  1. I’m not saying the Chauvin wasn’t guilty of a crime. I believe he was. But don’t spread lies. His toxicology report showed more than 3 times the level of a fentanyl overdose. He also had methamphetamines & marijuana in his blood. He was freakin hammered high. The truth is none of us were in the courtroom. We don’t know exactly how it went down. I think - just from the little I know - murder 3 and not murder 2 was equitable to the offense. But don’t spread your propaganda and racist lies. YOU and those who spread lies about systemic racism are worse than Chauvin, because you will continue to do harm but never receive justice - at least not here on earth.

    Ma'Khia Bryant Shooting

Looking at the Facebook comments are either hilarious or sad according to how you look at it. Comments such as, the officer should have tried to talk her down. In the middle of a knife swing? Or, she called 911 so you can’t shoot her. I could list about 100 more examples but that is stupidity at its finest. But I know that people like to play the what if game. So what if it was a white female try to stab A black female? If the officer did nothing, what would the narrative be? Here is my opinion only going to Texas law. 1. it does not matter who called 911. 2. There is no way for the officer to know who made the call or any other circumstances such as bullying (which doesn’t justify stabbing) before his arrival. 3. Presented with these circumstances, there is simply no time for de-escalation or talking anyone down as has been suggested. The person is in the middle of an attack. 4. Under Texas law, any person could have shot and killed the girl with the knife in her hand. All that is required to protect another person, even a person that is not known to you, is a reasonable belief that had you been in the same situation, deadly force would have been justified. So a person can put themselves in the position of the girl against the car who is trying to fend off the knife attack. 5. Age has no relevance in the justified use of deadly force. 6. I see no way anyone can say the officer made a mistake looking at the facts that he saw however, even if the officer might have been technically wrong if some people‘s opinion, it would still be justified under the law. The Texas law on self-defense (for anyone) or the use of force by police officer, is a reasonable belief. 7. The United States Supreme Court in Graham v. Connor said that in viewing force by a police officer, you must place yourself in the position of that officer having to make a split second decision. In Graham the officers used force against a guy who they believe may have just committed an armed robbery and was resisting. As it turned out the person was completely innocent and was having a diabetic crisis. A UNANIMOUS Supreme Court found that the officers use of force was justified even against the innocent person because they had a reason to believe that he was resisting arrest from an armed robbery. They had no way of knowing that he was going into insulin shock and actually needed treatment. In that ruling the Supreme Court said that you have to look through the eyes of the officer who had to make a split second decision and not one made several months later in a judge’s chambers when there is time to look at all the facts. That is why if a person shoots a man in self defense coming at him with a gun and it later turns out that the gun was a toy, it is still justified. The facts are that the person using self-defense was in no danger but there was a reasonable belief of danger when presented with the situation. 8. Also under Texas law, if you claim self-defense or defense of another person, you do not have to prove that self-defense was needed. The state has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the self-defense or defense of another was not needed.

  4. That's what happened this time... the ME did the autopsy, but then the private DR (who didn't even examine the body) came to his own conclusions which were supported by the prosecution. Have you ever seen a time when the prosecutor's office tried to discredit the ME and instead rely on the opinion of an "expert" hired by the family of the victim? His fees were paid out of that 27 million dollar settlement that was given to the family, I might add. Hardly a conflict there, lol.

    Crosby vs Aledo

There has to be a governing body. For as many things that can disliked about the way UIL does things, there are many more that are positive. Apartments and rental properties is just a loophole that makes it possible to manipulate the "must establish a permanent residency within the school district" law. There's no other way that I can think of or have even heard of that is fair. Gotta take the good with the bad.

  7. If I'm not mistaken, different states define "murder" and/or "manslaughter" differently. IF it did go to Supreme court, would they use that States definition? I don't think he intended to kill Floyd, and I think Floyd played as big a part of his own death as Chauvin. In all of these cases we seem to over look personal responsibility.

  8. I will be equally shocked as some of you, but only if the case isn’t affirmed on appeal. Based on what I’ve read, it seemed more of a manslaughter case but appellate courts very rarely EVER reverse a jury verdict in a criminal case, and I’ve seen way worse than this one upheld. I hate to disagree with Dershowitz but I’d be willing to bet a large sum of money the SCOTUS will never touch this case with a 10 foot pole. Chauvin will not the be the first or last person who will spend a long time in jail for maybe nothing more than being an idiot. Right or wrong, that is often the end result in our judgment system, even in cases with no publicity.

