When Vidor gets to running their hurry up run plays where they sprint to the line and quick snap it, that sure makes it hard to keep up. Sometimes I get a play or two behind but always seem to find a spot to catch up. All I know is one thing, Armadillo Lives Matter! And Vidor is going to win Friday night… so that’s 2 things. I know TWO THINGS! ✌️2 points -
Made perfect sense to me, but that’s one older person to another. Younger folks have new vocabularies. My introduction into this word game stuff came one day many years ago when talking in front of a couple of my G’kids - I said “cr-p”, which was the word we children used in lieu of the sh-t word (back in the day). My daughter said, “don’t use that word in front of the children. I stood there, mouth open, trying to grasp what she said. Us old folks have a lot to learn. 😂🤣😂2 points

Crosby 53 Barbers Hill 46/FINAL OT
piratevillain and one other reacted to NoNeckNic479 for a topic
Ever heard of the old saying "2 wrongs don't make a right" well that applies to this situation. In a case like this, a good, creditable HC would call his players together and tell them not to get wrapped up in the antics of the other team. He would also point out to the officiating crew that players are being hit after the whistle and those hits are starting to add up. Also, the coach has the right to pull his players from the game if he believes that is an option. But never would a HC with tact and respect for the game think its ok to jump up and down on a teams logo at midfield. And the people that think that is acceptable behavior...well they are just as classless.2 points -

If I lit one up today, I would be immediately as addicted as I was for years. Cold turkey wasn’t easy and I had help in the form of a chest cold, so bad I couldn’t even draw half a drag without coughing my fool head off. I did actually lay them down and surprised myself that I hadn’t smoked for 3 days (couldn’t). Still had the craving but it was manageable then. I also wanted to quit, which is the most important element. It had gotten so bad that I couldn’t even finish a sentence without taking another breath. I literally stopped talking mid sentence and drew in another breath. If one knows they SHOULD quit but really don’t WANT to, they won’t be successful.1 point

I don’t have that much knowledge of medicine (but maybe more than average) but if I had to make a guess, I would say that natural antibodies are better than what you get from a vaccine. The intent of any vaccine is to make your body produce antibodies as if it had a disease. So your body is going to fight it one way or another whether it’s from having the pathogen in some form placed inside your body by vaccine (injection, inhaled, eaten) or you having it introduced naturally. So if you catch a disease and your body does what it is supposed to do and creates antibodies to fight it, I would think that what your body created to fight off the actual and likely serious disease would be better than your body created to fight off a modified pathogen such as mRNA or a weakened or dead strain of the disease as introduced into a vaccine. I could be wrong but it would make no sense. That would be using logic and maybe logic does not apply to medicine The statement, our organization is run by Covid money, makes me wonder what it ran on before that. Pfizer is about 170-year-old company. They are in it for profit just as any other free enterprise company. Five years ago Pfizer stock was a little over $42 a share. As of this afternoon it’s about $42 a share. Sooooo…….1 point

Yeah. I would’ve had a non-prosecution or a plea deal worked out before any testimony since she is not required to testify. I mean they had her for perjury no matter what. If she completely shut up they could’ve still prosecute her. I haven’t looked it up in a while but I’m fairly certain the law on perjury says that if you give two conflicting sworn statements, the state does not have to prove which one is a lie. If one of them has to be then, it is perjury. So she had to make some kind of deal for her testimony, either as you say immunity or a very sweet plea deal like maybe Probation.1 point

ozens fastest@1906 reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
The 4th place team in our district has been getting in at 4-3 in recent years. They better win this on and I’ll give them KP in the season finale. That would leave them needed to go 2-1 against a combination of Nederland, TC and BH. Losing to PNG this week means that’s not probable but it’s more than doable. Good luck, last couple years Dayton has already been out of it by now.1 point -
Nederland Bulldogs at Texas City Stingarees
MrFleet23 reacted to Cougar14.2 for a topic
Everybody is always talking about how they want to play in a tough district so that they’re battle tested for the playoffs . . . Until they’re actually in one. Now you have a team ranked 7th in the state at the midway point in the season in danger of finishing in 4th place with a couple losses, which probably includes a first round exit against FBM, or possibly missing the playoffs all together. Nederland is probably for sure in in at least the three spot but these are possibilities. Kind of have to tip the cap to the district this year. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Dayton ruin someone’s year.1 point -

