WOS is a Great team. Every year. I give them the respect they deserve. Newton is a great team as well. I can't confidently say who I think is going to win this game. But I'm a Newton fan and am pulling for them. But the scoreboard is really all that matters

I have absolutely nothing to say negatively about WOS. They are one of the best programs in Texas as is Newton. I look for a great hard fought game and I expect it. Not likely a blowout in either way. But anything can happen with a momentum shift and a few mistakes. Both of these teams k8nda mirror each other with great athletes, great coaching and great fan base. Looking forward to a great game. Go Eagles!!!!

WB is of course the favorite going into the game but if Deer Park or Channelview don't get in (which I don't think they will) BU could have a longer playoff run then the Bruins this year. It would be nice though having both Beaumont schools as the D2 representatives...

I'm looking for a close game this week. Newton almost got beat by Silsbee until they pulled away in the second quarter plus they gave up 21 points. If Newton wants to win this game they better improve on defending the touchdown.

LCM has the potential to have one of their better seasons. Play calling has to improve and be a little more aggressive.

UPDATE: Update on injured Kirbyville football player. According to an administrator the player was diagnosed with spinal cord shock. No vertebrae damage or significant spinal cord damage, he has regained sensation in his extremities but has not regained full motor control yet.

No need to get any hurt feelings. Everybody passionate about their team. I can make you a 100% guarantee about one thing, there isn't anything that is said in this forum that is going to change the outcome of this game and the scoreboard has the final say. Let's not get mad at each other because we both believe in our teams. May we have a great game that provides us some entertainment and everybody stays healthy. This game is not going to determine who goes onto AT&T win or lose, that is up to our teams by winning the games necessary to accomplish this goal. May god bless all. You have some valid points in your paragraph that are note worthy. Dj played football in the WOS system and has had and still may have family members who have playing. He knows what he is talking about. Your team is very good and has had a lot of success in their division, I support them 100% except when we play each other. I'll take WOS we are not the same team as last year, Defense is much better, OL is very very good it should be a good one.

I know he completed a total of 5 passes last week with a loaded box for about 100 total yds and one pass was over 75 yds, so that leaves about 25 yds passing for the rest of all the offensive plays.

Silsbee has and excellent football team. They have great athletes and will go deep in the playoffs, imo. Everyone needs to support these kids and they will rebound. Coming from and Eagle fan. I'm 100% a Newton fan but I know a good team when I see one. This game really doesn't matter. It should be used as a teaching tool. Disrict play is the only thing that matters.

I saw a few things I didn’t like in Thursday nights game. I think most of it is fixable by our coaches. That includes hustling until the whistle blows or hitting people late out of bounds which happened a ton last year and has already happened in both games this year. If we can’t hustle or play the game the right way I believe it’s our coaches responsibility to take care of it. The little things in this game and in life can make a big difference in how things turn out.

WOS is better than last year and had me concerned. I have not seen them play,( so all this is second hand information) WOS has a very strong run defense but from the sounds of it are struggling with the pass defense. From what I saw at the Silsbee game Newton has a Pretty good pass offense, so that gives me a little more confidence that this could go to the Eagles. But turn overs and miscues could lead to disaster for either team. This is two great programs. you couldn't get me to take a bet on this game unless you gave me 100 points either way. The sad fact is someone has to lose. I love both these programs. End in a tie?

I really enjoyed the game and not just because Newton won. The game showed good sportsmanship by both teams ( both teams helped each other and were respectful for one another ) . The officials were professional and called a good clean game and sometimes the official don't get credit when credit is due ( if they would have messed-up,several of us would have let you know ). The fans were polite and courteous. I enjoyed the game . Silsbee kids and adults are good people. Silsbee football team will get them deep into the play-offs. JMO

Yep and the exact same excuses from Coldspring fans for four years. I agree Coldspring was bigger, faster and more Talent. That wasn’t all on the coaches. If you go in at halftime with a two touchdown lead and can’t keep it, then your team didn’t want it as bad. What I seen is Coldspring got tired and was a totally different team in the second half.
