  1. Accidents happen it doesn't matter if the player is in season or not. This is not on a coach or a player its just an unfortunate situation. Many athletes all across the state participate in multiple sports at the same time. Shoot Prime suited out for a professional baseball game and a professional football game in the same day.

  2. Coach Foster and I had talked earlier in the season and he told me this might be his last year to coach but still wasn't sure. Well, he is sure now. It's been a great privilege to cover his teams. I always enjoy watching his teams play. They are always one of the best coached teams year in and year out. But it's more of an honor and privilege to call Kevin my friend. He is just an absolute great man. He and his dad are the reasons I am a big Big Sandy fan. I will miss Coach on the sidelines. Just won't be the same without him. But I also know we will keep in touch and he will be greeting me when I attend Wildcat basketball games. Congrats Coach Foster!!! Job well done my friend!

  4. Sign of today's times...we have to have someone or something to blame for anything that goes wrong...sometimes things just happen and it isn't anyone's fault...I promise you that kids do far dumber and worse things on their own time that can cause injury...Heck, you can get hurt walking across the street...whose fault is that? As for lifting, how exactly do you plan to get stronger if you DONT lift all year long? I have never seen anyone gain significant strength taking months at a time off from the weight room

  5. Hate this for the young man...... And his team. I would think it's a 100 percent participation kinda thing. Unless you are pitching that day. Injuries are part of it.

  6. The kid has a future playing D1 baseball. Having baseball kids in pads in April during the district season and playoffs is a good way to get all those kids to quit football.

  7. We have been fortunate to get to watch one of the best coaches in the state. Thanks for the memories Coach Foster

  8. per Hoopinsider via X Kevin Foster has resigned as head basketball coach from Big Sandy. He will remain there as the Elementary principal. 712-271 record 3 state appearances (2x runner-up, 1 state semifinalist) 7 regional tournaments 20 district championships

  9. Little Johnny that plays baseball all year can get hurt too...Tommy John is a thing. Bball is played alot once the school season is over. Who gets the BLAME for all those injuries? NOBODY, stuff happens......Certainly can't blame a HC/AD who is trying to better his program.....

  10. Participate in everything! Don't live in fear of injury...if you are playing with that mindset you probably aren't going to be very successful in the first place. Elite athletes play multiple sports a lot of times at the same time. Unless you are making a living and putting food on the table with your abilities then you have no excuse to not be doing everything.

  12. Got some info on this...this was a footwork drill when the injury happened and that this is a pre-existing condition (he injured the elbow before) As if there wasn't drama in Nederland before now the new football coach is taking heat from the baseball people because of it...Coach Rich is trying to change the culture at Nederland it was inevitable that he ruffled a few feathers along the way

  13. Very well said. I’ve always said he’s the most underrated coach in our area. In my book, no one “taught” the game better than Coach Foster. And it showed watching his teams play. And as great a coach as he is, he’s an even better person. That’s saying something.

  16. That there’s not a single thread on the fact that the Republican nominee is on trial for paying off a porn star with whom he had an affair while the future First Lady was carrying said nominee’s child. I remember back when the dirty, no-good Dems sacked Gary Hart over something similar. Same thing with John Edwards and later Anthony Weiner. But y’all keep pretending God is on your side, lol.

The AD's job is to win in football. Everything else is window dressing. If the football team is winning the rest can go up in smoke.

  18. Wrong again. [Hidden Content] The day that Trump took office, our nation debt stood at 19.9 Trillion dollars (End of Q4, 2016). After his tax cuts (without corresponding cuts in spending), the national debt stood at 23.2 Trillion dollars at the end of Q1 of 2020 that was the Start of COVID, FYI... Or a total increase in debt of almost 17% during Trump's first three years (and one quarter) in office. At the end of his reign (with COVID spending for which Trump himself signed off on) was at 27.7 Trillion Dollars. That's a 39% increase in the National Debt while Trump was in office. For further reference, Biden inherited a 27.7 Trillion dollar debt to start. At the end of Q4 2023, the debt stands at 34 Trillion. That's an increase of 19% over the first three years. I know that math and facts hurt your feelings, but Trump was horrible for the country before he allowed "them Dirty Democrats to shut down the economy." Anybody that says "Trump was good for the country" doesn't know the first thing about micro/macro economics or the effects of deficit spending. Trump hurt us like no other president, period. Anybody that says "Trump was good for the economy" is actually stating for the rest of us with some sense "I don't know what I'm talking about."

  22. i think this is true to some degree. I even think various news sources (on both sides) will tout the ones that they think will galvanize voters, whether they reflect well or poorly on their candidate.

when kids play multiple sports in high school they should be allowed to focus on one sport at a time. There's no reason a baseball player who's about to go to the playoffs should get hurt running football drills in April. Imagine if this had been reversed and a star football player shattered his wrist taking mandated varsity batting practice in September.

  24. sure I can. Countless polls have shown it. Common sense dictates it, as does Biden's sub 35% approval rate. But hey, lets run the one guy who can muster up some energy on the left!

@navydawg31 @Dawg22 My thoughts exactly!! This is in reference to a post made on social media about a baseball player getting hurt during spring football practice. If you know what I am talking about then you must know the kid that got hurt was more than likely a pride possession of the social media poster.

  28. No, the left will systemically destroy whoever the pro-American candidate is. The Soros controlled media crucified and destroyed DeSantis. Then part 2 of the plan is weaponizing the Governments Kangaroo Courts against Trump.

  29. Nonsense, no cakewalks for Republican candidates. As soon as they are the candidate, they become racist, misogynistic, homophobic, xenophobic crooks. You can't make or prove that argument at all.

  30. it's a tie. what's hilarious is the superiority complex both sides have about it. I honestly can't decide what's worse: the left pretending biden is good, or the right pretending that if Trump doesn't win it's somehow the left's fault more than their own for not picking literally any other candidate, which would've resulted into a cakewalk into the oval office.

  31. I have no idea if Trump will win or not, never said I did. All I know is when I'm presented with the choice of Trump or the idiot biden and his idiot sidekick, I'm voting for Trump.

  35. Nothing happened to Clinton whatsoever. He definitely didn't face criminal court because of it. And the white stain on the blue dress was only one of many for Clinton. I'm not defending Trump's character. I'm saying this is a Trump witch hunt compared to history of like incidents for other politicians.

  37. What do you think is happening with all these coordinated, coreographed trials during election season in the Democrat run Kangaroo Courts? Even terrorists like Tim McVeigh and the Boston Marathon bombers got plentiful trial delays awarded. but Trump gets NONE. This is the most blatent example of election interfearance ever right before your eyes.

  41. I certainly think if it is an in season varsity sport, the players should be allowed to miss all contact in football spring training. Yes be there and watch and learn, but no contact unless it is the player’s choice

  44. I am all for multiple sport athletes. I always say play as many as you can in high school. But during that sports season, a player should not be going through drills for another sport. Particularly contact drills. It's my understanding this was a decision by coach, not player.

  45. This is some laughable screed. A professional blowhard would have trouble topping this. MSNBC might be having an emergency meeting to tender you a job offer. My only question is: If Trump is such a dirtbag, why do you have to lie about the man to convince others you are correct in your assessment? Doesn't that make you the dirtbag?

  47. I don't know. I seem to have read a lot of posts on these nederland threads about how the players aren't dedicated enough to football. Seems this is exactly what some folks want. I'm hoping it was the kid's decision to go out there and not the new coach pushing for it.