  9. He was guilty of a crime, but as others stated, murder wasn't appropriate. I wouldn't be surprised if an appeal is effective to some degree. I also don't at all blame the jurors for finding him guilty and getting the heck out of dodge. There's no way the question "what will happen if we don't find him guilty on all charges" wasn't asked in the deliberations.

  10. This is terrible..... Take your feelings out of it the crime doesn’t fit 2nd or 3rd degree murder We ve allowed the mob to dictate and actually do the opposite of the law. talk about losing faith in the system. my prayers go to all law enforcement.....their job gets tougher each and every day for all you idiots out there.....just comply

It's amazing to me how many people are legitimately upset that a police officer shot a person who was actively trying to murder two other people. [Hidden Content]

  12. Here's the deal.... We live in a country that's forgotten that we are all responsible for our own actions. If you decide to jerk away from the cops and try to hop back in your car and flee (like the kid last week) and the cop accidentally pulls her pistol instead of her tazer... you asked for it. If you get high and try to pass fake bills, fight the cops, ingest mass amounts of drugs and don't make it home.... you asked for it. If you take a suspect down and kneel on him even though he's obviously in great distress (and ultimately died).... you asked for it. I don't feel that bad for Chauvin. I don't think that he actually committed murder, but I don't have a real problem with manslaughter... but when he made a conscious decision to stay there in spite of all common sense and the input from bystanders and his fellow officers, he put himself in the position to be judged by an unsympathetic jury. He asked for it. I do have a problem because it seems like we've reached a point in America where the lie about "unarmed young black men being slaughtered by racist cops" is now accepted as a fact. If you dare to point out the fact that it's a lie perpetrated by the media and those on the left for their own selfish purposes, you're a racist, too. They are literally calling for the cop in C-bus Ohio to be prosecuted for shooting the girl that was trying to stab another girl yesterday. "Kids have been having knife fights forever... that's no reason to kill her," etc... It's insane. I think that the people who are trying so hard to pit us against one another aren't going to like the unavoidable eventual results that will come from their actions.

  14. My biggest problem with this trial, regardless of the guilt or innocence of Chauvin, is that mob violence influenced the jury’s decision, and perhaps the Judge. This was a tactic used by the Klan & Mafia in the past. Not a pretty part of our past, and certainly something I’d hate to see happening in our future. For those reasons, I hope it is overturned, and a new trial convened. Based on TxHoops comments, it’s not likely. Sad that.

  16. There are probably many, many schools that have enjoyed the successes partly due to a transfer student for whatever reason. What.. all of those other transfers are ok because they aren't producing state titles? Like you elude to, seems hypocritical.

    Chauvin Verdict is in....

All of the medical examiners involved could have said he died of an overdose and Big Girl and her clan would have called them quacks an demanded another autopsy. It has happened before. Shouldn’t white people start looting and throwing molotav cocktails? I mean, we didn’t get the white guy off, so we have the right to destroy entire towns, without police interference. Surely they will stand down. I’ve had my eye on a new big screen tv. Maybe I can get one for free.

That exact sentiment is why you never see me complaining about "recruiting" or kids transferring into a program. I'll most certainly point it out but if everything is deemed legal I think that unless you're willing to knock your own team for acquiring talent then you shouldn't point fingers at anybody else. That's just the way the game is played today, you can either roll with it or get rolled over. Heck, a huge part of the reason Crosby was able to beat Fort Bend Marshall's select team was because of a transfer we got from our farm league in Goose Creek CISD.

  22. I’m not upset that Trump lost, I’m upset that Biden won. It also upsetting that there are enough fools to elect the fool, even when you can look at his past record and know what’s coming. Elections are only popularity contests to the low information voters, which sadly, are the majority.

    Chauvin Verdict is in....

I’ll certainly be surprised if the verdict/trial is not overturned. Maxine Waters & Joe Biden put the verdict in jeopardy. Despite whether Chauvin is guilty or innocent, that verdict was partially the result of mob violence. The whole fiasco, change of venue/sequestered jury, was FUBARed up from the get go. When mob violence determines guilt or innocence, there is no Justice. Jmo.