Nah, we’ll leave y’all alone. Y’all went borderline Vidor on us though. We’ve lost plenty heartbreakers so I know it sucks. One thing I would point out to the BH faithful that some of us other fan bases have figured out though; if y’all think you’re good then act like you’re good. Meaning when you lose games it’s because YOU lost, not I because the other teams should have. When Crosby started to get good again I had about a 4/5 year struggle with this until I saw us lose to Manor in 2012 with the Twins. Then I had an epiphany and the collapse the next year against Elgin was easier to understand. I’m hoping we get that regional final matchup at Stallworth we never got with Dayton. All y’all have to do is play like y’all did Friday night for the rest of the season.1 point -
That article has to be some of the most bogus crap I have ever read. Notwithstanding the government is using it for politics and some people are using it to make money. That is one thing the article got right, the opinion that some people took a bad situation to use it to their advantage. It is still nonsense.1 point

Well, @Falcons2026 made me rethink this a little. I wasn't considering some injuries that occurred very early in the season. Counting some kids that haven't played yet due to injuries before the season and some that happened early in the year and may not be returning this season, its more than 2-3. Nobody wants to post kids names or specifics when there is an injury because its a kid, we don't know all the details...just feels crass. I don't think it is 11 starters that are injured and will not play...but as you see, sometimes my keyboard moves faster than the speed of thought.1 point

Hooohead.com reacted to Cardinal 1 for a topic
Sears is the only valid threat on that team offensivey. Brown is a solid PG but not anything comparable to the PG from last year who was the real leader of that team. Unless he drastically fixed his game over the past month or so from the last time I saw him play this summer, then he will be ineffective in competitive games. Davis Jr can't guard his lunch in Sunday school, but he can shoot at a high clip if left open. All others are just solid role players. They will be a good team, but not district champs. They will be 3rd behind HF and Huffman. HF will win it barring injuries.1 point -

Livingston, Texas. Rachel Leggett was married to Timmy Leggett. They were supposed to be out of town one evening so her son decided to throw a party... which got canceled because Rachel/Timmy didn't leave town. Sometime after dark a pickup comes up in their yard doing doughnuts, so Timmy cranks off a couple of rounds from the front porch and the truck leaves. They decide to call the sheriff to let them know what happened, but Timmy is on probation for a couple of DWIs so they decided to tell the cops that Rachel, not Timmy, was the shooter. They also decided to tell the fuzz that Timmy was in the yard and the truck was trying to run Timmy over... because it makes the story less stupid. They call 911 and the dispatcher tells them that the vehicle was en route to the hospital because somebody inside the truck got hit. Rachel/Timmy go down to the SO and give statements saying that Rachel did the shooting because Timmy's life was in danger. Then the kid that was shot died the next day. Apparently the truck was being driven by one kid and the truck's owner was riding as passenger. The kids in the truck didn't get the memo that the party got canceled and were just showing up being rowdy. At this point, Rachel already confessed to shooting at the truck. Timmy's fam retained an attorney and he advised them to stick with their story (Rachel was the shooter) because "nobody is going to jail anyways." This rocks on for about a year or so while Rachel is out on bond... And Timmy is working down in the Valley. Apparently it gets lonely down in the valley (and Rachel can't leave town), so Timmy gets a mistress. NOTE... if your wife is actively taking a murder charge for you, DON'T CHEAT. Not even a little. The attorney (hired by Timmy's folks) just keeps saying to stay the course, it'll all work out. Against his advice, Rachel goes down and tells the truth to the authorities... DA, if I'm not mistaken. The law admits that they'd known that Timmy (not Rachel) was the shooter since that initial night at the SO because they'd overheard them discussing the matter. But Rachel's confession had them stuck without a way to prosecute Timmy. The trial comes and Rachel testifies against Timmy... something that they couldn't actually force her to do because she was still married to Timmy. Based on her testimony Timmy gets 99 years... but they prosecuted Rachel for lying about her involvement early on. I think a lot of it had to do with having bad counsel bought/paid for by the family of the guy who was put away by Rachel's testimony. Most people thought that she would get a slap on the wrist based on her cooperation with getting Timmy convicted. Wrong. They convicted her and sentenced her to the maximum amount possible for the crime for which she was convicted. After the sentence was handed down, the Judge walked down and hugged the victim's mom. The Texas Ranger that investigated the shooting had an affair with the victim's mom... the mom and dad subsequently divorced. The Ranger and the mom are still together, as far as I know. The kid played baseball and was a senior if my memory is correct. Every year they have a big goat roping or some crap over there. The family still thinks that Rachel should have received a life sentence, too. She's been up for parole every year and gets turned down. She's over eight years in now and will be released before her next possible parole date. I personally think she should march through the next Rhett Latham Memorial Goat Roping with her head held high and buy a t-shirt, but that's just my vindictive side coming out.1 point -
Did you see the two of the three unsportsmanlikes? One was a late hit on the Crosby sideline right in front of the ref. (The one I’m talking about.) The other was a late hit right in front of the BH sideline. The third was a BH kid trying desperately to tackle a man after the refs were blowing the whistle to stop play. How that one was offset I have no idea. But like I said Karma.1 point

