I think what bothers me the most and many others, is from the very day CT announced his retirement, many were saying the new coach was already on staff that the superintendent already had his candidate. The posting of the job, accepting applications, conducting interviews was all just a formality. Just going through the motions. That makes it seem as though he’s trying to put his personal spin or agenda on the program. Makes it seems sinister. Makes you believe if Todd Dodge applied or Surratt from Carthage they would have been turned down too.

Wouldn’t surprise me any of Toby never applies again. The first time he didn’t get picked was understandable, but this one is different.

Not interests. Just interesting to say that by taking the shot or wearing the mask is an implication that the spread will slow down at all. When in reality, there have been more people that have taken the shot and/or caught the virus with or without it since this whole debacle started...after the "shots" were available than before. Considering that, nothing has done anything to deter any of it. I could post some articles or videos proving such by reputable, medical doctors but if it goes against your personal beliefs then they will discredited as "quacks" or "idiots" or "conspiracy theorists" anyway..so why bother. But.. at some point.. I would think that every person on the planet would begin to question whatever information they're listening to. As we're two years into this and after 3 different vaccines, one booster, two boosters, three boosters, etc.. maybe just admit that maybe they really don't have a clue and/or are just telling people a load of crap. Just my take. Personally, I truly don't give a crap what anyone does. It's still a free country. I just know that I'm not going to be lectured about anything health related by entities that are exclusively money driven.

Some crack kool-aid sippers would probably say it was a great speech. Although, I truly think most of the protagonist post radical ideas just to raise people’s BP; not because they truly believe it. Then the others just can’t see anything past their hatred of the former president. I just roll my eyes at most of the posts, and the others my ADD kicks in after the 4th paragraph. It has been almost 30 years ago but Larry Neumann was not a head coach when he came to Nederland. He was an assistant coach at Thomas Jefferson in Port Arthur. There were almost certainly other applicants, some with head coaching experience and maybe good records. For whatever reason, Nederland decided to go outside and hire an untested assistant. Neumann was thought to be a good fit for that job. I think it worked out well for them. Hopefully Coach Hickman with no head coaching experience, is that good fit and can do the same at WOS.

I can’t wait to see the list of applicants. Until then it’s all just speculation. But a job opening like WO-S, you would think there was some problem guys with head coaching experience and probably some pretty good records that got passed up. Will be interesting to see! The Super better hopes this works out, or he will be looking for a job in 2 years. He’s already alienated half of the community with this hire. Probably more than that.

Closing of the schools probably has to do with staffing shortages in multiple areas of the district due to employees being sick and not enough people to fill in.

I think they can win district.but playoffs are a whole lot different.and it brings me back to the Nederland game this yr.they were all confused.in the playoffs u have to adjust and be playing ur best ball.i think hick is a great guy. But,bringing this team to the next level I really don't know.he has never been a head coach or been put in tough coaching situations.and with the supe on his side lol, reminds me of my Dallas cowboys.

WOS has always had the pinnacle of coaching.... "Fine", "ok," "pretty good" and "decent" is not what the Mustangs have had in the past. Congrats on the "woke" hire. I am going out on a limb and say it's the OC Daniel Ragsdale. Seems that the hew requirement is that the job only has to be posted in a public place. It was posted on the Job Board at the Administration Building on I-10. So in the words of a decommitted superstar- "No interviews".

If the United States of Supreme Court upholds the Kentucky 11 week abortion ban as lawful under the United States Constitution, a person in Kentucky could always come back and contest the 11 week ban under the state constitution. HB91 would nullify any such Kentucky Constitution question because their Constitution says under HB91 that abortion is not a right. The Texas law is an entirely different ball game.

Then “Tweets” (Good Lord help us if we pick Presidents on Tweets), and finally, “He wasn’t Presidential” (did they actually think what we saw last night was Presidential?). Fact is, Trump was a rare success. Rarely have we had a President that was good at governing the US and foreign affairs.
