district closer to Houston.

  3. It’s also hilarious that Bellville’s schedule gets constantly brought up lol Weird that people wanted to bring up how well West Orange played against all those tough teams on their schedule and they aren’t your typical 5-5 team and Bellville comes out and completely dominates them but “Well Bellville just hasn’t played a team with a winning record” 😂😂😂 @89Falcon

  4. At the end of the day win or lose I will be on here congratulating BC I will always be a homer with my Kilgore Dogs every year in all honesty BC will need to play a near perfect game and they could use a turnover as well. Nothing negative or down playing Bay City as a team but Kilgore is the better football team this year. Does the better football team always win No they don't that's why they play the game but if BC just comes out and drives us in the ground and whoop us I will come back to eat every single word I said and apologize for being wrong. Hope both teams play injury free the whole 48 minutes and hope both teams have injury free practices too

  6. Finishing tied for 5th in State is a heck of a run. Fulshear is definitely a solid team with only 4 losses all year but it didn't appear BH ever hit on all cylinders in either game at regionals like they did against Friendswood.
    2 points
  7. Yep, Fulshear was a 6A, almost right after the last realignment. The most significant difference between the two offenses was that Fulshear was full steam ahead on swinging away; there was too much firepower from their outside hitters. Difficult for BH's defense to pick up all those missiles being fired at them. Overall, BH had a great run and beat outstanding teams in Foster, Friendswood, and College Station; not a bad showing.

if that's true, the bottom number is going down as well most likely. Might end up pulling Vidor and Lumberton back into 5A

  13. I don't have any insight into Coldspring's circumstances, other than they played with my head on the pickems just about every week.
    1 point
  14. Another weird end to a weird season. The only team I could compare them to this year is Coldspring. They played tough teams all year, and competed pretty well, narrowly losing several games to very good competition, only to get boatraced in their last game of the season in a game where a lot of folks expected them to keep it close, if not win. Oddly enough, just like WOS, this season was basically a carbon copy of last year's for Coldspring.

  15. I have no doubt whatsoever that Nederland could be just as good as PnG with an equal coaching staff. That’s what PNG’s experiment shows - Success at this level isn’t genetic. It’s not about just “having a good crop of boys this year.” It’s coached, created, engineered, taught. The encouraging thing is it doesn’t have to take a long time. Nederland seems to have replaced Neuman with a “rah rah” coaching staff hoping their boys will simply out-gumption the other team. This year especially, the lack of teaching is obvious. A new coaching staff could come in and say, “Every single thing you’re doing now, we’re going to do differently.” A year from now we could be talking about a completely transformed, terrifying Nederland team. Granted, PNG’s current staff inherited a solid, well-coached, enthusiastic Faircloth team and built from there. Nederland might need to get some kids back into the program, but once that happens there’s no reason a great coach can’t make it all work. There’s no difference between the PNG and Nederland players - Half of them were probably born in the same hospital. This is all the result of deliberate coaching choices.

    BH Vs Richland

Kind of surprised that the computer ranks are favorable to BH with Richland being 11-0 Max Preps has us ranked 13 and Richland 16 Cal Preps has us favored 38-31 It’s all due to their district and schedule strength, but thought they would get the nod👍. Rankings don’t matter though BH has to come to play and getting the ground game going is key.

  19. Yeah, keep them kids on stand by. If they're not needed, they don't play this game. If the game starts to look a little rough and we need them, use them sparingly. We're going to need our players at nearly 100 percent for Bellville.

    Whats this about

D1 district is weak. Lumberton nor LCM imo would even make the 4th spot in 4a d2

    Whats this about

Bridge City would replace Splendora. They will be moving up to 4A DI because of their enrollment number. If you left the district as is with BC then added the two opt ups, the district would look like this: Bridge City Hardin-Jefferson Huffman Liberty LC-M Livingston Lumberton Vidor 8 team district (7 district games as opposed to 5 from this year). 3 non district games. Local 4A DII is likely just a 5 team district with just 4 district games and 6 non-district games.

  30. Yea, I took my high school daughter to that game and she absolutely couldn’t believe the PNG crowd. Especially when I told her they had to drive 2 hours. We were on the LH side, so we got a good look at it. It was amazing and pretty cool to see that level of support.

  35. We should be able to dominate the LOS. Rouse runs a 3 man front on defense, they range from 215-250lbs. Offensive line ranges from 225-260. We should be able to lean on them for 4 quarters and wear them down.

  40. Elite 8 out of 128 that started in the playoffs is really good and BH had the toughest road to get there as well. Yesterday BH had its chances, had leads of 24-22 in set 2 and 19-14 in set 3. Every point matters. Have to wonder how much the quick turnaround from Friday to Sat game impacted the game.

  42. Cornel Thompson would come back if we had a new Superintendent. Toby Foreman would also like to take over. But the Superintendent we have is the problem. Everyone gripes here but no one goes to the school board meeting to complain. I did, and not one other person showed up. They take public comments first, and then you can leave.

  45. LOL, cites "LH (without top 2 RBs) losing in State Semi-Finals as evidence of offense not working. Ignores that LH is the top scoring offense in 5A, ignores that Franklin won back-to-back State Championships and set the all-time record for points in a season. Does not cite the hundreds/thousands of teams running the spread that did not make it to the State Semifinals or in some cases did not win a single game. Does not really know the size of other teams OL. Believes spread offense is better suited for "small OL".

    Trump Running in 2024

Trump just kinda seems like he's losing it. Not the nomination, just inside his head. His behavior, statements, and actions seem more and more erratic. I dunno. I really hope he doesn't win the nomination, but I assume it's coming. His campaign really sent a bird cage and bird seed to Nikki Haley's hotel? And this was after he referred to her as a bird brain? is he 9 years old? Not to mention the foolish behavior in court.

  47. HJ and Liberty currently compete in all sports from junior high up to varsity against Liberty, Huffman, Livingston, Splendora and Hamshire-Fannett. Football is the only district that doesn't look like that. So to me if there's no rule against it and they choose to move up, let it be.

  48. It's the parents. I saw a post recently where Silsbee Parents were INCENSED that their kids wouldn't be allowed to have the cellphones in class because Mama NEEDS to be able to reach Johnny, and there isn't a any old school that's gonna tell her child any different. I'm of the opinion that is the instance where administration should dis-enroll Johnny and let Mama get down to homeschoolin'. You know, "I don't beat my child and I'll sue the pants off anyone that dares to harm a hair on his head." There's something about getting drug out into the hall at a young age and trying to hide hot tears when you rejoin your classmates that will alleviate 95% of the behavioral problems that we have in classes today.