Coaches weren’t getting on asses for the hot dogging and dangerous late hits. The blind side hit on #2 and #24 resulting in unsportsmanlike were inexcusable. blindsinding a guy then flexing is weak as hell. Which was why karma bit em in the ass and handed them a district loss. I don’t condone the stomping at all but I can see why. But in your opinion which is worse?1 point
-
Yes, and even the announcer says “late hit”. You can’t tell them anything though. The penalty stats speak for themselves. I don’t blame them a bit for stomping on the logo.1 point

Can’t condone that. Crosby coaches were upset about the late hits some of which could have injured players. And alleged were cursed out at the BH game they went to scout. Might be a lil animosity there for years to come.1 point

[Hidden Content] From the article: Republican Senate candidate J.D. Vance hit back at Vice President Kamala Harris' latest argument against voter ID laws, Monday, reacting on "Fox & Friends" to the VP's claim that rural voters don't have the ability to make photocopies of their IDs. J.D. VANCE: We have all kinds of crazy things in small towns in the state of Ohio and across the country. We've got electricity, we've got running water, we even have soap. And it's amazing that the vice president of the United States thinks that people can't make photocopies in rural communities. I mean, it's like she thinks that if you go to a small town in this country, you've got the tractor supply store, you've got the guys with the dueling banjos and there's nothing else there. And of course, that's ridiculous. And anybody who lives in these communities or spent time in them knows that.1 point -

I’ll relate what I’ve mentioned to you before - how fast time goes by when you get old. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Andy Rooney’s quote - “Life is like a roll of toilet paper, the nearer to the end you get, the faster it goes”. My great example is my pill containers. I have three of them that are for 7 days each, so three weeks worth. I have to refill them every week & a half (at least). I hate to blink, 15 seconds go bye. A yawn, two minutes. I use to think my eyes were getting bad, now I realize everything is happening so fast, it’s just a blur. Anyway, as my feeble brain comes up with something, more rambling to follow. 😂1 point

Manners are gone. Common decency and respect for elders is gone. The attitude now is say whatever you want (free speech), do whatever you want (defund the police), act however you want (it’s not your fault - it’s society, the government, your parent’s fault, etc). As people continue to turn their back on God, and as our country continues to distance itself from Him we as a country will continue rolling downhill like a snowball headed for hell.1 point
