If we don’t get this nation vaccinated like we did with measles, ch. pox, mumps etc., we will not see football as it used to be. Only 21% of Newton people have been vaccinated and covid is spreading here. Newton health dept. sends the cases to the news and they are no where near the amount of cases in Newton co. Most cases don’t get reported to them. so if you don’t get vaccinated and when you get sick with it you will wish you had taken the vaccine.

I think vidors defense takes a big step back from last yr lost a ton on that side of the ball and are breaking in some youngsters that will take some lump front 7 will be good but the backend is suspect, with that being said the offense looks like it is getting back to try misdirection if that is the case they should be better I see a typical .500 season from the pirates and a 3 or 4 seed in the playoffs, but I have seen teams like this over achieve so time will tell good luck pirates

I think he could get some run later in the year, especially if we start blowing people out. Pass pro is always brutal for the young backs though and usually keeps them off the field early. If we were forced to play him I think he could be effective right now as a freshman though. I think the first ones to contribute from that freshman class are probably going to be Windfont and whoever that other kid was coming off the edge that they moved up to scrimmage with varsity. Windfont would probably already be out there if our edge guys weren't 6-3/220. Not sure he's big enough/experienced enough to play in the middle yet.

So in your mind 4 loss Kilgore, 4 loss Center, 4 loss PG, 4 loss Wimberly, 3 loss China Spring, 2 loss Jasper and 2 loss Salado was tougher than one loss Manvel, FB Marshall, Huntsville, Texas High, Liberty Hill and Aledo? Four of which lost their one game to Crosby. Also, Kilgore, Center, China Springs and Wimberly were not ranked when y'all played them. I don't see where they were ranked at all during the season, but they definitely weren't when they played Carthage. Only teams that were ranked when y'all played them were #5 PG, #3 & #5 Gilmer, #4 Jasper and #6 Salado.

To be fair.. that district is probably the weakest in the state these days.

I worked as a claim adjuster for a while after college.... I dealt with a couple of families who had lost loved ones and I ended up selling my old scooter. I just needed to be around to raise the kids and stuff. It was all for show… so they could at least say, “we tried”. The interesting thing about it was that the spread wasn’t rampant. The Lumberton kids, teachers weren’t overwhelming the ICU’s. I went to every game (home and away) and rarely kept my mask on the entire time.

I'm sure he had some advice......but I have no issue with mask when it makes some sense to wear it.......Lumberton ISD and I think most schools had a policy I felt made no sense..... Example: When Covid first was exposed and they had the remaining football games at lumberton. There policy was you must enter the stadium wearing a mask. You must wear that mask until you get to your seat. Once at your seat, you could remove mask. So I watched the student section completely fill up, and students huddle around each other with no mask and yull and spit on each other........but when going to the restroom alone, they had to wear a mask because they were out of their seat.....I'm no doctor, but that makes zero sense.......

Personally I think it's insane that one guy with no medical background can make an order that goes against the statements and advice of the overwhelming majority of doctors, hospitals, medical experts, epidemiologists, etc.

On a completely unrelated note about church vans… when I was in high school I went to FBC Bevil Oaks. During that time they sold our church van and got a new one. The guy who bought the old van was supposed to remove the church name from the van, but never got around to it. He apparently had quite the drinking problem, because people kept calling our church to report that the van was parked at Lucky Liquor. Us high schoolers got to calling the new van “The Lucky Liquor II”, much to the fake outrage of our youth pastor.

I read about it this morning along with Stepp's tweet. I wouldn't be surprised if their week-1 games are cancelled soon too. One has to start wondering about other ISDs following the same thing, I hope it doesn't happen. Other ISDs might wanna look at what Paris ISD has done, kudos to them. Time to nip this thing in the bud and try to have a somewhat normal school year.

He is very intense coach and seems to be a nice guy. I've refed him at a few of his stops and his players match his intensity on the court and they always seem to love playing for him. All it takes is the wrong parent to be upset with a coach for there to be issues.

I heard he got forced out because of parents.
