  1. The primary cause of noise pollution in California is the noise emanating from the mouths of that distinguished list of people above. It has to also ruin air quality since, as most Texans are well aware of, šŸ‚šŸ’© has an obnoxious smell. Solution - get rid of California politicians and you improve the noise pollution and air quality. I’d like to see them deported to another country but can’t imagine any country that would have them. None of them have a moral compass, and obviously a good days work would kill them. Essentially they’re as useless as teats on a boar hog.

  2. I'll keep going back to the fact that Silsbee has been there, done that. These kids and coaches have that big game experience and are prepared. Even though Washington has two players that have been on the big stage in summer ball, I just think the overall program that Silsbee has established these last 20+ years comes into play when you get deep in the playoffs. This group at Silsbee are pretty special and they grew up quickly last season reaching the regional finals for the 5th time in last 6 years and 11th time in last 17 seasons. Point being this is what is somewhat expected of them and I believe they will rise to the occasion. Washington may have the two best players but I believe Silsbee will compensate that with coaching, depth and big game experience. Besides, Harris and Miller are no slouches.

  10. I do think TD's guidance will benefit PNG. This seems like "deflection" money spent by PNG to me. If whoever comes in under TD does not perform as well as hoped, then they can always point back and say "hey, don't blame us, we just did as TD told us". It looks like an attempt to insulate themselves from responsibility.

  11. Yeah, they just showed up at Aledo. I watched Aledo's 1998 title game against Cuero and I didn't see one black kid on the team. Not that that part matters but somehow all of a sudden with the same 2% black population in their school you get Johnathan Gray, Jase McClellan, Jojo Earle, the Allen brothers, Jeff Carter, etc. ALL in recent years when they never had them before. Throw that in with their population explosion and Aledo is a total anomaly in the sense that their recruiting numbers look more like Arlington Martin's versus Southlake Carroll's like they should. CE King is good now. Is it because the new coach is that much better or is it because their enrollment grew by 1500 kids since they were in the district with Crosby 6 years ago? 1500 additional North Shore type kids is going to make it easier on any coach. Jon Kay has won 4 state titles in 8 years at North Shore. He might end up as the greatest high school coach ever but he's not beating Dodge, Samples, Carter and Joseph with Summer Creek's talent the way he's basically owned them while at North Shore going 11-3 in those contest. Meanwhile he's 3-5 against the Meekins brothers at Westfield. I know you don't consider them great coaches due to not having titles though. There's a huge difference between "low" expectations and realistic expectations which is where I think you're getting confused. I watched PNG play Montgomery and I would've given Montgomery a slight advantage athletically yet PNG still beat them. If PNG played Montgomery 10 times it would probably be 5-5. I watched them play Texas High the next week and the gap in athletes was more like a chasm. They could play that game 10 times and TH would probably win 9 of them. If PNG's administration can't can't objectively watch their team play and come to that conclusion then that's more on them than it is on BF.

  12. Records are shown as Wins/Losses/Ties. GD stands for goal differential. GP stands for games played. I will update this every Monday and Wednesday (after games are played). For the points, I'm assuming each district gets 3 points for a win, and 1 point for a tie. For the GD, I don't know the policy for District 21-4A, so I'm assuming all goals count. In 22-4A, you're only allowed up to +3 per game, but you're allowed an unlimited amount of goals against that count towards your total. I'm getting all results from MaxPreps and/or Twitter. District 21-4A LCM: 2-0-0; 6 points; +4 GD; 2 GP Jasper: 1-1-0; 3 points; +2 GD; 2 GP Silsbee: 1-1-0; 3 points; 0 GD; 2 GP Bridge City: 1-1-0; 3 points; -3 GD; 2 GP Lumberton: 0-0-1; 1 point; 0 GD; 1 GP Vidor: 0-1-1; 1 point; -1 GD; 2 GP HJ: 0-1-0; 0 points; -2 GD; 1 GP District 22-4A Splendora: 1-0-0; 3 points; +3 GD; 1 GP East Chambers: 1-0-0; 3 points; +3 GD; 1 GP Anahuac: 1-1-0; 3 points; -1 GD; 2 GP La Marque: 0-2-0; 0 points, -23 GD; 2 GP Huffman: 0-0-0; 0 points; 0 GD; 0 GP Liberty: 0-0-0; 0 points; 0 GD; 0 GP HF: 0-0-0; 0 points; 0 GD; 0 GP

  15. Really? Washington is a mystery to me. They don't post highlight videos on MaxPreps. You can see them as the "other" team on their opponents highlights but that's useless because it so unrepresentative. They have no common opponents with Silsbee. I note one thing. They beat 12th ranked Brazosport 82-79 while Silsbee beat No. 11 ranked Hardin Jefferson 77 - 53. On the other hand Booker T seems to be ripping through their district opponents with more ease than Silsbee has. I admit the matchup looks bad for Silsbee on paper simply because of height. If it was just one 6'7 star wing it would be one thing, but two? And it's not just Washington, on paper the Tigers don't match up particularly well against any of the other top 10 teams. But the coaches around the state see something in them and really like them. Silsbee is basically a bunch of guards who are almost interchangeable. They sometimes lose the opening tip to much weaker district opponents. But some of the Tiger guards are pretty strong guys and they don't really get pushed around inside as much as one would suppose. They're a hard team to peg.

