Why can’t we just congratulate the guy and move on no need for useless BS, give the community and the team a chance and move on!Β

It's all good natured humor amongst posters, give us a chance with our useless bs. No harm intended towards Hardin.Β

Amen bro! I do not see the constant SNARK thrown about here accomplishing a thing. Why people thrive on tearing down others is beyond me.

I wish Hardin and the new coach all the BEST!Β Β

Here's the question: Will he be allowed to bring in his own staff and begin implementing his own program? Think about it, Hardin has not hired an unfamiliar coach since Tod Stark, and that lasted about half a season. Haynes has been hired twice and Barrier has family all over the school, both teachers and students. This has traditionally been Hardin's Achilles heel. Even when they have gotten promising coaches to take the job, the community, parents and school board can't get out of the way long enough to give the guy a chance. I saw this announcement on Twitter last night, and there is a ton of positive energy around Coach Smith from many txhsfb coaches throughout the state. This leads me to believe they may have gotten a real good one with this hire. Those in Hardin need to stand down for a couple of years and let him work. If you will let him bring his own staff and let him lay the foundations of a program from the 7th grade on up, you might just have a chance to improve your program. Only time will tell....

Best of luck to the new coach. Hopefully he can get the kids to buy into his system. Remembering several years back when a coach (Alvarez) came to Kirbyville from W. Sabine and turned that program around. Β
I think it was Bear Bryant that said β€œwinning isn’t everything but it beats the h... out of coming in second”.

No.Β  The only school in the entire region that had turf (same year as Hardin, was Dayton).

Dayton was in 2007, PNG was in 2008. So Hardin had it same year as Dayton in 2007 you say, good for Hardin ISD starting the trend early and investing early.Β

Surely you jest. Β Remember.. he’s not athletic director. Β I’m not sure if he can hire anyone.. at all. Β Hopefully he’s at least in on the interviews and making suggestions. Β But..

    • He actually had a pretty solid year for a sophomore starting in that district. I can assure you, it hasn't hurt his recruiting at all and that will only improve with the move back to the Wack.Β
    • If Crumedy eventually has bigger aspirations than being in Jasper, every aspect of the program will be looked at when someone interviews him for any job. He knows that. The mindset needs to be that any time someone wears a Jasper uniform, that they're doing everything they possibly can to win. It matters.
    • This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up It's a poll but I could definitely see this as realistic.Β Β  From the article: Catholics in the United States have swung dramatically against President Biden in recent years, now boasting a significant statistical break towards his GOP challenger. Pew Research released on Apr. 30 a report exploring support for presidential candidates sorted by religious affiliation. The poll found that 55% of Catholics support or lean towards supporting former President Donald Trump in a head-to-head against Biden. Conversely, only 45% of Catholics support Biden in the same one-on-one pairing. The 12% margin of support in favor of Trump marks a significant shift from 2020, when he held an extremely narrow lead β€” 50% to 49%. Biden currently leads among Hispanic Catholics with a narrow 49%-47% split, but the close contest marks a major shift rightward for the demographic. In 2020, a similar poll from Pew Research found Hispanic Catholics preferred Biden to Trump with a staggering 67%-26% split.
    • You said a lot there. Truthfully, that is the root of the issue. Who cares what a kid thinks about how coaches are running a program? Kids play, coaches coach. For some reason, parents have this backward in a lot of places and its wreaking havoc.Β
    • He's already stated he's a huge Clinton fan.