    Global Warming Update!

That’s the real question, but you’ll never see these MMGW Fanatics ponder the answer. And for you MMGW Loons, ponder this. Hottest temp ever recorded - July 10, 1913, in Death Valley, California. Well my, my, my. All this MMGW but the record was set in 1913. C’mon man. I’m 76 and heard massive lines of šŸ‚šŸ’© in my life, and this MMGW looks like it and smells like it. Jmo

  31. Surratt is unlike any coach in Texas. He is a master mind at finding your teams weaknesses. carthage has always had the athletes just needed the best coach in Texas to make them into a consistent machine. 8 state championships and 11 semi finals appearances in 14 years. Carthage has not grown one bit since I graduated in 1974. We will have him at least 4 more years because his son will be a freshman and the next great QB and a freshmen team loaded with size and talent. Surratt and his staff could win anywhere they were at. We have been very blessed that he chose Carthage in 2007.

  32. Can confirm. Also PG isn’t bad. Both bigs are more wings who are skilled. Both are accustomed to playing bigger, better competition than Silsbee will run out there in summer ball. Question will be whether Silsbee can wear them down with their pressure vs lack of depth. 5 on 5 with no subs, Booker T would be a solid double digit favorite. Lack of depth on their part makes this a lot closer to a pick ā€˜em. Imo. HJ would struggle with either team.

    2022 Season

I totally get kids being burned out of baseball. The best athletes play multiple sports and each sport requires a different set of skills that make you a better all around athlete. I know I burned one of my boys out and put too much pressure on him. I should have enjoyed the moments more than PUSHING him to do better and be PERFECT. 3-4 is a great day and I questioned the one AB that he took for strike 3. Yes he did get to college and yes he was done after his first year and it was totally my fault. Parents, learn from myself and other parents that push their kids to get this D1 scholarship and play at the next level. Spent countless amounts of money on travel ball, hotels, Perfect game crap, on and on and on.......Now i am sitting back wishing I would have enjoyed these moments watching MY BOY just play ball. Sorry but just my admittance to being an over bearing prick to my kids when they were just wanting to go play ball without all that pressure from Dad. If I could do it over again!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. First, opinions, if they don’t fit the mainstream thoughts, are labeled conspiracy theories. They were relegated to the Twilight Zone of beliefs. But wait! In the last few years these conspiracy theories have been coming true with increasing regularity. This post is about one of those. A belief I’ve had for some years. Early on I know it appeared absurd, but now the pieces are coming together. My theory is why the Democratic Party is pushing lawlessness. It’s obvious they are, but why. First, I’m convinced that the Dem Party wants to radically change America as we know it. What would be their biggest challenge? The American people - how are they to control them? I can only think of one way, Martial Law. Troops in the streets is not allowed by Law, so how do they get Americans to accept Martial Law? By allowing the lawlessness to take over (which is happening now) until the American people say enough - Do something. Bingo, we’ve gone from a free republic to a Socialist/Communist šŸ’©hole. Far out you say? Yep, but not as far out as when I first anticipated this. The pieces are coming together. Ask yourself, what other reason for allowing this anarchy? Am I wrong? Could be. Hope I am, but res ipsa loquitur (roughly, let the facts speak for themselves).

It took him 24 years to get a state championship. He even coached at Liberty hill and was unsuccessful. He went to Mexia in 1995 and they won a state championship 1989. Keller is horrible. Pittsburg has one state championship in 1980 and is pretty below average. Kerens, San Saba and Corsicana is mediocre. Now look at South Lake Carrol do you see how much his coaching improved? Do you think he changed much throughout his years of experience probably so. But the one factor is that the talent was greater in South lake than those other teams he coached at. Maybe PNG should have gave Faircloth 24 years and he could have got them a ring. But what if he goes to Sulphur Spring and wins a state championship. Will your opinion change about him?

I think Athletes play a part of it. I do agree good coaching helps the program. But some schools don't have the athletes to compete deep in the playoffs. It also comes down to depth on your roster if you have multiple players going both ways and the other team doesn't it makes things even harder.
